John is truly an expert gemologist, along with being a trustworthy and honest man. He went above and beyond to help me as a fellow jeweler, and I'd recommend him and his services to anyone. I feel very fortunate to have been referred to him, and I look forward to working with him on a stone cutting or jewelry project in the future.

Recently visited Denver Diamonds & Jewelry to look into selling some of my wife's jewelry due to her passing. I met the owner John B. we sat down to discuss what I had. He took his time to examine them and look at the pieces. He was very through and gave me a fair price for it. I would recommend this store to anyone.

John at Denver Diamonds has been a pleasure to work with. My husband had my custom wedding band and an additional diamond band made here. John was friendly, easy to work with, timely and responsive. He is a pleasure to talk with and truly cares about his customers. I would recommend Denver Diamonds to anyone looking for a true one on one connection to make you feel like your purchase and experience are memorable!

John Buchholz IS Denver Diamond. His career in the jewelry industry has always focused on the details of each client's needs. He represents several lines of jewelry, showing a large variety of rings. He offers custom designs as well. He is the best source for diamond repair in the Denver area. Honest, and talented. The recutting is done in house.

I had John re-cut/refinish a diamond ring for me and he did an excellent job. With the work he did the appraised value of the diamond/ring went up significantly. He was always straightforward with what needed to be done and the costs. If you need to have a diamond refinished and reset I highly recommend John to do the work for you.

I walked into Denver Diamonds & Jewelry looking for a new setting on an engagement ring that had been passed down through my girlfriends family. After visiting multiple shops in the area, I was beginning to worry that nobody could meet my price range and deadline (1.5 weeks). I met with John and was pleasantly surprised by his pricing and customer service.
He made my ring his highest priority, and was even willing to meet me during his off hours. His prices are affordable and the ring turned out better than I could have ever imagined! SHE SAID YES! And she's obsessed with the ring by the way. I will definitely be coming back to John for a wedding band, and recommending Denver Diamonds & Jewelry to all of my friends who are up next! Thanks John! - Mitch

First draft. I couldn't be happier with Denver Diamonds and Jewelry! My fiancee proposed to me in a foreign country with a wire and a rock that he crafted himself. It was incredibly romantic, but of course we wanted the real diamond. The romance continued when we asked Denver Diamonds to help us find our diamond and setting that tells our love story. John was attentive, helpful and listened to our every need.
My fiancee is very price conscientious, so we went to box jewelers (jewelry exchange, the Shane company, Kay and online to name a few). It was apparent there were "smoke and mirrors" and high pressured salesmen at each one of them. We returned to Denver Diamonds because John not only listened to us, he had proposed the highest value, answered our questions in a non sales driven manner and made a commitment to our ongoing satisfaction.
He made our experience personal. On experience and knowledge, John has it all. We learned about our diamond, we picked out the perfect one that will be in our lives and our families lives for many generations. I can attest to my fiancees pride on this purchase. The compliments continue and John not only guarantees our purchase, he provides a complimentary jewelry spa whenever I want one.
Every time I get it done it looks brand new. Having a personal connection coupled with trust when it comes to the symbol of our love is priceless. If you come across a less than fantastic review of this business, I implore you to look into your heart about this purchase and what it means to you long term and the Diamonds legacy. For me, it's knowing I have someone dedicated that cares about their product and the experience post purchase. Friend me on Yelp if you have questions.

John at Denver diamonds was simple incredible. This was my first time purchasing a diamond, or any jewelry for that matter, and he made my experience as pleasant as possible. I am an incredibly analytical person and he spent the better part of three meetings explaining every part of diamond buying and the diamond industry. He shipped in many diamonds around my desired specifications so I could compare and see exactly what I wanted. Finally the price I paid was more than fair. I will for sure be back the wedding band. Thanks John.

Had a great experience here! Found John and Denver Diamonds on Google Maps and just walked in. I was looking for an engagement ring and had some estate jewelry to trade in and put towards the value. John was extremely knowledgeable and educated me on the basics of diamonds so I could make an appropriate selection. I came in with a setting already picked out and John went out of his way to obtain this setting for me.
As for the trade in- I was treated very fairly. I shopped the trade-in value around town and got the best prices from John at DD. Furthermore, I have a friend in the Jewelry business in Indiana who helped guide me through the process. Because of the trade-in, it didn't make sense to insure the jewelry and ship to my friend, so he told me to call him with the prices I was quoted around town before buying anything.
My friend told me John was treating me VERY fairly on both the setting price and the diamond price, and that his valuation of the trade-in seemed reasonable given the older cuts of diamonds. The engagement went off smoothly and my fiance absolutely LOVES her ring and diamond. John met with me several times and slowly guided me to the perfect ring. No high-pressure sales nonsense or anything of the sort. Can't recommend this place enough.

John is a fantastic jeweler and runs a great jewelry store! I have used him for several pieces and cleanings over the past year and have had a very pleasant experience each time. His dog Cooper is also such a wonderful greeter! He can work within all budgets. I have seen some pretty terrific custom pieces he has helped create with his customers. Know you are in good hands when you shop at his location. Wonderful selection!

Let me just start by saying I'm getting married in two weeks. Picked this place based off their reviews and being a local business. My experience was terrible. Arrived at 10:05am during the week (they open at 10am according to website, door sign etc) only to find the place was closed. I attempted to call the number on the website, no answer. Tried the other number and a man answered casually "hello." First sign of an unprofessional business.
I asked if they are open and he said they would be in 15 min, it's already 10:15. So I asked if the times on his website and doors were incorrect and he snapped back that he had a dentist appointment. I waited a little longer, about 15 min, and go back to the store front and see lights inside. I ring the doorbell and nothing. Waited and rang 3 more times before giving up and leaving.

Awful experience. My best friend is getting married and her fiance is currently deployed. He told her we should go ring shopping to find something and we decided to go here. I don't know who the man was that "helped" us but if everyone else is talking about someone awful named John, I have a feeling that was him. Walked in and saw another couple being helped and they looked rather happy with their experience.
But My friend and I are in our early twenties and look rather young. I have a feeling he thought we were just kids messing around or something because he was SO not helpful. This is the third ring shop we've been too and she is well aware of what she wants at this point and explained it to him and he showed her a display and then promptly stopped talking and moved to a different display.
Left us and made us feel really awkward. Didn't seem interested in making a sale or even talking to us. Definitely would not recommend. Thanks for nothing and missing out on a 5K sale.

I love working with John! He is a specialist and really takes pride in making sure every customer is happy and truly satisfied! I appreciate his staffs work ethic and their dedication to true customer service! I love when my husband asks to check out Denver Diamonds because I know it means we will be leaving with something rare, only the finest quality and we will be given a fair price!

I have been a loyal customer at Denver Diamonds since 2006. They provide excellent service and jewelry selection with some truly unique pieces that you won't find anywhere else. The owner, John, has always been helpful, friendly, and professional. He helped us select the perfect wedding set and I couldn't be happier with my purchase. I would highly recommend Denver Diamonds.

We have been customers of Denver Diamonds and Jewelry for a while, and they never fail to amaze us. The service here is impeccable, and the products are high quality. The atmosphere in Denver Diamonds is wonderful because it has a high end feel, and is very welcoming. We got my engagement ring here, and I went in yesterday to purchase wedding gifts for both sets of parents.
I couldn't make up my mind as to which amazing piece I would purchase, and so John followed me around to each of the cases, tirelessly showing me each piece I was interested in. I ended up getting a necklace and earring set for my Mom, a bracelet for my Dad, a key chain for my father-in-law, and a necklace for my mother-in-law. Needless to say, we are getting our wedding bands here as well. John and Vicky are so friendly and easy to work with, and they are highly knowledgeable. I recommend visiting them just to peruse the beautiful merchandise, or if you are looking for a gift for a special someone.

This was a pretty big waste of time. All of the jewelry there looked the same, but I originally went there to sell my pieces. They literally took a millisecond to look at a $4000 ring, stated he wasn't interested because he has no idea what he's looking at. Maybe you should do your research dude, instead of rudely turning down prospective customers. Waste of time, money and gas to walk into this place. Owner needs to figure out what he is looking at if hes going to buy jewelry.

I can't comment on their gold buying prices, but I can comment on the excellent service, prices, and quality treatment I received at Denver Diamonds and Jewelry. I walked in with my engagement ring that was my financee's family heirloom. I wanted a fitter or sizer put into so I could wear it (it was a size seven and they sized me as a 3.5!) First of all, they were so gracious.
They cleaned my ring, looked at it under the microscope with me, discussed the size and quality with me and then sized me. They did all of this just because they were being nice. I asked if they would be able to resize it instead of just putting in a device to help it stay on and they said YES. I asked if they could do it that day by 3 and they said YES. AND they did!
Same day service and it was such beautiful work. Now I can wear my beautiful diamond around. Best of all they charged me an incredibly reasonable price for the sizing and I had no idea what I would pay. They really took excellent care of me, I highly recommend this store!

AWFUL EXPERIENCE! If I had the ability to give this establishment negative stars, I would give plenty. I bought my wife a black onyx ring for her 30th birthday from a different jeweler, but she wasn't thrilled about the band. Out of convenience and convenience alone, we took the ring to the nearby Denver Diamonds to replace the band with something more to her liking.
My wife dropped it off and she was told that they would have to send it off to a 'laser specialist' in town to do the work. Okay by her as long as the ring comes back the way she wants it. The original estimate was a few days. A week passed and my wife gave the shop a call. John, the owner, told her that he didn't have it yet and that he would call when it came in.
A few more days passed and still no word from John. My wife called again and was told that it would definitely be in the next day. The next day came and went and no call from DD. We waited 3 more days and then called back to get the following reply from John."Look, the ring isn't ready. We are relying on someone else to do the work. I don't know what to tell you." NO APOLOGY RENDERED.
My wife has a very different personality than I do. She is timid and easily intimidated. I, on the other hand, am NOT. I called back and simply asked when the ring would be ready. To which John replied, "I don't know." He then said, "What do you want me to do?" I said, "An apology would be a good start." He promptly hung up the phone when I started asking for a reasonably timeline to expect our ring back.
I called back and his very curt assistant answered the phone (obviously trained on how to be rude to customers). She, too, had no answers and suggested I pick up my ring unfinished. I couldn't even believe what I was hearing. The entire process took a total of 3 weeks. I should have trusted my gut and gone somewhere else. This place is ALWAYS empty and the owner is rude.
I have noticed this in previous visits to get my wedding band cleaned. I implore consumers to heed my warning and avoid Denver Diamonds at all cost. Not worth the time or inconvenience. -Dissatisfied Customer, Mike
