Glassando

This store has rare and well priced finds. The proprietors are quiet and have class; other stores in Iowa City take my regular purchasing for granted and I actually get worse customer service over time. Glassando a class act in how they treat customers. They have rare finds, such as this raw Tanzanite necklace I last purchased (see photo). I consider them to be the best jewelers in town.

They also have a nice selection of crystals that aren't necessarily mounted into jewelry. Their jewelry is not limited to precious and semi precious stones; they also have art pieces and decor for holidays. The prices are just right considering the rarity of their products. I love this place and even though I am moving to another state, I plan to shop online with them until I can't shop anymore!

I always find delightful gems here. Abby has such a creative collection that's unlike anywhere else.

Before Glassando, I was never much of a jewelry person. I liked the idea of it, but could never find pieces that I really liked. My first visit to Glassando, however, changed everything. The shop always has a wide array of jewelry, and so truly has something for anyone. Looking for a classic, timeless look - there are lots of gorgeous pearls and simple silver pieces.

If you want something more adventurous, they often have really fun abstract jewelry. Or if you are looking for a piece of nature or history, they have fun pieces based around old coins, gemstones, and even fossils! In all of these categories, jewelry is available at a number of price points, so you can easily find something in your budget. Besides the wonderful and always changing selection of jewelry, the staff at Glassando is what really makes them stand out.

Everyone I have ever worked with is very friendly, patient, and always happy to help you find just the right thing. I have to admit I've also been there enough times that Abby knows just what to show me to put a smile on my face! I will be moving from the Iowa City area soon, but they also have an active website, and so I am happy to say they have won a customer for life in me.

I love, love, love Glassando! I have purchased or received so many stunning and unique pieces of jewelry over the years from Abby. I'm in the Chicago area so I appreciate being able to shop on line or at her live online video sales events. My daughter was thrilled when I was able to electronically share my wish list from Glassando for some Mother's Day gift suggestions, and I was equally thrilled to receive the pieces I loved.

My husband often seeks Abby's advice for gifts and they have selected some fabulous jewelry and a large amethyst geode that I treasure. I receive so many compliments whenever I wear one of these statement pieces. Each piece is so different from the mass produced pieces out in other stores. I have fossil earrings, carved amber jaguars, alien cameos, hand-painted pins, geode pendants, and a breathtaking blue topaz bracelet, just to name a few! I have been enjoying the items I've purchased from Abby for many, many years now. Her items are of top quality and the selection is wonderful. There are items for various price ranges as well. All the sales personnel are well trained, very helpful and knowledgeable. A ready smile and a cheerful hello when entering. What more can I saw but stop in.

Worked with employees to design a pendant and a ring. They were very helpful, patient with multiple changes I made, and "listened " to what I wanted so that I ended up with the jewelry of my dreams! I will return for any jewelry needs in the future. Very professional staff that made me feel like I was their only customer. I highly recommend this establishment- without any reservation!

I visited Iowa a couple years ago and this jewelry store is probably what I miss most about my trip! My only complaint is that the store is too far from my hometown, Chicago! The jewelry Glassando carries is gorgeous, high quality, unique, and best of all, reasonably priced. I've given pieces from here as gifts on multiple occasions now and they always delight.

Most recently, I contacted the shop via their facebook and was able to order a couple special trunk show pieces, *with the trunk show discount*! I was not expecting to get that discount and it was a nice surprise. The associate I communicated with (I'm assuming she was the owner) was friendly, helpful, and patient. I received my order quickly. I love supporting small businesses and this is why. I love this shop and I'll shop here whenever I can!

I feel foolish that it took me so long to step foot in this store. Maybe because it lives in the Old Capitol Mall? Not sure. But if you're in need of a totally one of a kind or colorful accessory for yourself or loved one-- Glassandro should be a store you stop in. Personally, I adore Murano glass jewelry. And this is one of the few brick and mortar shops I know of in the area that carries it. However, Glassandro is much more than glass jewelry -- it carries a wide variety of bracelets, necklaces, rings and earrings.

There are semi-precious stones, alternative metals and meteorite jewelry. I was awestruck of the naturally expired butterfly wing jewelry. So, so beautiful and unique. Definitely worth the money and reversible to boot. (I guess I had never realized the back side of butterfly wings were darker for night cover and also stunning.) I bought a pair for my mom and she loved them as much as I had hoped she would.

The staff was very friendly and really knew about all of the pieces in the store. Pricing seemed reasonable, especially because the jewelry that lives in this store is so darn different. And parking is a non-issue with the Old Capitol ramp. (First hour free!) Don't be a fool like me, check them out sooner than later!

I visited the shop during a trip to Iowa a year or two ago and LOVED it. Their pieces are so unique, beautiful, high quality, and best of all, affordable. I just placed an order with them through their Facebook page for a couple trunk show pieces. The associate was very friendly and helpful, and she even gave me the trunk show discount price. I was not expecting that, but I'm certainly thankful for it! I'll order from here whenever I'm able and definitely keep this shop in mind when I have to do some gift buying.

I was blown away with the large selection of unusual silver jewelry. Lots of one of a kind gemstones and semi precious stones. I bought a skull coin ring for my dad, he loved it and gets complimented every time he rides his Harley. Very cool stuff!

I love going into Glassando. Huge variety, really high quality pieces at good prices. I have a pair of wooden beer mug 'tailgaiting' earrings that are super unique, and just bought a really beautiful piece of ocean jasper. They have something for everyone. The owner is incredibly friendly and unbelievably knowledgeable. I would send anyone their way that is looking for a unique, beautiful piece of jewelry from a local owner.

Glassando is one of my all-time favorite jewelry stores. I discovered it when I was a student at the University of Iowa and have kept ordering jewelry from there since I moved to California. Each piece is so unique and very different from what other jewelry stores carry. Shopping for the women in my family has become very easy because they all want jewelry from Glassando.

Whenever I wear a piece of jewelry I always get at least one compliment or someone will ask me where it's from. I think that the prices are extremely reasonable, especially since a lot of the jewelry is imported. Their website is beautiful and very user friendly. When you order online the jewelry is mailed in these beautiful, intricate boxes that are so beautiful that I never wrap them in paper.

I usually order a few pieces at a time so I have gifts on hand for friend's birthdays or holidays. If you live in the area feel free to stop by the store and browse their selection. The staff is very friendly and Abby, the owner, is extremely knowledgeable about each piece.

I have an update to my previous review. Glassando did finally refund me for the lost order, so now I am very pleased with their customer service.
