This place taught me a lesson on buying gold and silver, DON'T. They buy for the cost of gold and sell for the cost of the coin. So them selling a $220 a coin, turned into them buying it at $175 even though gold had gone up since I got the coins. Just buy bulk gold ingots, not gold eagles, same with silver. Loss in all departments, even though the price was higher, $135 loss with one transaction alone. That doesn't sound very reputable unless it's a negative reputation.

I happened to walk by this place on my way to Bank of America. I found a few coins at AJPM that I wanted and needed cash. While I was in there a customer mentioned he wanted to sell a very large amount of silver. I said casually, wow lots of big sales today! While at AJPM someone sold 12 x $1000 face value bags of junk silver. The employee at Alder was mad at me because I mentioned a competitors name, and was a real jerk. bad move to a paying customer!

I did buy a small gold coin as it was one I really wanted, but now regret it as I'm still mad. FYI to all - AJPM IS MUCH CHEAPER! more professional, and only a couple blocks away. If you are looking for selection check out Columbia Coin on Hawthorne. Both are better than this place. I won't be going back to Alder Gold Exchange, too many other BETTER choices.

Ron at Alder gold was very helpful and gave great deals on silver coins for my daughters collection. He hunted down his last two barber coins for me and he did it with a smile. I felt comfy it was up scale and I was in shorts and a t-shirt but never felt like it was too good for me I felt like part of the family at Alder gold.

Sold 3 gold coins here. I pulled up the new york spot price on my phone to see how much he was charging me and found it was negative! Walked out with cash less than 5 minutes after I'd entered. A lot easier than I expected it to be and convenietly located downtown.

My father sold a lot of coins - and was happy with his sale. Three days later - he received a note in the mail that said 2 of the sets were not originally counted - and a check with the difference! Very nice - very honest! I would not hesitate to do business here again!
