I was going through some jewelry and remembered that I had sent my husband into Paolucci a couple of years ago for some custom work. We had some loose gems and a bracelet to modify. They basically laughed him out of the store, so I guess they only sell generic stock. It goes without saying that they were extremely rude. Definitely wouldn't recommend.

In their advertising, they state that they will set stones in rings while you wait. I called ahead to see if this was the case, and they stated this to be correct. When the ring was brought in to be set, they refused to do it stating that they will not do any work on jewelry that is not their merchandise because they are not willing to accept the liability if they damage the stone or ring in the process of setting the stone. Maybe they are OK if you are using them as a retail service, but definitely poor service as a jeweler.
Business response
Wow, what an unfair review. Most Jewelers do not want to do extensive work on pieces they did not sell. If something should go wrong it comes out of there pocket and why would anyone want to be liable for someone elses product. You write what you write because you don't understand what is at stake for them.
In my opinion this makes them a very responsible jeweler with high standards. It sounds to me they explained themselves quite well, it was just something you did not want to hear.
Why not take it back to the jeweler you purchased it from, now if they didn't want to help you, that's who you should have a problem with.
