I was referred to Neil Beaty through a consumer advocacy website. I was having my engagement diamond reset into a new setting a few years ago. The jeweler was in NY, I am in CA and Neil was in Colorado. I was very nervous and wanted Neil to be my 'middle man'. He unset my stone and appraised it unset. Then sent the stone to the designer who was creating the setting.

After the stone was reset, it was sent to Neil again for him to appraise the piece now set. When I lost my ring late last year Neil's bullet proof appraisal is what helped me negotiate with my insurance policy. Because it was do so detailed, and because of his reputation in the industry the insurance company knew that they had to deal with me fairly.

If I hadn't had such an incredibly detailed appraisal, they would have replaced my ring with any old thing that was the same shape and the same basic design00 but in no way the same quality. And that would have been a huge loss financially.

I was hesitant about finding an expert to appraise an engagement ring I purchased and needed insured. If you are in need of getting a diamond appraised, Neil is the guy to see. His location is conveniently located in the Denver Merchandise Mart. Neil was professional, informative and did it all right in front of me. He gave me a mini lesson on the stone, and the diamond details "diamond people" would want to know. He was friendly through the whole process. At the end, he conveniently emailed all the information to my account and even sent information to the insurance company.

Neil is fantastic! Went in this morning to get a diamond "recertified" and it was a really great experience. He was capable of the GIA certs, but in my case it wasnt necessary. He has quite the set up in his shop and i was very impressed with his high degree of professionalism throughout the process I was able to ask him a multitude of questions, and was even able to ask him questions about the new setting.

Since he has been in the jewellry business for about 20 years he knows quite a bit. He explained prices on the setting I was considering and what to expect from local jewellers. He wouldnt make endorsements because he works with most reputable jewellers in denver. I thought that that spoke well to his integrity. The experience lasted about 40 minutes for my single diamond and wasn't painful or boring!

Neil is an astonishing expert, and likely the most experienced appraiser in the entire state, if not the entire country. From the moment I walked in, Neil spent more than enough time answering my questions, and gave me a history on differences in diamond cut and grading from different labs that was absolutely fascinating. I never, during the entire visit, did I feel rushed.

It is evident from Neil's enthusiasm that he takes a lot of pride in what he does, and he passes that on to the consumer. If you are looking to get a diamond appraised in the Denver Metro area, I would HIGHLY recommend you visit with Neil over anyone else. I felt VERY confident that my appraisal was done correctly, and, he seamlessly sent my information over to Perfect Circle Insurance so that my request for coverage was expedited. I went to Neil today for a ring appraisal after I got a bad feeling from my first (unprofessional) appraiser. It was an appraisal for engagement ring bought online.
