In 2017, Stacey Solovey became the owner of Solovey Jewelers upon the retirement of her mother, and longtime store owner, Traci Solovey. Stacey has renamed the store Solovey Jewelers and Consignment Boutique, as she is now accepting fine jewelry and designer handbags to add to the already lovely jewelry collection for which we have been known for more than 45 years.

This is an overdue review of the great experience my fiance and I had shopping for rings at Solovey! Stacey, the owner, was extremely friendly and helpful over our several visits to the store. She also didn't bat an eye at our modest budget and still managed to present a lot of options to us. In the end, she got her goldsmith to add a stone to an existing band for my engagement ring, and I got a lovely engraved wedding band at the same time. Highly recommend Solovey for their great vintage selection and customer service.

Extremely rude from the moment she answered the phone. She really made me feel like I was a nuisance by the way she told me they normally close at 5, but she was leaving at 2, and that I should make an appointment for the next day. I went to the competition down the street, spent $3k on beautiful ring, and was treated like royalty!

Trekked here out of my way about took me an hour to get here, during supposed opening hours only to find a closed metal awning, a store person peering through to make sure no one was coming in and the lights off. Was looking forward to shopping here and am very annoyed that they had decided to all of the sudden change their stated store hours out of the blue and close up. This is very unprofessional and rude to all of the sudden close a place without any notice and they have lost my valuable business as a result.

I went in to pick out an engagement ring because I really wanted something vintage and a my moms friend suggested Solovey. Awesome selection of rings, settings, and loose stones. Stacy was extremely helpful without being pushy at all. The prices were reasonable and she advised me on hardness and profile and all different types of options. Really great experience.

I didn't get a warm feeling from this place. Came in to look around before getting my hair done nextdoor. I asked to get my ring cleaned while looking.most good jewelers ask you if you would like that service when you come in. She told me the machine was broke.went and sat down. Not great customer service

This jewelry store was absolutely delightful! The owner, Traci, and her assistant, Karen, were tremendously knowledgeable, patient, articulate, creative ladies--not at all pushy! I went in to the store looking to find a specific type of estate ring--and Karen found something even better than I could have imagined. Additionally, Traci was able to take Karen's ring recommendation and provided me with some ideas of how her goldsmith could adapt the ring to work with my current engagement ring. Traci invited me back to observe and speak with her goldsmith and to take a look at some of his other current work so that I can get a solid understanding of my purchase and request.
Both ladies were super friendly--GREAT vibe--and not overly assertive. As for the store itself, there was a wonderful selection of estate jewelry across the spectrum/decades--if you're looking for something unique and beautiful and creative, Solovey Jewelers is a MUST! I am so glad I went in here--you will be too! These ladies do NOT disappoint.

Incredibly helpful and kind staff. I have had two items repaired here. The work was done well, and the cost is reasonable. I haven't purchased any new items here, but their jewelry looks pretty. I plan to bring more jewelry in for repair and am confident they'll do a great job. Highly recommend this place!

Love, love, love Solovey! My sister turned me on to this place. Beautiful selection of vintage and contemporary pieces. I brought in some family pieces and they redesigned them to my taste, did some sizing, and cleaning. and it was all done beautifully and very reasonable. I trusted them with my family's treasures, they were thoughtful and knowledgable.
I have purchased a few pieces and plan to fullfil all my future jewelry needs with them. There is a consignment case and, a sale case, which are both filled with fabulous ans unique goodies. New to the consignment business, high end accessories (bags and shoes). I got mine! If your looking for an honest family run jeweler with major cred in the business, Solovey is that place. Thank you Ladies!

The customer service here is really impressive. I had a loose stone and wanted to get it set. Mind you, I had bought neither the stone nor the setting from Solovey (they were both given to me). But that did not at all affect how kind and helpful the ladies here were. I walked in half an hour before closing time on a Thursday and told them what I wanted.
She recommended that I get the stone appraised while it was still loose (before having it set) because that would be the best way to ensure good coverage for insurance purposes. Normally the lady who does her appraisals only comes in twice a month, but Stacey (the daughter) pulled some strings and was able to get her to come in the very next day! I got my stone appraised and ring set within a day. I love that this is a local, dog-friendly, family-owned shop and am so glad to hear that they are sticking around. Thanks Solovey!

I forgot to do a review when I had a vintage onyx ring repaired by this amazing jeweler. The ring's band cracked, and they were able to repair it without hesitation. They were so incredibly kind to me, and repaired my ring for a fair price. I Am going back to them for resizing of a recently purchased ring, and cannot wait to browse their incredible selection.

Traci was an incredible help in our hunt for an antique platinum wedding band. I have never seen a selection as large as hers. If you are looking for an antique engagement/wedding ring this is the place for you! Her prices were also on par with what I was seeing in my hunt in stores in Dallas and Northern Virginia.

Trustworthy! Traci's been in the business for 30 years and knows jewelry. Not just diamonds -- she's a walking encyclopedia and an absolute, elegant, personable delight. With superb taste. From repairs to fine purchases & everything in-between, you get the same level of service & respect from this wonderful, lovely, family-owned business.
Warm and welcoming, even on a busy Saturday, you will always be remembered and treated with care. As for the jewelry -- if you love vintage, antique, modern, good vintage costume, Solovey has an incredibly well-edited collection. And I know they can also find you what you're looking for -- Traci's been in the business a long time & knows everyone.

I cannot say enough good things about this place! I got my engagement ring resized there and my husband and I found our wedding bands there too. They have modern pieces and antique pieces. They clean your rings for free, are extremely friendly and knowledgeable, and get back to you right away. We will definitely be going there for years to come. Cannot recommend them enough! FANTASTIC place!

Yes I have a jewelry problem.but I'm putting it to good use by sharing the knowledge. Solovey is one of the jewelry stores in the DC/northern VA area I would go to for outstanding vintage jewelry. They have a great selection and are really nice. You can also go to Tiny Jewel Box & Chas. Schwartz (DC) and Heirloom Jewels (in Baltimore). All of these companies have sucky websites but they have quite a selection of vintage jewelry.
Also there are gem and jewelry shows at the Chantilly VA convention center and the DC convention center about 4 times a year (see http://intergem.com. There are a few dealers who have excellent vintage inventory (Efim GIlim and Manhattan Jewels are 2 of the best). Online try http://newyorkestateje. Whatever you do, look around before making a decision if you are buying a vintage engagement ring.
My jewelry obsession was started when my husband gave me his grandmother's 1917 platinum/diamond engagement ring for our engagement. And because I didn't know anything about jewelry then I took it to a jeweler (located in Chevy Chase) in DC who destroyed the engraving detail around the top (when setting the stone more securely) and destroyed the band's engraving (when sizing.
I learned later that it could have been sized differently to save the engraving despite what they told me at the time). I have to live with those mistakes everyday. Don't let amateurs sell you jewelry or repair your jewelry! Good luck.
