Just after the Second World War, Hans Wilsdorf knew that the time had come to expand and give the brand a proper identity of its own. Rolex would guarantee the technical, aesthetic and functional characteristics, along with the distribution and after-sales service. For some years now, I have been considering the idea of making a watch that our agents could sell at a more modest price than our Rolex watches, and yet one that would attain the standard of dependability for which Rolex is famous.I decided to form a separate company, with the object of making and marketing this new watch.

Left Skeie's Jewelers a chat message online the night before. Sarah W. from Skeie's contacted me the next morning to help locate a limited edition Seiko watch. Within minutes, I purchased their last stock item. I received it within 2 days, in clean packaging. Both the watch and watchcase were in pristine condition. Best online watch buying experience 100%. Always a wonderful experience at Skeie's. As a guy I'm not really at home in a Jewelry store but Sarah was extremely helpful throughout, and the result is a beautiful bracelet for my wife - she'll love it. Everyone at Skeie's is helpful even when they are busy (which they were today) and the selection is awesome. Besides, if they don't have it or have it in the wrong size they'll get it for you - you can't go wrong at Skeie's!

I had the best experience working with Hayley and the rest of the team at Skeie's. Hayley helped me select the perfect ring and walked me through all of the steps to have a family heirloom stone set in the ring and I couldn't be more pleased with how it turned out. I cannot say enough great things about Skeie's Jewelers and SA Andrew. The staff there is incredibly helpful, and I've yet to meet anyone in the business who are as friendly as the people at Skeie's. Andrew treated me like a long time customer, even though I happened to just be passing through the Eugene area. We ended up talking about watches for about an hour -- it was a breath of fresh air to be able to talk to someone who is also into the hobby without feeling rushed or pressured into a purchase. A few months later I was back to make my first (but definitely not last) purchase from Skeie's. I highly recommend that you check out Skeie's if you're in the area.

Andrew at Skeie's Jewelers is top notch in terms of professionalism, customer care, and watch knowledge! Just to share my experience. I had been eyeing a very popular Tudor model (BB58 in blue on bracelet) for about a year. I called around recently to other local ADs. One said they couldn't get me on a list unless I showed up in person, and another said that they hadn't received one for a few months.
Then at last, I called Skeie's and Andrew very excitedly told me they received two of them earlier that day. He even waived the reservation deposit since I didn't have my wallet with me, and promptly sent me the invoice showing that it was now on hold. I gladly took the 2.5 hour drive down to see them later that week. It was a testament to their popularity and service charm that they had sold out of every Rolex there.
There weren't even any in the display window. I was met with genuine enthusiasm by Andrew and his fantastic service. We talked about watches (he's a "watch nerd" too), he helped me with on-the-house Loctite and spring bar change for a watch I hadn't even purchased from them. He even got me on a list for a very coveted watch that other ADs likely wouldn't even consider doing.
He never made me feel like he was in a rush. In fact, I felt bad afterwards for trying to leave earlier to beat Portland traffic on the way back. I have nothing but positive regards and remarks for Skeie's and their apparently long history of customer care and loyalty.

Hayley is a wonderful associate. She listened to my requests and after waiting patiently I was pleasantly surprised that my special order had finally arrived and was available for me. This was my first stop in engagement ring shopping. I was immediately dismissed and ignored by the sales people. Literally got this face: when I walked in. I brought in some jewelry I inherited from my mom and I did not feel that the gemologist was respectful or kind, especially considering these were things that had belonged to my mom who died just last year.
She said among other things, "you won't get rich off these." (Which was never my stated or implied goal.) Having visited several other places since then and been treated with nothing but kindness and respect, it is even more apparent to me how out of line my treatment was here. There are many other jewelry stores in town. My recommendation would be to go to any of them first.

Place has a special place in my heart. Wife and I married in Oregon and got our wedding watches here years ago during our mini-moon. Been shopping here ever since, and refer all our friends to this place. Company is almost 100 years old and still in the family. Andrew, Donna, Ricks, everyone. all great people, excellent service.

This place is really awesome. Andrew treated me really well, he's very genuine and willing to share knowledgeable information. I drove 5 hours, one way, and don't regret it one bit! Andrew helped me to get my first real watch. Black Bay 58. I drove for the blue dial but left with the black dial, because he showed me options! Thanks, Andrew!

My fiancee and I went in two week ago looking for a wedding band for her. The lady helped us was supposed to email or call us back with the availability and the price of the ring we like in size 4 platinum. We left her our contact info and we never heard a word back from her. Terrible customer service. In the mean time, we got way better customer service and prompt response from Kay's and Harry Ritchie's jewelry.

Do Not bring anything important to this jeweler to fix! Repeat, do not bring anything important to this business. I recently brought my Rolex in for a new glass that I etched. They convinced me of a nearly $800 dollar service. When I got the watch back, it broke a week later. Who EVER heard of a Rolex breaking!?!? When I brought it back in, the manager had the nerve to disrespect Rolex by stating that a Rolex could break just by a movement of the wrist. Ridiculous, and insulting-he did not wear a Rolex.
When I spoke to the manager today, his tone was very condescending and in the middle of our conversation, he rudely interrupted me to greet someone though the office door was closed. Would anyone shop here after this rudeness, incompetence, and disrespect. I will be contacting Rolex to let them know about this travesty. In the meantime, do not shop here!

My first time at Skeie's was years ago. The two Ricks helped me with a time piece for my wedding. It was a special moment for my family and I am a lifelong customer. I've referred multiple friends to purchase here and enjoyed my visits as well as conversations with the staff. As I read through the reviews I was disheartened at some of the bad experiences when customers could not get what they want, when they wanted it.
In my experience, the "5 pointed Swiss crown" does not allow its retailers to do certain things that may seem logical to you or I. But that's to no fault of Skeie's. This is a family run local business and will soon become a century old. There are always places of improvement, but they must be doing many things right.

Stopped by Skeie's yesterday to inquire about a watch purchase for my wedding. Andrew was a true gentleman and was a great pleasure to work with. I would not recommend this jeweler. I had a bad experience with a piece of jewelry I had them work on. I believe they damaged my piece, they say they didn't. Bottom line is that there are many jewelers in town, and I personally would never trust them with my jewelry and my recommendation is that you shouldn't either.

I gave Skeie's jewelers of Eugene a $1,000.00 deposit for a Rolex watch in the spring with a promise that I would get my watch in the fall when the new shipment of watches arrived. I just got a call from the owner saying that I had to appear at Skeie's soon so I would still be on the list for my watch. I am currently on an extended vacation in Michigan with my grandchildren.
If I did not appear I would be taken off the list since Rolex sent a letter to Skeie's that demanded purchasers appear in person to prevent having their watches appear on the secondary market. Sounds like I was never going to get my watch. Not a good way to do business in my opinion. They did refund my money but paid me no interest while they used my money. Shop at your own risk.

The staff at Skeie's Jewelers is phenomenal. Jen treated me incredibly well and went above and beyond to help me obtain my dream Rolex. The transaction and communication went very smoothly. Rick is THE nicest guy. His staff is professional and helpful, and they will all bend over backwards to help you with any jewelry needs. They somehow manage to do this without pressuring you to buy anything. He's not sleazy to work with, which has been my experience with many jewelers. I would send anyone I know to work with them!

Could not be happier. Bought a Rolex from Libby at Skeie's yesterday and she treated me like a long term customer. The transaction could not have been smoother. She is very knowledgeable and personable. I also met the owner who was friendly and got to visit with him briefly. I would recommend Skeie's to anyone. Convenient location too near just about everything, and they treat you like an old friend.

The folks here are some of the kindest and happiest that I have encountered, making the purchase of some nicer pieces a lot of fun. We continue to return not only to get our wedding rings cleaned regularly, which we also purchased here, but also for various birthday and anniversary gifts. Store owner is horrible person. Called to buy a Rolex and made this far fetched story that Rolex doesn't do transatlantic shipping, and that he won't ship me the watch. I have been looking for the watch for over a week and finally I tracked someone down who has it and this is what I get. Truly horrible behavior from an AD. Livy is really cool and nice but her boss is a Jerk
