Daniel R. Spirer: Designer Of Fine Jewelry

Contacted this jeweler (and offered compensation) for assistance determining a correct size for a ring, and also to look at his showroom as I have a stone to be set and am in the process of selecting a jeweler to set it. Received the most blustery, rude email reply stating that he didn't resize rings not his own, etc., which was *not* what I was asking for, and he did not seem at all interested in meeting with me to show work or discuss a commission. That was all I needed to know. Not recommended whatsoever.

Daniel has helped me with two very special projects. Repairing my Grandmother's gold ring including replacing the missing coral stone, and rebuilding my eternity wedding band out of platinum because the white gold was causing an allergic reaction. I trust him to do a great job, make thoughtful suggestions and be careful with sentimental pieces.

My mother and father had their wedding bands made here in the '80s, so when my now-spouse and I were in the area and shopping for our own (in 2019), we were thrilled that Daniel was willing to make them as well! He did a fantastic job -- and even produced handwritten receipts from when he made my parents rings so we could read them. It was an amazing experience.

I recently took my engagement ring for a new setting and couldn't be happier. Daniel worked with me to find the perfect setting and the work is impeccable. I will definitely shop again for an additional band to wear with it! Edit: I did go back and get an additional band. Another example of beautiful workmanship! He told me he sends out a reminder for a cleaning every six months and guarantees his stones as long as you bring it in during that time. Not to mention that you can bring your jewelry in any time to keep it clean and sparkly! I'm addicted and can't wait to go back for my next piece.

Beautiful. Lasting quality of stones and the workmanship. Oh so special in the designs. Intelligent maker. Not that I've bought a lot of jewelry, but my good jewelry, our wedding rings are by Daniel. He's so good.

We first went to Daniel to resize my engagement ring. When it didn't fit perfectly after wearing it home, I brought it back and he resized it again without charging any more. Because the experience was so great, we went back to have my husband's grandfather's wedding band resized, which he did while still keeping the original inscription intact. Daniel also made my wedding band, which after a few months I realized wasn't exactly what I wanted.

When I went back to talk with him about making changes, he recommended how many stones + what setting was best, and I ended up with the perfect wedding band. Ziggy the shop dog is a little standoffish, but he's still super cute and allowed me to pet him once so that's a win in my book!

Daniel is an expert jeweler who has done work for me in the past (resizing an antique engagement ring, resetting stones, appraisal, advice/recommendations, etc.) His prices are fair and he always gives accurate time estimates for how long the work will take.

A very unpleasant experience here. I brought a ring that perhaps did not meet his criteria for what he considered acceptable jewelry but had sentimental meaning for me in that it had been my mother's and over 100 years old. He was contemptuous, dismissive and actually completely wrong about what was wrong about the ring. ( I even was nice to the dog). My daughter had a much more positive interaction with her more valuable ring so perhaps he only responds to value and/or younger customers.

This post has been long overdue. My (now) husband and I purchased both of our rings here- engagement ring and bands. Daniel's craftsmanship is exquisite and he definitely knows his stuff. You really don't need to worry about your stones falling out (the horror!) of your band as his work is beautiful and meant to last. I get compliments on my engagement ring ALL THE TIME and it is all because of Daniel. He also has a great insurance policy too! He stands by his work, point blank and it is simply beautiful. He is a true artisan, go there you won't be disappointed!

We just received our wedding bands from Danny and WOW.they are incredible! Not only are they absolutely beautiful- but they are also hand crafted by the business owner to our exact liking. It was quite difficult to select the rings we wanted to purchase because there were so many unique options that we loved. We received the highest level of customer service throughout our selection process and he was able to hand craft our rings for us on a very short timeline.

We really can't say enough about how wonderful our experience has been and we recommend Danny to anyone who wants a high quality gorgeous piece of jewelry from a jeweler who is willing to go the extra mile!

My husband and I had a great experience with Daniel. We love our rings and were able to find something a bit more unique (for me) and more classic (for him) to accommodate our different tastes. We were referred to Daniel by friends of ours who had bought gorgeous, one-of-a-kind wedding rings that Daniel had designed. He customized my sapphire-and-diamond band to fit with the engagement ring my husband had purchased from another jeweler (it fits perfectly).

We found Daniel to be friendly with a good sense of humor, and he listened very attentively to help us find exactly what we were looking for. I couldn't recommend him enough--I'm so happy with my ring!

I came in and took up a bunch of Daniel's time several times before we finally worked out what he was going to do for the engagement ring I wanted to get for my now fiance. He was very polite and spent so much of his valuable time with me I really appreciated it. I actually ended up enjoying the ring shopping that I had been dreading for months.

I was so excited to see the finished ring he was making; it actually helped slow down time while I finished my Ph. D. dissertation! In the end I had a beautiful ring that was one of a kind, and I felt like I had some part in its creation, though I am afraid I possess none of the skills to have actually made it. :- I was also surprised at how fairly priced the ring was, he really gives you a much better product for very comparable prices to a mass produced ring.

He will always be a special person for me; he was the first person I told that I was going to propose, and the first to congratulate me on getting engaged. He did it when we first met! I think he has a pretty good track record with his clients having success with proposals!

When I started shopping for an engagement ring, I was not looking forward to it. My parents are lawyers, and they had sued a "reputable" chain jeweler for something that should have been filed by the prosecutor, because it was downright criminal. Therefore, I was very skeptical going into ring shopping. However, I eventually found Danny and I was first taken by how I really liked the unique rings on his website unlike the mass produced ones that all looked the same.

I then went on to read pretty much every entry he had written on his blog, I stayed up until 4 A.M. the night I found it reading, and by the time I was done I felt like he was a friend of mine. I then went in to meet him and got to know him even better. He is honest, passionate, and skilled with his work. My now fiance and I are engineers, and I came into Daniel's shop thinking I wanted to buy a synthetic (lab grown, but real) diamond for the engagement ring.

I thought it would be really neat, and thought my girlfriend would think it was cool as well. He told me the reasons why he didn't recommend it, and things to be careful about, but said if that is what I wanted to do, he would be happy to set it into one of his rings. I ended up doing some more research, and decided he was right from the beginning. I ended up buying an ideal cut natural diamond from him instead. I ended up with a fairly priced, custom made, and very beautiful engagement ring.

We bought our wedding rings 26 years ago from Dan, and he has stood by his jewelry ever since. We went back on our tenth anniversary to ask for him to make us custom rings cut from the same band of gold. People in all sorts of places have recognized his work! He is a gifted artist, and always fusses over his rings when we come to have them cleaned (now from out of state), but I know that's because he cares passionately about his work. If your focus is customer service go to a chain. If you want beautiful jewelry that will last, go see Dan.

This is the place to go to get beautiful jewelry locally, period. Daniel worked with me patiently to get what I really wanted out of a design for a ring. I'm so thrilled with the results. Excellent quality, excellent experience. I recommend this place to everybody.

I cannot speak to the quality of the jewelry, only to the customer service. I went in to have an engagement ring resized, and the owner managed to insult my ring, where I bought it, and my hand. He was unwilling to size the ring the way I requested (I wanted it slightly bigger than what he thought was best). He clearly was not interested in my business. If I had been interested in buying our wedding bands from him, I certainly am not now.

I had an amazing experience here. We went in looking for an engagement ring and I fell in love with this artists' work. Mr. Spirer was great to work with, stands by the quality of his work and sourcing of the stones (I recommend reading his blog its pretty great). He even helped me rework something when what I requested was not what I wanted in the end, that kind of customer service you will not find anywhere else. I am so pleased with the ring and can't wait to return for our bands!

Absolutely outstanding. Daniel is a true artist. My fiance and I looked at many jewelry stores in Boston (shopping around for an engagement ring) before coming upon Daniel Spirer. His work is gorgeous and he is completely meticulous. Daniel also is very willing to work with you to customize your jewelry. I wanted a bezel setting for my ring, and he incorporated that request beautifully into one of his setting designs. I've received so many compliments on my engagement and wedding rings.

I also really appreciated that he was very upfront about the metals and stones that he uses - we know exactly what we got, unlike many other jewelry stores. Highly recommend, and I would go back there in a second. I only wish this had been our first stop! Everything was also completed on time and exactly as requested.

My engagement ring came from Spirer. It is fabulous and I love it. My husband picked it out, but it was the wrong size. I was made a new one. This allowed me to redesign it a bit. Every time I look at the ring it makes me smile. I was worried that it was perhaps too original and I might not love it the same over time. I love it more. I wear a piece of art on my finger every day. He also made our wedding bands. He is honest and direct. You can design your own pieces as well as purchase his amazing art work.

Daniel is a very gifted jeweler and a gem to work with. My husband and I have several pieces from Daniel, including my engagement ring and both our wedding bands. In all, he has created four pieces for us. In each case, he worked with us to create a design and then created exactly what we'd had in mind. His designs are beautiful and unusual.

Beautiful jewelry, crafted by an artist of the highest order. When my husband-to-be took me to Dan Spirer the first time, I was less than enthusiastic about the 21st century stone-floating-in-space design of the engagement ring he'd selected. But Dan picked up on the difference between my taste and my fiance's, noticed the things in the case to which I was drawn, and by adding detail to the original spare design, came up with a ring that was truly mine, reflecting my rather more old-fashioned tastes (not to mention my love for roses).

When I was presented with the finished product, I could not believe my eyes -- 12 years later, I am still proud as a peacock to sport this exquisite ring on my finger, it never fails to draw compliments and comments. I cannot recommend Dan highly enough, only wish we had more money to spend there!
