They were very friendly at Swanson when we came in to buy and resize wedding bands. They did it quickly and at a good price. Thank you!

I brought a few pieces here for repair. The work they did is beautiful, and they are so helpful!

Not the place to come for more complicated repairs. I took a ring in to be enlarged by.25 size. The jeweler mentioned after I asked that there would be a slight change in the pattern, but instead the whole back of the ring got stretched out and the small edging the milgrain was on completely smoothed over for much of the back. I was really unhappy and felt that the changes weren't adequately explained (and only mentioned because I asked).

If I had known how the ring would look afterwards I would have not have gone forward with the resizing. I took the ring to Rebekah Brooks and they said it was poorly done and that the back should have been cut open and a replica piece put in. Now I have to pay an extra 150+ to have the ring restored. They were fine for resizing a plain band.

I went here to have a ring resized and have a prong retipped. I picked up the ring it looked great. A day later the prong was completely sticking straight up and then fell off! I went back and they talked me into not only re-tipped that prong again but said there was another one that should be done. I bought what they said. Picked ring up and again the same thing happened with the prong.

I went beck a third time understandably not happy at all. They took the ring and again two weeks later called and said they put four new prongs on at no charge. I now have a ring that catches in my hair, on my stockings, on the threads of my sweaters, my blanket. I will now take my ring to Longs to have all four prongs fixed! Will not be going back to Swanson and would not recommend!

I went into this store today for a new watch battery. I spoke with the owner. He was incredibly friendly and helpful. The jeweler was able to switch out my watch battery within 15 minutes. They also were able to adjust the clasp on my watch, which was very helpful! I would highly recommend this store! Very affordable. Very helpful and friendly as well!

I've never had nicer and more helpful service in a jewelry shop. I arrived just before closing time with the back having fallen off my inexpensive Timex. Never would have tried having a good quality jewelry/watchmaker try to repair this cheap watch if a knowledgeable friend hadn't urged me to try Swanson's. I was received with courtesy, served immediately and had my fix done in minutes. Cost: $5. To risk a pun, this place is a gem.

I have had my watch resized here and a damaged ring repaired and resized. Swanson Jewelers is like stepping back in time, where quality and customer satisfaction matter. Plus their pricing is extremely fair! The ring was fixed in a week and the watch resized on the spot, so service is quick. Yet despite the quick turnaround, the ring looked perfect and fit right!

To note, they sell polish and cleaning materials for your jewelry too. Truly this place is a gem and I will be coming back here for my jewelry buying needs. UPDATE 12/13/2018: My partner and I decided to get our engagement rings here since we had such great service in the past and we wanted to support a local business. We worked with David and we were able to get two beautiful engagement rings that suited each of us for an amazing price.

The process went smoothly and was incredibly easy. And David was lovely through the whole experience and able to offer advice when we wanted non-traditional gemstones and for other matters. It took about a month from selecting our settings to receiving them in person, but that is because of the holidays and ordering of a stone for my ring. I cannot recommend them enough.

Look at it this way-you can go to on of those "chain jewelers", or you can benefit for the 100 or so years that this family has been in business. David had his goldsmith remove stones from my late mom's wedding ring and I went totally on his recommendation of what would look best for me for a new ring to be made. Perfect! Couldn't be happier.

I also bought a pair of earrings that were stylish and classy. What you get is quality and experience. Ditto for repairs. I only took a star off because I wish they had more of a selection.

If you need jewelry repair done, go here! I wish I had a before and after picture of my favorite ring that was completely destroyed after being caught in a door (with my finger in it). Long story short, I needed to use pliers to get it off. It was a disaster. When the ring came back, it didn't even look like the same ring. Not only did they polish it, but they somehow got rid of the marks the pliers made. Really amazing. I was extremely happy!

I am a life long resident of Arlington as were my late mother and father. My dad always would buy jewelery gifts for my mom at Swanson. I am now an avid vintage American pocket watch collector and have had many of them repaired and serviced by Steeg, the watchmaker at Swanson. He's very professional and learned his craft in Sweden before coming to the States, and always does a great repair work at a very fair price.

I bought a ring that people still comment about today from Swansons almost 50 years ago because my parents said they were the oldest and best jewelers in town. Today I still send my heirloom watch to them--from New Mexico-- whenever it needs to be serviced because they are the most skilled and honest watchmakers I've found.
