Very LONG overdue for this review. My husband and I brought my ring here to get appraised. This was in June 2021. Patrick was phenomenal. When I say he knows his stuff, HE KNOWS HIS STUFF. Extremely knowledgeable, kind, personable, friendly, the list goes on. Any Qs we had, he answered them in a snap. He has a great energy about him and is very trustworthy. He will be our GO TO for any future appraisals. A true gem in his field! I highly recommend his services. A true master of his craft.

I recently went to Patrick to have two jewelry items appraised. Patrick is super friendly, welcoming, and the entire process was pleasant. Patrick took the time to explain the appraisal process as he was doing it which I found helpful & interesting. We were done in about 45 minutes, and I received the final appraisals via mail within 2 business days! Highly recommend going to Patrick for your appraisal needs.

This was my first experience having a piece of jewelry appraised, and what a wonderful experience it was! I walked in with a bit of anxiety but walked away filled with knowledge. My son had purchased a tennis bracelet for my Christmas gift and I wanted to know if he had overpaid for it. Not only did Patrick answer the questions I had, but also provided information I never would have thought of asking.

His professional manner and upbeat personality instantly put me at ease. You will leave well informed and with the feeling that there is someone who cares about your jewelry just as much as you do.

Patrick is incredibly knowledgeable of his profession and always looking to help his clients. I went to him to get a ring appraised, because I just wanted to ensure what I bought was legit. The ring wasn't very valuable, but I knew that when I purchased it. It was more for sentimental reasons. Patrick was nice enough to confirm the quality of the ring and didn't even charge me! Super nice guy!

Patrick's website is a bit dated but don't let that deter you from setting an appointment with this highly certified and very warm and knowledgeable appraiser. I took an engagement ring to Patrick and without looking at the certification was really able to get all the certification metrics within a percent or so. He also walked me through every step and I felt he was a genuine and honest guy who enjoyed his work. I now know I have a guy in West LA I can trust for all my appraisal needs. Would recommend many times over.

Patrick is a consummate professional who was able to confirm my engagement ring purchase. Pro tip - book in advance. He's very busy! I learned much about my ring and about the general business as well. If I ever purchase jewelry in the future I will have some knowledge as a more informed buyer. I loved meeting with Patrick and having him appraise my fiancee's engagement ring. He explained everything he was doing every step of the way, giving us full description of the process and how he arrived at his final number. We just received the most beautiful packet of paperwork for us to submit to our insurance. I learned so much and will never think about buying jewelry the same way again. I'd recommend Patrick to anyone!

My husband and I needed a rolex appraised and I searched for local appraisers. I stumbled on Patrick's website. I loved how everything was clear cut (i.e., his credentials, pricing, experience, etc.). After briefly speaking with him on the phone we were able to book an appointment a few weeks out as he is extremely busy! NO WONDER! The guy is fantastic at what he does.

He gave us SO much valuable information we would have never known.even outside of the watch and we really enjoyed our time with him. Because he books up fast, you may have to wait a few weeks to get in to see him but I guarantee it's worth the wait. He is very trustworthy and knowledgeable. If we ever need anything else appraised we'll go to him!

This was my first time needing a diamond appraised, and Patrick did an excellent job of explaining the process as he went along and producing the appraisal report shortly thereafter. Patrick rearranged his office to create a safe distance and work a mask the entire time.

Really great service. I came in knowing very little, and Patrick was incredibly knowledgeable and helped me understand what I purchased, and what to do going forward. Although we live across town, we were happy to work with someone with a wealth of knowledge and experience to get the best appraisal for our jewelry.

I came to Patrick after a disappointing experience with another appraiser. Patrick accurately assessed my sapphire engagement ring. He took the time to explain the quality of my sapphire and of the ring. He was able to show me the fingerprint inclusion in my sapphire and accurately identified that my sapphire was natural and not synthetic. Patrick promptly emailed me the appraisal for my insurance. The appraisal was descriptive and professional. Highly recommend Patrick for his jewelry appraisal services.

We needed some heirloom jewelry rings appraised. Patrick took his time and gave us a thorough explanation on how diamonds are accessed and monetarily valued. We were happy and satisfied with his knowledge, professionalism, and estimations. He has a nice private office full of art and gem history. I highly recommend his services.

Wow. Seriously. Patrick is the real deal. We got our new engagement ring appraised to have it insured and he was spot on with the GIA certificate. He explained the value of diamonds and even helped go over how best to insure it. He explained the differences of purchasing online vs with a jeweler. He's unbiased, thorough, professional, and extremely knowledgeable.

He spent time explaining a lot of what he was doing although he worked quickly and efficiently. We asked a lot of questions but wanted to ask him so many more because of how knowledge and experienced he was but we also had to get appraised an old engagement ring and wedding band heirloom so we didn't want to take up all his time. Long overdue review. In order to insure my ring, I needed an appraisal. It was really easy working with Patrick. He had weekend hours and it wasn't too time consuming at all. He's extremely knowledgeable so it was interesting learning a thing or two more about diamonds.

I got engaged. Yay! But as soon as it happened, I was worried about theft or loss or damage. I needed to get this added to my insurance policy ASAP. A little research with my insurance company and I found out I needed to have the ring appraised. I didn't want to wait any longer than necessary and I didn't want to spend a ton. A quick google search found Patrick and GemSecure.

All of his great reviews are well deserved. I called on a Tuesday and made an appointment for the following Saturday. My fiance and I showed up and Patrick immediately made us feel like he knew exactly what he was doing. He appraised the ring right in front of us and had us hold the GIA certificate (which he hadn't seen). He independently verified each point on the certificate and ensured the diamond in my ring was the one my fiance had selected.

He was able to determine every piece of information exactly as the certificate showed - we were very impressed! Then, he counted all of the accessory diamonds, weighed the ring to determine the gold value and explained the labor fees and markups. We walked out of his office feeling very confident in our purchase and his expertise and professionalism. 48 hours later, I received the email version of the appraisal and I was able to start my policy ASAP. I am so happy with GemSecure and I hope to have many more pieces of jewelry to bring back in the future!

Patrick is great at informing people of his process and providing an unbiased appraisal. I brought 3 rocks to him for review prior to purchasing the diamond for my now wife's engagement ring. I felt confident he provided me sound advice and saved me a fair amount of money in the process. I would highly recommend his services.

5 Stars all around! Excellent services, extremely detailed and very professional. I went to Patrick to value my jewelry for insurance. He was very responsive through email and scheduled me quickly. I was excited to see someone in West LA rather than trek to Downtown. He is the ONLY appraiser not in DTLA and I highly recommend his location. Free parking and easy to locate. Patrick is pleasant and makes the process clear.

He explained his process thoroughly and I was impressed with all of his qualifications and experience. He has no conflict of interest and is strictly about giving proper appraisals with detailed information. Very happy with the final product. he provided a very professional write up with excellent information about my jewelry. It's perfect for my insurance policy and I'm glad to know all of the details about my pieces for future reference. Highly recommend Patrick!

Patrick was extremely helpful, and very thorough. I needed an insurance appraisal for my engagement ring set-up, since I recently got engaged. He was very good to communicate with regarding the appointment. He was prompt and ready on the day of my time. The office was easy to find as well. He was extremely process oriented and did an unbiased evaluation. Turns out the diamond merchant and custom ring builder gave me what I paid for, and the value checked out for very close to expectation, if not a little more.

My diamond matched the GIA certification which is comforting to know, and the setting and custom work value turned out to be a very good deal. I can now rest easy knowing that our jewelry is appraised and insured. Patrick quickly turned around a pdf copy for my insurance agent, and I should have the color hardcopy within a few days. Some appraisers I called wanted 2-3 weeks for turnaround time, and needed to keep the ring.which is a huge no-no since it wasn't insured yet. Patrick was honest, and open.

He was very good about educating me on the diamond industry and how valuations are made by both insurance and wholesale. I was extremely pleased with his services. I would recommend Patrick to anyone who needs appraisals.!

Patrick isn't afraid to give you bad news, which is exactly what you want in the guy you hired to evaluate your $$$ luxury purchase. And he doesn't do feel-good overvaluations, which is going to save you money on your insurance. You know those jewelry store commercials that tell you your purchase will appraise for double? Well, they're not staying in business by giving things away at half price, so it's actually worth about what you paid.

If you insure it for more, the insurance company makes extra on your premium and you don't recover that money when they replace the item at market value. I found Patrick on Pricescope because I wanted a real valuation of our heirloom stone. He walked us through the various tests he was doing, showed us how he was coming to each of the determinations, and did a lot of diamond education along the way.

Although the specs were a bit lower than I'd hoped, since I had walked through the process with him I understood why and felt that the result was very fair. If we're ever in the market for another diamond, we will definitely be running the stone by Patrick before we purchase it. It's already an inherently useless item, so I definitely want to make sure we're getting what we're paying for!

My experience with Patrick at GemSecure was extremely positive and I would not hesitate to go back to him or to recommend him to a friend. My girlfriend had several rings that she had gotten from her grandmother. We had no idea what they were worth and were looking to have their value appraised for insurance purposes. First Patrick gave me a quick education on jewelry appraisal including what dies need to be appraised and what really doesn't.

He singled out the one ring that might be worth enough to justify the cost of an appraisal and told me that he could appraise the rest but that since they were each only worth several hundred dollars he wouldn't recommend it unless I really wanted/needed them appraised. He still took the time to tell me what those rings might be worth. Then he looked at the one ring that had larger gemstones and might be worth enough to justify the cost of an appraisal, only to then discover that the gemstones weren't real (which was news to me, oh well).

That being said, he refused to charge me for anything. As disappointed as I was to find out that our jewelry wasn't worth nearly as much as I had hoped, the fact that Patrick gave me a quick education on jewelry appraisal and his professional opinion of what our pieces would be worth without charging me for a full appraisal was a welcome surprise.

I would have happily paid some sort of fee just for booking his time but the fact that he refused to take my money just for his time speaks volumes to me. So if I ever need any more jewelry appraised I will definitely be taking my business to Patrick.
