I almost never post reviews of anyone or anything, but Andy at Old World was so great, I have to provide my endorsement. I was in the market for something special for my 50th and I was searching for the right pre-owned Panerai to come along. When I saw the right model posted for sale on eBay, always the skeptic, I immediately did my due diligence on Old World.

Among other things, the reviews were stellar. I contacted Old World directly and asked for Andy. He was very accommodating, great communication and worked with me on the price to make the deal happen. I couldn't be happier with the transaction and the beautiful time piece. Andy will be my first call going forward for every high-end watch occasion. Thank you Andy and Old World!

I never write reviews, but in this case I'll make an exception, because my experience was exception-al. I called Andy with interest in a watch they had, and almost immediately (though I had never heard of Old World Jewelers or Andy) I had a high level of comfort with our conversation and the specifics he was giving me. He took the time to check small details to my satisfaction and never tried to convince or sell - just helped me know everything I wanted to know so that I could decide the rest.

He accommodated my transaction preferences and within hours the package was on the way. Upon receipt, everything was EXACTLY as we had discussed. No exceptions. Honesty and integrity are much harder to find these days than they should be, but you will find it here.

Bought a Rolex from Andy for my wife's upcoming retirement. He had a good selection, was very knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. The watches were reasonably priced and he was not "offended" when I asked if he could do a little better on the price of the one I ultimately chose. He made the whole buying experience quite enjoyable compared to the authorized Rolex dealers who act as though they are doing you a favor to sell you a watch. I dealt with Andy in person as I have a home in both the Chicago area and Florida. I look forward to doing more business with him in the future.

Old World Jewelers. Worth the drive to Wheaton Before my brother died he asked my husband and me to help his wife sell his watch collection. So we ended up with 90 luxury watches to sell, including 11 Rolexes, a couple of Patek Philippe's, many Omegas, and on and on. We looked up pre-owned watches on the internet and came up with three dealers who were highly reviewed on Yelp.

The first dealer was only interested in the Rolexes and Patek Philippes. His offer seemed low. Another dealer was willing to take them all and willing to educate us on the watch business and watches in general, which was great, but his offer also seemed low. And then we went to Andy Olczak at Old World Jewelers. He spent a great deal of time with us, assessing every watch, and said he would definitely make an offer for many of the watches and could help us sell the rest through consignment at Old World.

When he did make an offer, though, it was for the whole collection and it was significantly higher than what the other two jewelers had offered. Andy treated us well, offering advice as well as a fair amount for the watches we were selling. He was true to his word; he made an offer and that was what he ended up paying us; there were no last-minute adjustments.

You can probably sell a Rolex or a Patek Philippe easily enough, but if you want top dollar or you have other brands of pre-owned watches to sell, take a drive to Wheaton and Old World Jewelers. By the way, all of the jewelers spotted fakes among my brother's collection. Beware. It seems that making fake luxury watches is a big business. Only buy from someone you think you can trust, such as Old World Jewelers, and consider an appraisal if the watch price is significant.

I had several watches to sell. I called Andy and made an appointment and went to see him. Ron came into our conversation and I left with having a very satisfactory experience. His offers were fair and I felt very comfortable with our transaction. Both men are very knowledgeable and professional. Ive known Ron for many years and he has a terrific reputation. Well Done Old World Jewelers!

Andy and Tina provided me with super friendly service and were willing to spend the time to answer all my questions in detail. One of the best customer service experiences I've had. They're professionals with decades of experience, BBB accreditation, and almost 2000 positive transactions on ebay. I found a Rolex I liked on their ebay page, called their shop, and they made the entire process a cinch, had the watch the next day here in Florida. Buy with confidence from these class act professionals!

Andy and the whole team at Old World Jewelers are fair and honest. They always have a great selection and go out of their way to help in any way they can. In every respect, my experience with Old World Jewelers has been exemplary.

I recently had the pleasure of working with Andy on the selling and buying of a watch and it was an excellent experience. Andy was honest, effficient, communicative and an absolute pleasure to do business with. I will not go anywhere else for my next watch/jewelery transaction. Thanks Andy! Thanks Old World Jewelers!

I've purchased two Rolex's from Andy at Old World in the last year, while trading in my used watches each time. Both experiences were great and he was very fair with the trade in values. I'd highly recommend giving them a try if you don't want to go to the standard retailers and pay much higher prices.

Andy, Ron, and Tina as well as all of the employees are wonderful at Old World Jewelers. I am a watch nut as I have collected and sold watches for 25 years now. Old World Jewelers has been open a very long time and have an excellent selection as well as great pricing. They are honest, fair, and their customer service is superior. I have bought numerous watches there and I have also sold a few watches to them.

They offer you more money than any other secondary watch dealer in the Chicagoland area and their sale prices are extremely reasonable. They only sell high end watches and jewelry. Their expertise in the area of fine watches goes back to the very early years of watch collecting. Thanks Andy for all your help over the years!

I recently bought a preowned high end watch from them and have nothing but good things to say about the whole transaction. Everyone there was respectful and courteous, and I was very impressed with Andy's knowledge of watches. He gave me a very fair deal on a trade and I couldn't be happier with my new piece. I've done alot of transactions with people online (Ebay, WUS, TZ, etc.) and in person, and I have no reservations about going back again.

As someone who's also bought plenty of vintage pieces online, I can also say that the best way to avoid any issues with the seller's description is simply to ask for more pictures. In my case, Andy sent me many high quality close up pics within a day of asking.

I purchased a rare pink floral 116200 from this jeweler, sight unseen. The watch was listed at $5250, so I spoke to Andy Olczak and offered him $4800 by check, which he immediately accepted. The watch was described as being "scratch-free" and time to within factory specifications. I mailed the check on October 10, expecting to have the watch shipped within about a week, but instead I got an email from Tina Riley stating that the watch would be shipped on 10/24.

When the 24th came and went without any word, I emailed her again and received a very curt reply saying that she had meant to say "10 BUSINESS days, not 10 days" and the actual date of shipment would be 10/31. On 10/32 I received the watch, but it was not what I expected. It had been polished, but not very well--there were still scratches and pockmarks visible on the bracelet, and a small scratch on the crystal.

All the crevices under the bezel, between the links, and even in the threads of the winding stem were caked with a thick black paste (supposedly polishing compound), and required extensive cleaning to remove. The links were all present and the watch was keeping good time, but there was some damage to the screw heads on the bracelet. It seems that whoever polished the watch had done a very poor job, and had not even bothered to clean off the polishing compound.

Because of the amount of possibly abrasive debris around the crown and caseback gaskets, I was concerned that the watch may no longer be waterproof, and Tina was unwilling to have the watch tested, claiming it would add "unnecessary expense". After several rather indignant emails, Tina offered to return the watch at my own expense, claiming that it was my fault for expecting a used watch to be perfect!

I explained to Tina--patiently--that I did not expect a used watch to be perfect, but I did expect it to be waterproof to factory specifications, and after having polished the watch so carelessly, there was no way they could guarantee that anymore. She eventually offered to "reimburse" me for the costs of return shipping. I was able to have my own watchmaker pressure test the watch, and it passed, so I decided to keep it rather than take my chances fronting the money for a return.

It was running very accurately and in overall very good condition, but I would not buy from these people again. I was very patient and trusting, and I do not feel that trust was met with an equal measure of honesty. I get the impression that they were more interested in seeing what they could get away with than gaining a satisfied customer. When I expressed concerns about the condition of the watch after receiving it, Tina's attitude was more condescending than helpful. Based on the reviews I had read of this store, this was not the experience I expected.

I recently purchased a preowned Rolex, sight unseen, from Andy via eBay. I cannot over emphasis how fair and accommodating he was in the process. I was in Europe at the time of the purchase and he agreed, with absolutely no hesitation, to hold the watch until I returned to the States. Not only that, but he sent the watch, upon my request, to be serviced and returned to him so that I did not have to this do upon my return to the States.

The gentleman who serviced the Rolex told me, upon receiving the Rolex, that in was an excellent piece and well worth the money that I paid. This extra service by Andy was above and beyond the normal selling and buying of an item. I would say, without any reservations, that dealing with Andy at Old World Jewelers is a satisfying, safe, and rewarding experience, especially when dealing with someone from half way around the world and buying on eBay.

Brought in some old watches and gold rings. They were very nice and I felt they offered me a fair price. Cute store as well.

I'm outside IL and purchased an item via mail order from Andy and Ron. I was really impressed with their professionalism and high-quality service. They were both knowledgeable, polite, and more than fair. Tina, who helped with the logistics, was fantastic as well. The only problem is that they're not here in Massachusetts, where we can use more folks like them!

When visiting jewelry shops (Especially those with lots of estate stuff.) in the area it's usually one of those "pick two" things from a list of fair pricing, good selection, and friendly staff. Old World Jewelers has it all. I sold a watch to Andy and he was incredibly straight up about the whole thing, offered a remarkably fair price, and was an absolute pleasure to deal with throughout the whole process. Additionally, the selection they have there is amazing. I highly, highly recommend checking out their shop if you're in downtown Wheaton for any reason.
