I recently went into capital pawn to check things out with my wife and was greeted by James behind the counter who was very helpful. My wife found a pair of silver earrings that she just had to have and James was very knowledgeable about everything in the store so we decided to buy them and went across the street to Fred Meyers to buy some groceries and wouldn't you know the checker at the sales counter made a comment about the earrings to my wife and it made her whole day! Great service great prices and great people at capital pawn!

Came in with my girlfriend and duaghter to do some looking around. Excellent customer service by James. Totally family friendly environment and plenty of unique items to see.

Linus was super helpful with the process of buying my rifle and my friends new shotgun. Super knowledgeable guy and very personable. Their crew is very polite and helpful as well. They always seem to have something interesting on their shelf's.

Offering great and timely service, this pawn shop proves why it is rated as best in the Willamette Valley. The staff have pertinent and extensive knowledge on jewlery, firearms, instruments, and much more. Each trip is enjoyable, and I often find myself excited to return. Whenever I have any questions, there is no shortage on answers. James, Cameron, Linus, Allie, and Jason are excellent staff who have helped with my questions and allowed me to reach practical solutions.

This happened in January. These people are rude and very deceptive, slanderous and defaming, Went into do a background check for a new rifle. They informed me that the background check is 10-14 days out. I asked them how do I ensure the Gun I want to buy is still in stock, they said that I could either pay for it in full now, or put down a non refundable deposit.

They told me that if I had a CCW/CHL that the background goes faster. Which doesnt makes sense in the USA, My rights are given to me by GOD, not a man. Knowing how corrupt the OSP are, I decided to not do the background check there and potentially throw away money. Ive known Former retired police officers get denied, because of an unknown parking ticket. Ive heard through some of my friends in the Gun community, that they(Jason) slandered my name because I took my business elsewhere. They are leaving themselves open to lawsuits and losing their FFL.

Phenomenal experience at my local pawn shop today! Allie helped me find a beautiful 10k gold chain that fit my needs. They have done some updating since I was last in and I really enjoyed looking at all of the lighted jewelry cases. My friend bought a handgun and the process was quick and easy. Highly recommend!

Excellent customer service. All I have to say is that the staff here are extremely friendly and helpful. Especially James, he's extremely knowledgeable about all the products, and helpful with any curveball questions. Honestly between the humor, attention to detail, and the knowledge of products, I don't believe I could do business with any other pawn shop. The customer service is impeccable and far exceeds the low standard I hold most others to. Great shop, excellent selection, and amazing staff. You need more like James!

James and Chachi took great care of my wife and I! The interior is up kept and modern with items being relatively new or brand new. One of the best pawn shops I've been too.

Recently bought a gun from here. Great selection! Friendly staff! Ideal pawn shop I like. Paid a fair price. Had one hiccup after purchase but Cameron at the gun counter was more than willing to help. Hard to find business like that anymore, especially pawn shops. They care about their customers, reputation and their honesty and customer follow-up earned their 5 stars. Thanks fellas, will be back in!

Had such a great experience today at Capital Pawn. My husband purchased a Dewalt mitre saw and my 12 yr old purchased a HP chrome book. Both were at a great price and a discount on top of that for their Anniversary sale. James was the gentleman that helped us with the computer purchase. All staff were friendly, knowledgeable and did a wonderful job in answering any questions.

Store was clean, items were beautifully displayed and signage ( prices, specs) was visible. I perused the handbag selection and talked with the associate who was sprucing up the displays. She was kind and was fun to just chat with. The handbags were elegantly displayed and they have a wide selection of designer brands. We felt welcome and enjoyed our shopping trip. The best pawn shop I have ever been too thus far. We will be returning soon.

I've purchased numerous items from Adam and his staff in past years and always nothing but professional courteous and knowledgeable attention. Two years ago I made a major purchase from Elliot. Last Saturday from Josh and today my biggest purchase yet from Salena(sp) along with James. Again, nothing but professional and courteous attention through and through.

Very accommodating too - within reason of course. BTW, Capital Pawn makes it a point to research and do background checks on many of the products they sell. It's added assurance to me and my buying confidence. I highly recommend Capital Pawn.

The staff was not friendly, the prices are not negotiable, they sell stuff you cant test and are charging too much, I shop at Pawn shops so that I'm able to get good customer service and a good deal, neither of which I got when I went today

They took my old wedding rings and said that they were only worth $400. I accepted. I wanted a louie vuitton purse in exchange. They told me that they always send an email or text telling me my payment was due received nothing. The same week I was there I drove by and the place was boarded up due to a fire I looked up online and there was a statesman journal article about the fire.

It did not mention anything About them being open for business. I never received anything from them saying that my payment was due or that they were still open for business. I kept driving by during different errands over the next few months and still boarded up. I finally stopped one day and there was a van behind the building and people were talking I waited until my turn I was taken inside and I was told because I waited so long I had given up all rights.

I remember signing something like that but never expected a fire and thought due to the fire they were closed. I think that they would have made some kind of exception and they never got ahold of me. The man I talked to said they sent something to me. I wasn't going to argue, but they took advantage and took my wedding rings that we paid over$4000. For. Don't trust them they rip you off.

They do not send email or text. I looked and waited to see something. I had no idea anyone was there at the location. It did not show that they were open. Bad business expect nothing from them if you work with them make sure that you have an alarm and calendar payment down bottom line they just took my wedding rings and said sorry about that! Bad experience.

Never going back I wanted to get rid of my exes rings. I did but thought I should have been allowed to still purchase a purse. They didn't even offer that in fact said they didn't have stock there which I understand after a fire, but they could have shown me what they have online from the other stores I didn't even realize that they had other stores.

If I knew that I would have gone to a different store to find out about the fire and if they were still open or be able to make a payment at the other store s. I just felt like I was scammed and they offered nothing in return. Their was a fire and their was nothing on the business saying hey we're open? Horrible experience. They also said I would have to come back to see if there's anything that they can do for me since it's been so long or to see inventory.

Came in to checkout the place. Under the new management/owners they have it cleaned up and organized. I really like the make offer area. Pretty clever. Nice lady named Sarah welcomed us in. The staff were very helpful. Look forward to returning often.

Got a good deal on a camera here in the past. Probably because they low ball everyone on anything that's being brought in. Staff is hit and miss, some are friendly and some are rude. I don't think I will be back though. They low balled me and I would have taken the low ball price but she had attitude and just rubbed us the wrong way. We specifically went there to purchase a gun and didn't buy it because my husband didn't like her attitude.

They are absolutely ridiculous. They literally refused to buy gold from me even with the market being under 1300 an ounce. How bad are these guys hurting for money?.

I went in to see if I could sell some stuff, and the staff was very friendly. They weren't able to take what I had, but he was really honest and explained it was because the last item like it they had didn't sell for months. Overall, clean place where everyone is helpful!

Stopped in to purchase a rifle for hunting season. I just so happen to have an ex-girlfriends diamond ring in my car and decided to try and trade up for a rifle. Maria was helping me out; she was extremely helpful, polite, and understanding of what I was looking for. She gave me an honest opinion and did not push me to buy anything I didn't want, nor was she pushing for me to trade in the ring.

After looking through the selection of rifles on the wall and discussing things with Maria we came to an agreement on a nice rifle/scope combo. All said and done Maria decided to throw in a decent plastic case, sling and reduced cost on some ammo. All and all I was extremely happy with the customer service and honesty of the employees. Very friendly staff and extremely helpful. Thanks for the smooth transaction. I hope to do business again.

First time I dealt with these guys I had a gun I purchased on GunBroker sent to them since they have an FFL license. They were on top of their game and responded to all of my emails exceptionally fast, and called me the moment my gun came in. Upon going into the shop everyone was friendly, they had a very good selection of almost everything (especially guns), and overall I was really impressed.

This isn't one of those seedy, low life pawn shops like you might imagine. It's actually very nice inside, and the people who work there are very friendly and more than willing to deal. I'll continue to use these guys for their FFL, and buy guns (and other stuff from them) whenever they have something in that I need. All of the people who have left negative reviews are flukes, I can guarantee that.

My suggestion is do not come here. People are rude period and their prices are absolutely ridiculous. Pawned items at higher than retail price. Absolutely do not come here. Quality of pawned is mostly fair. I walked in just to check this place out. Not coming back.

I purchased an amplifier that was advertised as having been inspected and tested by Hear No Evil and being in perfect working order. Since I live in Olympia, WA and was planning to have the amplifier shipped to me without having a chance to audition it, I asked a lot of questions. The first red flag should have been when I was told there was no paperwork to validate this supposed "inspection", but Bryan, the sales guy. said "I stand behind it fully!".

All the online reviews I could find about Capital Pawn were generally positive, so I chose to take him at his word. When the amplifier arrived, 4 of the 6 channels had a bad distortion problem. I contacted Bryan and asked how he would like to resolve the issue, I offered to either return the amp for a refund or they could pay for repairs at a local stereo shop.

He chose the latter option and I took it to Desco AV, a trusted local repair shop I have used numerous times and they provided an estimate of $275-$375 before tax. Bryan offered to refund the low end of the estimate $300. I asked "What if the repairs are more than that?" and he said "We can work that out if that happens". Again, he seemed to be above board and so I took him at his word.

When the repairs were completed, they turned out to be at the high end of the estimate. I contacted Bryan and shared the receipt with him and asked him to refund the difference of $108 between what he had initially paid me and the actual cost of repairs. My first attempt to contact him was ignored for a week. When I contacted him again after that first week, his reply was "I believe we both agreed on the $300, correct?". Incorrect.

What I had said was "I would be satisfied with either a return/refund or your paying to have the amplifier repaired." At no point did I agree that it would be OK for me to pay for repairs for something that Capital Pawn advertised as being in good working order (I have a PDF of the Craigslist ad and e-mails from Bryan assuring it worked and he would "stand behind it fully"). Bryan also said that my shipping costs included insurance.

I do not think the amp would have such extensive problems (4 individual channels all damaged?) from shipping, but it is possible. If so, file a claim with the shipper, and get the money to cover the entire cost of repairs from them. Bryan refused to refund the additional money that I had to spend on repairs. Buyer beware.

Rude, ungratful to repeat customers. Remember your repeat, loyal customers. A smile goes a long way.

I live in the neighborhood so I poke my head in about once a week or so. Really nice shop that's clean and well staffed. I love buying video games and related equipment here their prices beat any other video game store in town. My beef with them though is their gun section. Old guy that's usually behind the counter is pretty ornery and isn't really honest with his stock or his prices. No, a Chinese SKS is not worth $500. Don't lie and say a gun that's been through a war has never been fired and price it as such.

A gun made in the 70's is not from the Korean war. I mean I hate to throw around strong words but I get the feeling that they don't really know what they're doing or they're just trying to part gullible people from their money. It's not all bad though, a few of their guns are fairly priced or a steal. I just find myself shaking my head half the time I see their selection.

Best pawn shop ever. Great, friendly staff which Is a huge plus. Inviting, spacious store with plenty of inventory and they always make me feel welcome. At other Pawn shops it feels like someones basement or garage, but at Capital Pawn it is well organized and neat. A+++

I have been wanting to come here for a long time. Shorty after I entered I was greeted by Brian. He told me a about a special they were running. Like them on Facebook and get a free DVD. The store is stocked full of goodies. They sell and buy everything. They have jewelry, gold, sliver, firearms, and electronics. Some of there prices are a little steep but the will negotiate, especially if you have cash. The staff is friendly and more then willing to help. The store is a nice place; not a like a skeezy pawn shop. Probably one of the best pawnshops in Salem.
