Went to discuss my engagement ring I was selling. Remi is a doll and made my experience welcoming. Scott was very helpful and friendly. These two went above and beyond to be able to get me to have a meeting with dawn. Dawn was very educated in her craft with jewelry. She had explained everything I needed to know and more about understanding my ring that I have. The people at this store are wonderful it's a great atmosphere in there. In the future I will be going here for any jewelry purchases.

This is a very tough review for me. As a customer, I was impressed with the consistent above and beyond customer service! So much so that I patronized this company for 5 years. HOWEVER! As an employee, I was subjected to a toxic work culture. They are by far the most unprofessional employer I have ever had.

Don't trust putting anything on hold with this company. MARY at Albany Glen Peters will happily accept payments on held jewelry, sell the jewelry to someone else, then tell you she is keeping your money spent as a holding fee. She received 600+ dollars for her schemes just from myself alone. This was two years ago but I'm certain she's still at it.

My family and I have bought many pieces of jewelry from them over the past 3 years and had sizing, repairs, and odds and ends done to our jewelry, they are so polite and have wonderful prices. I will continue to come for many years to come specially Mary, Lynn, and Rudy have always been the most help. I love the whole team. I always feel a sense of pride wearing there jewelry!

Stopped in here today to have a watch band that I received as a gift adjusted because it was too large. I needed to have two links taken out. I figured I might get charged, especially because the band was for an Apple Watch and neither the watch nor band was purchased there. It was about 10 minutes before someone was available. Matt assisted me, and with the watch band in hand as he was walking into the back he said "It's 10 dollars per link, is that alright?" That seems excessive to me.
It took him all of five minutes to remove both links. There was a long quote on the wall and part of it referenced offering their customers "competitive prices" - I think you'd be hard pressed to find any reputable jeweler in the area that would charge $20 or more to remove two watch links. The service was great. Matt was very nice and he polished the band and the Apple watch after he was finished. Here's a suggestion, rather than looking to maximize the amount of revenue you can generate from a 10-15 minute encounter maybe charge a flat $10 fee or nothing at all and look to make your money on the more substantial purpose.

I have been a customer since 2002. The staff at Glen Peter are very helpful & will work with you to make it right. Both my husband & I bought our wedding rings & my Engagement ring last year after having a terrible time else where. Dawn & Matt were especially helpful during that process of buying the rings. Other staff have been helpful as well.

We had purchased our wedding rings from Dawn at the Colonie Center Store before they closed and we followed her to Clifton Park. They are absolutely "no pressure" sales, an incredibly clean store, and genuinely interested in your opinion/feelings towards your purchase. They have everything from $50 options to $10,000 options. I will be using this location to, SLOWLY, build my wife collection of real/fancy jewelry. Dawn listen to her opinions and helped make a "Wish list" I can use to make purchases in the future. Definitely recommend, ask for Dawn.

My family purchased me a beautiful garnet ring from Glennnpeter diamond center on Central Ave. I needed to follow back up in order to get it sized. I live out of town, and I went in and Paula Pierro worked very hard to ensure the ring was re sized within the hour, so I would have it safe with me, when returning home. Wonderful customer service!

This review is not about the jewelry - it is for recognizing an organization that gives so much back to the community - the Diamond Center is a lovely location chock full of beautiful things - but perhaps the most beautiful of all is that they host wine tastings with food and fundraise for charities - their Wall of Love has tiles from countless organizations they have helped. And, yes, while you are enjoying chats and beverages and food, you can stroll around the store with a discount during the event you are attending.
It is a great way to get people into a jewelry shop who might not normally enter one - but the personnel there, especially Paula, are really customer-focused and all about the community. They have given MILLIONS in donations!

My wife brittani and I spent 10k on an engagement ring here. It has lost multiple diamonds within a couple times of wearing it. She had to have it fixed 3 times so far. The ring turns her finger green. She no longer wants to even wear the ring because it is missing diamonds and broken looking more then is fixed and she is embarrassed that it looks like this and her finger is green.
We wanted to return the ring for a refund and were told no. They only want to fix it and give it back. We have been ripped off and will never purchase or reccomend glen Peter's to anyone.

My husband purchased my engagement ring from Glennpeter, and we also got our wedding bands here. Mary and Tracey were wonderful to work with and provided us with fair prices on all of our pieces. We actually purchased the rings from their Clifton Park location which is a small fraction of the size of this store, but have since had multiple services done here.
Since being married, both ladies are now working at this location as well, so it's been great to see familiar faces. I have a warranty on both my engagement ring and wedding band, and part of that includes having your ring inspected twice a year. I've gone in a few times to have that done now, and have had nothing but great experiences. The process takes maybe 10 minutes, and they then proceed to clean your ring, making it look super sparkly and new.
They even return it to you atop a silver Hershey kiss, a nice touch. Another service I had done at Glennpeter was having to have my wedding band cut off while pregnant. As awful as this sounds, it really wasn't THAT bad. The removal actually did seem to take a while, due to my band being pretty thick. But once I gave birth and had it resized, you cannot whatsoever tell that it was ever cut off.
The store itself is absolutely beautiful. Everything sparkles (obviously that's the point). They have a lounge area as well as a bar area, and I believe a private room to host parties (interesting concept). I haven't had the urge to purchase a new piece of fine jewelry, but if I do, I will for sure be returning here.

Great jewelry store. Service was great. I worked with one their jewelers to design a custom ring for my wife and it was a great experience. The guy I worked with was super cool and you could tell he genuinely loved what he did and he kept in touch with me throughout the experience. He would send me proofs and I'd make changes to fit the vision I had in my head and he never once got upset or frustrated with me.
He took my drawing I did on paper and converted it the software. The diamonds I wanted were pretty rare and they actually went to jewel show down in NYC to get exactly what I wanted. Since we purchased the ring, they've done the warranty check ups 2 times per year and on one occasion they had to replace a few diamonds on the band's of he pave set and the turnaround was quick. Overall a great experience.

My husband and I came to Glennpeter last weekend. A saleswoman finally approached us after looking around for 15 minutes. A little pushy, but friendly. We were really turned off by the sales associate sleeping behind a small wall right smack in the middle of the sales floor. The lack of professionalism was blatant.

5 stars is not enough to thank Glennpeter Jewelers for their exceptional service during my engagement ring purchase. Amanda worked with me every step of the way, going above and beyond to make sure the ring was exactly what my fiance wanted. She did not pressure me, was understanding of my budget, and made the overall experience as stress free as possible (the complimentary blue moons helped too). I would highly recommend a trip to this jewelry story for anyone who's looking to propose!

This is my second review of this location- my first experience with our wedding bands was so bad I think yelp has designated my review as fake (totally wasn't). So, finally went back to give this place a shot shopping for a watch for my husband for Christmas. The store was busy with an event but I was approached within a minute or two of walking in and asked if I needed help.
I had worked all day and was lugging around my 10 month old son looking a complete mess and had wondered if I would be taken seriously and acknowledged as a customer. I'm pleased I was. The sales clerk showed me various watches in the budget range I gave her and actually called over a male associate she admitted was more knowledgeable than herself to help make recommendations and model selections.
We were able to find a Movado watch that was out of my initial budget but that I loved and negotiate the price down to a place somewhere between retail and online where I was comfortable. I was also told that it could be sized and engraved for free as part of the "deal." When hubby and I went back and got it sized it turned out there was too much on the back of the watch to get it engraved :( A bummer, but I should have known just by looking.
We were able to give them a second watch to send out and be fixed which was exciting as we weren't sure it'd be possible or worth it. I'm hoping maybe when that watch comes back I can get it engraved since I wasn't able to get the other (and that had been a selling point for me). We'll see. Anyway, the Movado I got my husband is gorgeous and he loves it.
It now fits perfectly, our wedding bands and another ring I was wearing are sparkling like crazy as they polished them while we waited for the watch to be sized, and Glennpeter has redeemed itself. I'm happy about that because it really is a beautiful place and atmosphere to shop. The one star ding is just because of the engraving issue- while I should have noticed it, the sales associate should have known that brand of watch is too "busy" to be engraved. But we all overlook things once in a while.

Sorry to say I didn't have a good experience here tonight (maybe not so sorry). The boyfriend and I went in to look at engagement rings for the first time and was never approached for the first 10 minutes. Finally a nice young man greeted us and asked if anyone was helping us. After saying no he asked if we just got there. We again said no and he apologized, then offered us a beverage (wine, beer, water).
He asked how he can help and after telling him why we were there he showed us where to look. He was very nice and said he would be back to go over a few things with us. Well, he was helping someone else and got busy with them so we just looked around for a while. No one else approached us the whole time we were there (30 minutes). There were 3 other employees there (besides the man helping us), talking and laughing amongst themselves, the whole time.
My boyfriend and I became upset over the non-customer service and left. I had high hopes for Glennpeter's and was VERY disappointed. We won't be returning and definitely won't be buying our rings here. 2 stars only because we were approached by a nice young man who attempted to help us.

My experience at Glennpeter, and with Ryan specifically, could not have been more fantastic. I came here to purchase an engagement ring, and I had several very specific attributes that I wanted the ring to possess. However, these attributes were not necessarily complementary of one another, or likely to coexist in a single ring. Nevertheless, Ryan patiently wrote down everything that I was looking for, and proceeded to show me a gorgeous array of rings.
He dealt honestly with me, and at no point did he give me the hard sell or pressure me to buy something more expensive. A customer buying an engagement ring is incredibly vulnerable, but rather than take advantage, Ryan and his colleagues were totally straightforward. In fact, they made several crucial suggestions to optimize the ring's appearance that actually lowered the overall price tag.
The ring needed to be special ordered, so Ryan promised to keep me updated throughout the process. And he kept his word more conscientiously than I ever thought possible. He informed me, via text, e-mail, and/or phone call, every time there was a development. I had some timing considerations, so he convinced the manufacturer to push the completion date forward by nearly a week.
It was clear that he was as committed to getting everything perfect as I was, and he succeeded brilliantly. In the end, Ryan was one of the first people to whom I sent a post-proposal picture. At Glennpeter, I have not simply gained a trustworthy jeweler; I have gained a reliable and supportive friend. For a major jewelry purchase, you would be crazy to go anywhere else.

I had a lovely experience. The staff is so friendly. Someone greeted me at the door and directed me right away to a staff member who could help me. Everyone was so nice and very helpful. Drinks are offered to you while making your purchases.it's a great environment. Allen was very helpful in making it a wonderful experience for my fiance and I.
We were able to have the ring customized to be exactly what she wanted. Allen made this all happen. I would recommend everyone to make their next purchase from here. Thanks so much again!

When my fiance and I started looking at engagement rings 4 years ago we had horrible experience after horrible experience with other well known jewlery stores in the area that is until we stopped in and met Nick Stone out of your Colonie Center store two weeks before Christmas. Unlike all the other jewlery stores in the area Nick personally took the time to concentrate on us and wanted to learn our story.
He took the time to listen to our budget and didn't pressure my fiance to buy a ring that day. Especially when I fell in love with one particular ring that was right in our budget. To my surprise I found my ring wrapped up in my stocking that Christmas. My fiance told me that Nick was fantastic all the way to the very end of the transaction. We wish he was still there.
We love your Colonie Center for this positive reason and one more not so positive experience. When we went looking for our wedding bands months later we decided to stop into the Diamond Center. It was a horrible experience! We didn't get the same friendly atmosphere as we did from Nick Stone. The gentleman that helped us introduced himself at first and asked what we were looking for, ?
We informed him that we were looking for bands in a certain budget and he kept showing us rings that were way more than we could afford. He didn't seem to want to pay attention to us and was constantly looking at his cell phone. When we told him that we were just looking today he told us excuse me for a minute and left us to talk on his cell phone and other staff in the store. he never came back.
My fiance and I waited a good while before we decided to leave. On our way out I did leave a message with someone to please have the owner call me regarding my bad experience especially after having such a wonderful experience months prior. I waited for a call back and decided to call when I didn't hear back from the owner, A manager who I spoke with didn't seem to really care about our experience and then proceeded to say to me "Well we can go in the back and beat him".
I was completely disgusted by the statement and that he would talk to customer that way. I did speak to another manager who called on behalf of the owner and apologized but I wish the owner had taken the initiative on the call after I asked for him to please call me. We have vowed to not return to your Diamond Centre which is a shame because I had nothing but good things to say up until that point.
After that point we decided that maybe our best best is to just go to a different jewler for our bands and have to settle on sterling silver my band :. I have found that Colonie Center has been the better of your two stores. The staff at Colonie Center seem to really care about their customers. We currently have someone in Colonie Center trying to help me find a reasonably priced wedding band for me to match the white gold one my fiance bought from Nick because she didn't want to see me have such a beautiful ring from Glennpeter and then settle on sterling silver.
She is trying so hard and I commend her on that because still today she is unable to find one at a price we can afford with my part time job. Her name is either Paula or Diane sales rep 033. I can't quite remember. But she does deserve kudos. I was given the owners cell number but had already left messages by both myself and other salesman to have him call me and was tired of trying.
Several staff including Her have left notes about my experience for the owner but I still haven't heard anything, I just hope she is able to find a band that matches my ring based on what she knows about our engagement story and our budget! Praying hard!

If I could give Glennpeter 10 stars I would. My fiance got my engagement ring here and several other pieces of jewelry and every piece of jewelry I have from them is not only beautiful, but everyone there has been sweet and super helpful! When my fiance was looking for my engagement ring last year, they worked with him for over a month to find the perfect setting!
They go above and beyond what any other jeweler would do! Specifically, Allen Johnson, the manager at the Diamond Centre will move mountains to get you what you want! I had the pleasure of dealing with him daily for the past week and he was always available and professional! If you need any type of jewelry I would recommend going to Glennpeter Diamond Centre over anywhere else!

This place is especially dear to my fiance and I's hearts because its where he got the engagement ring. My fiance found this place after researching where to get my engagement ring. I was surprised when he took me here to get an idea of what I liked and to get my size-I was totally expecting a little corner shop in a mall. This place is very grand-it's almost ALMOST like the entrance of Tiffany's-there are tall pillars with a vaulted ceiling-which gives it a spacious and grandiose feel.
There is also a fireplace in one corner with a lounge couch. Not to mention there is a bar with a mounted flat television. The service was incredibly helpful, friendly and very personable. We actually got help fro the owner which was surprising to us. We told him we were getting an engagement ring and my fiance knew what kind he wanted so he helped us to that area and told us about the need to knows of diamonds. After, we got complimentary wine to celebrate! It was just a lovely experience. We will be going back to get our wedding bands here!
