Philip's offers custom jewelry design, hand engraving and full-service jewelry repair services, all from our Marion, Iowa studio.
Services
Our particular style of jewelry design and sales isn't really on purpose-it's just a reflection of who we are as a family. We believe in building things to last, and building relationships along the way. There's a reason many of our customers have been working with us since 1976. We led the industry in the adoption of computer-aided design (CAD) in the 1990s and 2000s, and even helped develop one of the most popular programs.
This green tourmaline ring features hand engraving by Mitchell Lurth. It took home a Best of Show and People's Choice award from the Iowa Jeweler's Association in 2016. This custom opal necklace was designed by Ben and hand-fabricated by Mitchell in collaboration with our client. It is designed and built around the specially selected opal and includes blue, pink, and clear diamonds set in sterling silver and 14k rose gold.
Most of the big jewelry shops send out their repair work-not Philip's. By doing all jewelry repair work in house, we can better protect your valuables and retain complete control of the process. We'll put our full array of technology and skills to work to make your well-loved ring, necklace or watch like new.

Patricia was extremely professional, kind, and exceptionally accommodating. She took the time to listen carefully, ask clarifying questions, and offer a variety of suggestions as we designed a plan for the perfect grandmother's ring and a new design for an existing engagement ring. The completed rings far exceed my expectations, and I am grateful to the entire staff at Philip's Diamond Shop.

Went a few times. One was to sell some junk gold. The manager yelled at the lady helping me and said she doesn't have time for that. Then went in again because I lost a Diamond the lady was helpful until I told my husband what they we're going to charge me and he told me he wanted me to go where we bought the earrings. The place we bought the earrings were a quarter of the price of what they were gonna charge for the same thing. At that point they where not very Pleasant.

I worked with Patricia on a custom engagement ring. She did a great job and helping me visualize my ideas and after we locked down a design we got renders of the ring not too long after. The renders were really great in seeing what the ring was going to actually look like. They also made a 3D printed mold of the ring which gave me a good idea on what the band and all the settings looked like.
Next step was getting the ring! It turned out amazing and my fiance loves it! Phillips diamond shop makes it very easy for the customer and they were very accommodating to my budget and finding exactly what I wanted. Thanks again!

Excellent service and wonderful people. My mom took in her rings to be resized and they did a wonderful job increasing the rings but two sizes. She took in a diamond earring she had lost the pair to and not only did they make her a perfect break replica but they encouraged her to talk to the insurance company who fully covered the cost. I took in my engagement ring to be resized before my wedding and they finished it in one day and didn't charge me a rush fee.
She offered to look at my wedding band to make sure it was the right size and cleaned and found that two of the diamonds were loose. They fixed that and I feel so much safer with my rings in tip top condition before my wedding this week! Best customer service. Friendliest people. I would definitely do business here again!

They are the best jewelry store that I have ever encountered in all my years. I would trust them with any piece of jewelry and the quality is 100%. The staff at this store took all the pieces that my husband had given me throughout our 25 years of marriage and put them in one beautiful ring that is just unbelievable! The staff is above and beyond helpful and any jewelry I buy, need repaired, or need designed in my future will be done at Philip's Diamond Shop! And I live in Kansas City Missouri and I will drive all the way to Marion Iowa to deal only with this wonderful jewelry store.

Ben was Great! He listened to the overall vision my husband and I had for the ring restyling and captured it completely! When we went in we were planning on looking at multiple jewelry stores but after about an hour of working with Kelsie we knew exactly what we wanted and for the price we wanted to get that day and then proceeded to follow through with emails and calls so we could get the ring processed and made and thank goodness they did cuz now I'm able to propose Sooner and start our dream come true! I was blown away at how hard the staff at Philip's worked to ensure my fiance and I the best craftsmanship and pricing on our wedding bands. I had worked with them prior with my fiance's engagement ring and couldn't be happier. They do all of their custom work in house. From designing in CAD software to casting, molding, engraving, to everything else, they do it all in house and your rings never once leave the shop until they leave with you.
It was such a wonderful experience working with them, and a huge shout-out and thank you to Patricia for helping us create the perfect rings for our wedding. Everyone was so helpful and responsive. We truly couldn't recommend going anywhere else. They've made lifetime customers out of us.

What a wonderful local establishment! Patricia helped me design an engagement ring for my girlfriend and helped make the whole process stress-free and enjoyable! She showed me many great options within my budget and provided support and valuable input as I made decisions! Patricia also provided me with email updates as the ring was being custom made! I had SUCH a wonderful experience at Philip's Diamond Shop designing my engagement ring. We visited several local jewelry stores, and once we came to Philip's--- it was a whole different experience. Patricia was very helpful. She provided me with multiple options after hearing my preferences. In the end, the design that I chose is more than what I could have hoped for. I love it! Incredible quality, and very reasonable prices. Highly, highly recommend Philip's!

I started looking for engagement rings in November of this year knowing that I was completely ignorant about anything having to do with engagement rings. I reached out to Ben at Philips looking for help/advice. He generously walked me through the process, answering any and all questions no matter how ridiculous they seemed. The ring I wanted was going to take some effort as it was not a common diamond, and I also was hoping to have it by NYE. Ben tirelessly searched and kept me updated every step of the way.
When NYE rolled around a beautiful purple diamond engagement ring showed up on my doorstep, and by the end of the day I was engaged. I can't recommend Ben and Philip's Diamond Shop enough, diamonds are affordable and the customer service is out of this world.

My family has been going to Philip's Diamond shop since it was in Lindale Mall and at both the former and latter Marion locations. This past summer we had a death in the family and both of my parents wanted my grandmother's diamonds reincorporated into several of their own rings. Ben was able to help them through it and my parents came out with a wonderful new product reincorporating the family heirlooms.
My own experiences have been great there as well. This past Christmas season I was looking for a special gift for my girlfriend that was out of the normal. Ben showed me around the shop and gave me several ideas. Ben showed me some of the fantastic hand-engraving that they do in the shop. Looking at an example of a ring with a Gaelic trinity knot, it gave us an idea.
My girlfriend is very Norwegian and has a proud family heritage. The designer was able to apply rosemaling around a ring and made a great final product. She was happy, which made me happy. Would recommend the establishment to anyone.
