I am super happy with my experience getting an engagement ring at Shaftel! I had visited many different other diamond stores but I could tell the sales people were usually trying to take advantage of me. But Meagan was very helpful and honest. no pressure sales tactics or smoke and mirrors. And she was very helpful (and patient!) because she probably met with me or my soon-to-be fiance's sister maybe 4 times as I figured out what I wanted to get.

I actually found a ring design that I liked at a different business, but Shaftel was able to make a custom ring that was just like it for significantly cheaper than the other store! Especially compared to the many other stores I had visited, Shaftel seemed the most trustworthy and had the best prices. The carat I bought wound up being a lot bigger than I anticipated being able to afford. I would definitely recommend!

Shaftel Diamonds is a locally owned family business. They have such an incredible collection of literally everything. Today I went in and looked at hundreds of rubies, sapphires and emeralds. They were able to take some pieces which were inherited, but a bit dated and created some of the most beautiful jewelry I now own. I was looking for some diamond earrings for my wife and was impressed with the selection at Shaftel Diamond Company. The website drew us in and the showroom didn't disappoint. They stock items that truly sparkle and epitomize good taste. I have been to many jewelry stores that just don't have the same type of thoughtful selection. Other stores either have really cheap junk or jewelry that's style is stuck in another decade.

It is easy to tell that this is a family business when you walk in the door. The warm welcome they gave us made us feel like we were an extended member of their family. Danny knows his stuff and really explained to me the different types of gem stones and their respective qualities. My wife couldn't be happier with the hoop diamond earrings we purchased. My fiance and I went here to get my engagement ring. One of the sales people (I think her name was Megan) spent almost an hour with us as we designed my ring. It would have been longer, but we had to end the appointment. She was very knowledgable, positive and patient. My fiance and I knew nothing about diamonds or precious stones and she carefully explained everything to us and gave me plenty of time to sit and stare at stones until I picked the one I wanted.

She was also very respectful of our budget and helped us get the best we could within our budget. We were aiming for $5,000, but willing to go over for something perfect, but she made me exactly what I wanted for $5,000 on the dot. She also helped me pick a stone on the large end of the 75 point range to avoid doubling the price of the stone to get a full karat.

We were really impressed that we weren't encouraged to go with a larger stone even though we were open to being flexible with our budget. We will be returning to get our wedding rings from Shaftel.

Don't go to this place for repairs. Asked for a ring to be resized with explicit request that the inscriptions not be affected. It returned damaged and we were accused that it was caused by us when it was reported to them. They couldn't provide proof of any before & after notes of the quality of their work or condition of the ring, except stating that some lady checks the jewelry before leaving the store. Although the owner made attempts to contact us, the trust was broken and can't believe that they would think we would fabricate the situation.

We bought my husband's wedding band here and were very happy with the service as well as the quality of the product we received. It was a bit strange finding the place (it's in an office building) but their showroom was nice enough. We had been shopping around at all the chains in the mall (easiest way to hit up the most at once) and were just not impressed with the quality of the rings for the price.

They all seemed light and since you're essentially buying gold. Anyway, when we came to Shaftel, we were shown a nice selection of rings and found one that we immediately liked, but in tungsten carbide. "No problem, " they say, "we can make it in white gold for you in a few days." And, to boot, if we ever have problems with the ring, all we have to do it bring it back and they will refinish it and make it like new. "It's got our name on it, after all." And last plus: great prices for the quality. I felt like I was working with honest people and compared to other stores we went to, this was the nicest experience. I look forward to other purchases in the future.

Perfect when you are stepping in from the hot Houston heat. Depending on when you come, you may be greeted with a decent crowd. Once you find an associate to assist you, however, things go pretty easily. Keith and Danny Shaftel are very professional, but the other associates who work there are also knowledgeable in their own right. The fine young woman that has worked with my wife and I multiple times is also a Graduate Gemologist.

The selection and pricing at Shaftel is bar-none. They are able to get their jewelry it at wholesale prices, and that discount is passed on to the customer. Moreover, the unique selection they have, combined with the high quality, makes this place a must-stop over any of the crappy mall jewelry store places that you may find. I remember going into a Zale's one time when first going engagement ring shopping and having a salesperson (who is working on commission) try and explain to us how a cloudy diamond gives it character. Uh, wrong!

It makes it both less valuable and less attractive to look at. You won't get such lies at Shaftel, as the staff is not working on commission.
