We came to TDC Jewelry as a referral from my aunt, who is a very tough customer, so we had high expectations coming in. Jon exceeded everything we could have imagined. Walking us through the process of finding the right diamond in our price range and maximizing our budget at all times making sure we were all on the same page. We are thrilled with how our ring turned out and have alreaday made a second smaller purchase and had a old piece of jewelery altered. All great experiences!

I honestly wish I can give more than 5 stars. In short, my now fiance and I are extremely lucky that we were referred by a friend and met an incredible jeweler like Jon. He is absolutely talented, trustworthy, honest, and super passionate about his field of knowledge and work. We walked in not knowing so much about the whole engagement ring selection process, but he made us feel very comfortable upon arrival and kindly gave us the much needed informative session before we started looking at any specific pieces and discuss wants & needs. Jon was able to give us a step-by-step guide through the whole process.

He did not ever push us to make any decisions (you can't find this with other jewelers) and gave us plenty of time to think through and genuinely wanted us to make the decisions that was best for us. He kept in good communication through everything and never missed a single detail. He was able to always answer my questions and reassure my worries and made sure we were comfortable and confident in our final choice of diamond and setting.

We truly thank him for all the effort and work that he has helped us in creating our memorable piece and valuable experiences. We cannot be more happy for the outcome and are absolutely in LOVE with everything that we worked on with Jon thus far! The only place I will go for advice, cleaning, or purchasing of jewelry. My family has been going here for years. Jon is an expert who you can trust to give you the best advice as well as fair advice. I recently asked him to replace a diamond on my wedding band, and he told me all he needed to do was rotate the diamond. He could have easily told me it needed replacement, which would have cost me way more, and I would have had no idea. He is honest and dang good at his job.

I began researching jewelers in the area to resize my engagement ring and found TDC on Yelp. They were the first place I called because I saw Jon takes the time to thank reviews--I thought that was awesome. When I called, the first thing Jon did was talk me through the process of resizing a ring based on the metal type and style. He was very informative and kind.

I called a couple of other places and immediately knew Jon was the go-to person. I took my ring in a few days later. The building did through me off (it's a big office building, when I expected a stand-alone store. Just FYI incase you think you're in the wrong place.) Inside of the store had a great atmosphere and Jon again was super helpful!

The ring was ready in 4 days and when we picked it up, he also helped us look through some wedding band ideas for my fiance. We may go back to get his band from TDC. If not, we know we have a jeweler we can trust for future needs. Thanks for a great experience, Jon!

Visit Jon for a personal, professional, and easy experience! I've bought a lot of jewelry from Jon over the years because he's honest and fair, and will work really hard to get you exactly what you want if it's not in his showroom. Couldn't ask for anything more from a jeweler. I've continued to use him even after I moved out of the local area years ago. That's how much I trust him. Jon and TDC are amazing!

I'd give more than 5 stars if I could! Jon is the ultimate jeweler. He really takes the time to listen to what you want and gives extremely thoughtful advice and suggestions for what might make it better. He did my engagement ring and wedding band and I wouldn't go anywhere else in the future. He's extremely trustworthy and takes a huge amount of pride in what he does. I give TDC Jewelry 5 stars for several reasons. 1. Atmosphere 2. Great customer service. 3. Detail given to your personalized requests. 4. Communication The atmosphere is that of a private gallery, because of this you receive specialized attention from Jon. The store can be busy at times and being a smaller store you may need to have patience when you go in especially without an appointment.

Once Jon has attended you, you receive 5 star service. On my last visit I purchased a Sapphire engagement ring. Which had to be assembled due to the design of my request. Jon did an excellent job of keeping in contact with me as he searched for the Sapphire. He did an excellent job of creating the ring I requested, but but also manage to surpass my expectations. The ring is truly magnificent, my bride to be is incredibly happy, she has told me more than several times that the ring is the most beautiful ring she has ever seen.

Jon is wonderful! He's knowledgeable, trustworthy, and a pleasure to work with. I had some earrings I wanted repurposed and he came up with a great design. His work is beautiful and he can help you find jewelry to fit your personal style. I can't recommend highly enough!

We've been going to TDC Jewelry for some time and Jon never disappoints on the quality, the uniqueness of the items he carries, and the customer service. We've found that if you want the usual, go somewhere else, if you want a great price, great pieces and choices, and a great environment, go to TDC. My coworker recommended me to TDC jewelry and John helped me out big time. He was very informative and helped me understand everything about the diamond. I had very little knowledge of diamonds and he was very patient with me to explain everything. Did not feel rushed or pushed at all. After giving him specifics on what I was looking for, he brought in some diamonds and we checked each one thoroughly.

He took his time explaining the 4 C's and explain what he viewed as most important in the diamonds. I purchased an engagement ring from TDC Jewelry and I couldn't be more pleased! Jon, the owner, is the most thorough, honest and helpful jeweler I have met. He explained everything detail of the diamond selection process with patience and ease. After meeting with several independent jewelers, I approached Jon with photos of rings my fiance liked. Due to my own lack of forsight, I had little time before the planned proposal.

He personally selected diamonds from his vendors and expedited delivery so we could review his top selections with with one another. To add, the band we wanted didn't exist with his vendors so he and his shop designed and created the perfect setting with an unbelievably rapid turnaround time so I could have it before our trip. As a result of TDC's hard work and thoughtfulness, we ended up with the perfect diamond in a stunning custom-made setting at an excellent price. It was exactly what we had hoped. We will be purchasing our wedding bands from TDC when the time arrives.

I first came to TDC 11 years ago when I was shopping for engagement rings. Scared about making a poor decision the owner John was there to provide me an education and a no pressure sales experience that was inline with my budget and what I wanted to give. I have been going back since (except one time and I still regret that). The service is impeccable and friendly.

The staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. In the end, I trust John to help me make decisions on jewelry, something I don't know much about. I look forward to making many more purchases. Everyone should have a guy, this is my jewelry guy. You should make it yours too.

I went to TDC a few months ago, looking for an engagement ring for my girlfriend of 8 years. I was pretty nervous and wanted to find the perfect ring, and having just done some basic research I didn't know much of what I wanted. Jon was extremely helpful, patient, and knowledgable, and helped me find an absolutely amazing stone. Needless the say, the fiance is obsessed. Success.

After many visits to a variety of jewelers all around Chicagoland looking for the perfect engagement ring, we found TDC after a quick Yelp search. Scratching our heads wondering how we could have missed this jeweler who was just a couple of store fronts down from our local grocery store, we ventured in. We were promptly greeted by Jon who was assisting a long-term customer (repeat business is always a good sign).

We browsed the selection of engagement rings as he wrapped up with the woman before us and prepared to settle in to try a variety of rings looking for the one. Jon patiently presented a variety of bands as he tried to get a sense of my future fiancee's style (oops. Should've given a spoiler alert there). After just a couple of rings Jon recognized he likely didn't have her style in stock and instead directed us to the websites of a couple of designers he sourced bands from - BINGO!

That evening we found "the one" and I worked with Jon to procure the diamond that would be perfect for the setting. In the meantime, he had a sample of the setting flown in and we were now able to see potential diamonds in the perfect setting - brilliant! Jon was very easy to work with and didn't come across as high-pressure. It was an extremely comfortable buying experience and the ability to identify a setting that wasn't on site at the time turned out to be the piece no other jeweler had been able to deliver for us.

We'd been to several jewelers before being referred to TDC. When purchasing an engagement ring one can be very anxious and excited. When we stopped in and talked to Jon we gave him an idea on what we were looking for and our budget. Once my then future fiance explained to Jon what she wanted I set up an appointment to look at some diamonds. This is where TDC is different from the other Jewelers we've been to.

At other places they always seemed to pull out the most expensive stones possible and try to hard sell you. Jon had the carat weight we wanted and shipped in several stones with the best cuts possible varying in carat weight (yet extremely close to what we wanted) clarity and color. I was able to stay within reason to our budget and didn't get a hard sell on something more expensive.

I truly feel that I got more for my money than if I had bought a ring in the loop and shipped it out of state. There isn't the huge markup on what they sell. I felt very comfortable making this purchase and will recommend TDC to anyone in the market for an engagement/wedding ring. or really any other jewelry items.

I never thought it would be so easy. Getting ready to buy an engagement ring, I started asking people I knew that recently went through the process where they got their ring. TDC was highly recommended, so I figured I should drive out there from downtown. I met the owner on a saturday morning and felt very comfortable. He educated me on the things i should focus on when buying a diamond (i had a small amount of knowledge from online researching, but its so much easier to understand in the store).

I had some ideas of what my g/f wanted and he was able get a nice variety for me to pick from. When i came in for the purchase, he had about 6 diamonds laid out in the quality and price range i was looking at. Sure enough, even as he was bring them over, one stood out right away. I looked them all over for a bit but finally said, "i really like that one, what do you think?" and his response "I think you have a good eye." There was never a push to make me buy the one at the highest end of my price range, it was all about "the one" that stands out.

I was thrilled! I had been saving for some time, so the whole time I thought picking out the diamond was going to be the hardest part. After working with them, it wasnt at all. We have gone back now to look at wedding bands for myself and my fiance. I will continue to recommend them to all of my Chicago friends!

Should get zero! Awful customer service. We bought my wedding band here. It was a Simon G. When it broke- literally the largest paisley with yellow diamonds set into it cracked off while I was clapping- they insulted me. A woman said, "it's not that expensive of a ring anyway." If any amount of money spent is treated that way, it is clear the place doesn't respect it's clients.

This is the most important piece of jewelry I will own and I love it. I just wanted it repaired- without being disrespected. I was actually speechless. It's not like I asked them for a new ring. I had the piece that broke off. Awful. And Simon G should be appalled at TDC. Another jeweler gladly helped me with kindness and understanding. I will never be back.

Save yourself. They'll take your money. That's it. UPDATE: I was going to let this go, but I can't. I have NOT owned this ring for several years. I have been married for TWO years, so that's how long I owned it before it broke. The owner of TDC never asked (when I called him back), but in his response here made it seem like I had some old piece of jewelry I wanted fixed. (And, even if I did - they should still be nice and concerned about it!) How about an, "Oh my goodness, that's awful.

You must be so upset." NOT a judgement on the piece I purchased. Here's another perspective: the customer should be treated with respect. Hey, maybe even ask them their name.

TDC Jewelry is one of those reliable local retailers that simply combines good old-fashioned customer service along with a compact selection of varied jewelry. The store is tucked away into a medium size Northwest Suburban mall (lifestyle, not a dated enclosed one) along with some other major anchor stores. The floor space isn't overwhelming, which is good, as it definitely accentuates their focus on providing an intimate customer/merchant experience. You'll find the common brands here but also some up-and-coming jewelry designers as well.

Price ranges for their products vary dramatically so I think it is safe to say their is something for everyone here. They also have a custom side to their business which I don't know too much about but is definitely worth exploring for anyone seeking custom work. Ultimately, one of the most noteworthy attributes of TDC is their focus on the customer.

From the moment you walk into their store, you become their focus. But take note: this is the type of attention that makes you comfortable, NOT the type that makes you squirm. While I wasn't around in the 40's and 50's, this style of service has a welcomed retro vibe to it. And it is certainly way more pleasing than the pushy salespeople at mass-merchant powerhouses like Jared or Zales.
