Established in 1969 by Richard Armstrong, we started as a small kiosk on Library Mall. Since then, the Workshop has matured into a "full line" jewelry store specializing in custom design work, repairs and appraisals. We are known for one-of-a-kind, hand crafted fine jewelry created on the premises, inspired by you. The Jewelers Workshop tradition lives on through Jason Braden, Richard's son-in-law. Jason continues to ensure that Jewelers Workshop remains the premier custom jeweler in Madison. Combining old world craftsmanship with today's technology has resulted in breathtaking jewelry.

Services
We are a full service jewelry store. Best known as a place you can bring your ideas and work one-on-one with a jeweler to create jewelry only you can dream of. We also offer expert repairs and services. Below are our most common services. We perform both estate and insurance appraisals. Our personnel are GIA trained and accredited.
These are the most talented people in the industry. They are honestly and truly world class artists, craftspeople and jewelry professionals. Real jewelers get their fingers dirty while polishing rings. So forgive us when we wear magnification visors and leather aprons onto the sales floor, have Band-Aids on our fingers or are sporting some strange resin splashed on our shirts.
After meeting with one of our designers, the first thing we do is create a sketch of your ideas. If your design requires gemstones or diamonds, you can either pick out your stones in-store that same day or (in the case that your choice of stones is not in stock) we will special order them for you. Depending on the style of your piece, we use Lost Wax Casting, CAD, or Construction (or a combination of them) to create your jewelry.
We do repairs of all kinds. Our onsite laser welding capabilities make it possible to easily repair platinum, gold or titanium jewelry with gems in place, as well as repairing eyeglass frames and other unusual items. We also do antique restorations. Bring in your item and we will gladly review the repair process that will best fit your needs.

I walked into Jewelers Workshop looking for help with a custom project, which ended up being much more difficult than any of us could have imagined. The staff at jewelers workshop never gave up on me and worked closely with me for several months ensuring it was just right. They were in frequent contact with me about updates along the way, and really let me be a part of the process.
Even with my many, (many) requests to tweak things, I was never made to feel like a bother. Everyone did all they could to help, and Hank made sure I was 100% satisfied before I finally walked out the door with the finished piece. Hank, Jake, Jackie, Jason, and everyone else who had a hand on this project did a fantastic job. Their friendliness, professionalism, and skill all made the process enjoyable even with the difficult nature of the project. I can't recommend them enough and will definitely be back in the future.

I am in the beginning stages of buying a ring. I went into the store before work to get my ring size. I believe that I worked with Jason. After providing my ring size, he stated, "$15 to a charity of your choice, " which at first I thought he meant he wanted me to donate in the store. I asked for clarification and he responded, "We provided a free service.
You are obviously not going to be buying your ring here, so donate to a charity of your choice." I felt that his statement was judgmental. Also, the free service that he provided used zero resources and didn't even take five minutes. I have been thinking about the off putting interaction since going in. Definitely will not be going back. lol

One of the center stones on my wedding ring had gotten wiggly. We did not buy the ring here but found this place while calling around looking for repair places. We called no less than 10 jewelry places (most chain stores) and were told that they would have to replace the prongs, it would cost anywhere from 75-200$, and would take 2 weeks. They fixed it in 5 minutes, it cost 15$, and they cleaned it for free.
We were met at the door by the owner, Jason, and Hank fixed it. My ring is beautiful now, cannot recommend this place enough. They will forever have my business for repairs and future purchases.

Jackie at Jeweler's Workshop made the wedding ring I dreamed of. Beginning with using both the white and yellow gold from my original ring and ending with a design that incorporated my vision. When she said she would make leaves out of the white gold, I trusted her confidence even though I couldn't imagine how she would do it. They're so delicate and catch the light like gemstones.adding to the sparkle.
Thanks to her artistry it went beyond my expectations. I wanted a ring that was a reminder of what my marriage means.from the hint of a heart shape for love to organic sense of growth.it was all there in a small piece of wearable art. AND the topper, Jeweler's Workshop found the alexandrite stone I wanted to add to the ring. A stone energetically about change and joy.
They found several for me to choose from. I will definitely be back to JW and Jackie. They listen, they create and they dream with you. Had to include some pics so you can see for yourself. The modeling one is for proportion. I'm not a hand model. LOL

A friend commissioned a pendant for me. The artist was Jackie and she designed such a lovely piece in titanium. I had never had a piece of titanium jewelry and I love it so much I wonder how I've lived as long as I have without a piece of jewelry made of this beautiful metal. I love how the various colors of the metal are highlighted as light plays over it.
She has etched a beautiful design that is complimented often. The precision of her etching is very impressive. My friend had an inscription put on the back of the necklace. It's very legible and easy to read. As a matter of fact I examined it closely with a magnifying glass and her lettering is just perfect. Jackie's work has impressed me so much that I'm working with her now to design a ring that I intend to wear and leave as an heirloom for my daughter.

I brought in my mothers wedding ring to talk to the person that specializes in restoration. The ring is close to 70yrs old. It was not in great shape and when she gave me the breakdown of everything I could tell she really didn't want to do it. She said a 3D print of the ring would be cheaper and better. I took it to a jewelry place in IL where my sister took the matching band and spoke to their restorer.
Not only was it half the price, he was truly excited about the process and also said that if they offered to 3D print it that meant that they could not do the work. I would have appreciated that honesty in the beginning. Just do your research and make sure to take to several places to consult.

This place was really awesome. I just started the process with them, but their service and willingness to help me (when I really don't know what I want or what I'm talking about) was superb and I'm glad I came by. I'm hoping the rest of the process goes equally smoothly. Definitely satisfied so far, Rab was excellent.

My husband and I chose Jeweler's Workshop when we were looking for a new design for A ring for me (after I lost the diamond in my original engagement/wedding ring). We worked With Jason and Jackie and couldn't be happier with the result. Jackie listened to my thoughts and idea And fashioned a beautiful and stunning ring. She consulted with me at. every step.
And thanks too Jason for alerting me that the ring was ready for pickup before the Stay At Home order. At Least I have a beautiful ring to look at and enjoy while I'm confined to my home!

I had the most amazing experience working with the staff at Jewelers Workshop. Lisa-Anne was super flexible in scheduling our first consultation and quickly provided a quote. She worked with me to find the perfect artist to take my grandmother's necklace and turn it into exactly the ring I wanted. It turned out perfect and gorgeous. I could not be happier!

I had an amazing experience here. The owner, Jason, was very helpful and insightful in working with my budget, a short time-line, and showing me designs that fit the idea of what I wanted. They made a custom designed ring for me, and it came back wonderful. Most impressively, they had the ring complete from first design to final product in under two weeks. I highly recommend Jewelers workshop, especially if you're looking for a custom made ring. My wife will love this!
