In 1966, Ed Cleves, Sr. and Joe Lonnemann, Sr. decided they were ready to retire. They sold the store to Nick & Gert. With Joe's blessing, it was decided to keep the Lonnemann name for the business in order to honor the men who founded a jewelry store during the depths of the Depression. Charles Nicholas Cleves (Charlie) graduated from Northern Kentucky University with a degree in Math in 1975.

Stopped in to see how much it would cost to have a watch battery replaced. Figured that I would have to drop it off and come back later. Nope. The guy took it from me replaced my battery and less than 3 minutes and it only cost me $5. Incredible. Other visits have had similar outcomes, they always do exceptional work and terms of restoration repair. I never purchased jewelry here directly but prices seem to be fair and comparable. Don't go to some big box conglomerate jewelry store. This is the place to be.

Very satisfied with my first time here. I wanted a birthday/Christmas gift for my mother and they had a beautiful necklace in the display with her birthstone surrounded by diamonds in 14k white gold. It was like it was just sitting there waiting for me. The sales professionals were very helpful but not pushy, which I really like. I came in 45 minutes before closing and they had the merchandise gift wrapped and ready for me to go out the door with 15 minutes to spare. Plus I got a great item only 5 minutes from home; support your local businesses! Can't beat that. I have several watches I will bring back for repair later.

Very disappointed with my fiance's wedding band. We got it back once after having them size it down and the size was wrong. They didn't resize his finger and just said they'd make it bigger. Then we go back a second time and it is still too small. It's obvious they just cut into the ring and took a piece of the band out, which is gold, and then said it would cost even more to get it sized again.
We just left and told them to forget about it. The engraving looks terrible and we're just so upset because it's a family heirloom and there's no redoing it now. Never going back again.
