I tried Bay Design a few times, only to be disapointed and taken. They switched stones on me, not just once but twice! I had rare gems from out of the country & no way could I replace them- took 3 weeks to size my ring (only took it in to be sized), when they told me 3 days- I was very hesitant to leave it with anyone & they said no problem we will have it right back to you- I called all the time, and they kept putting me off...finaly when I picked it up, the settings (rare type) had been messed with and the diamonds were off color.
So not wanting to accuse anyone- I left. Months later when I needed a new lobster claw on a necklace (ripped off on that also-could have purchased a new necklace for the price of the clasp)- I saw a ring identical to mine- slightly changed in the case for sale listed as 'unique"- give me a break- it was almost identical! Just made me sick. Then my girlfriend surprised me and had a ring set for me and they switched the main stone- when questioned- they said "we have thousands of stones what would we need yours for".
This stone had encusions and also a totaly diferent cut- that was the last straw. I ran into another Very Respected Jewler from a city south of Janesville & they said that they don't think much of the owner and the business dealings he makes- said he was not trustworthy. I wouldn't take your jewels there if you want "yours" back!

I recently lost a diamond out of my wedding ring and thought I would go to a local business instead of the big retail diamond stores like the Diamond Center. I took it to Bay Design and they were very unprofessional, had a very poor attitude and acted like they didn't care if they even had my business. I got my ring repaired and resized, picked it up and when I got home I found that it was too big and practically falling off my finger.
I called on Monday and told her my concerns, the woman claimed it could be from the cold and when I told her its really big on me and if they could resize it she said I would be responsible for the charges. She was snippy with me and said very condescendly "well why don't you just bring it in?" her tone was very unprofessional and I will take it elsewhere to have it resized before I stop foot in their door again.
