I went in a while back to get a slightly cracked link on my chain repaired and the owner said he'd rather not touch it. HUH? Maybe he could not handle this type of repair? When I asked if he could recommend a jeweler who could fix it, he replied no and he'd only do it if I assumed all the risk. WHAT? He was very rude and unhelpful. I went directly to another jewelry shop in the next town over (Melrose) and they literally fixed it in one day.
They also advised it was a fairly common problem with heavier gold chains. There are better jewelry repair shops with better customer service and better jewelers behind the counter out there. Avoid this place to save yourself some time and hassles.

Great people to work with. Honest and reasonable. Had a Tag Huer watch over hauled that I had purchased at an estate sale elsewhere and they convinced me that based on how much the watch cost that it was certainly worth repairing and I would still be way ahead of the game in term of the money I put out from the beginning. Give them a shot.you won't be disappointed! Pam R

I came in to buy a diamond ring - Understated yet w brilliance & stunning! ~ a holiday gift, an extremely generous giftcard given to me by a client i had helped start a business in the 80's on a business trip to South Africa where they have some of the world's most exquisite diamonds! So i wander into this little shop in a suburb of Boston. The owner came at me with all the typical faux warmth that salespeople do.
I'm very careful where i do business and spend my money. I decided to show him a cz i had on my ring finger and tell him i was looking to sell it & acted surprised when he said it wasn't real. *The number one rule in business Richard. 1. You NEVER judge a book by it's cover and NEVER blatantly treat a customer with the level of Disrespect you showed me! Disgusting! Diamonds aside. Is that how u treat a lady? Wow- pretty scary. 2.
You NEVER quite know just exactly how much money a person has.do u now? You assumed because you saw a woman that appeared to not know that she didn't have a real diamond - it was okay to just WALK AWAY! I wouldn't spend a 1/2 pence in there! How lucky you are to have such an Outstanding employee Andrea who came to try to save a sale & you called her into the back room. interrupting my transaction.
That was a scumbag move! You don't know me, who i am, who i know and you treated me like garbage~ in the blink of an eye!.after looking at the cz trinket.a complete 180! *I HIGHLY suggest anyone reading this. Go ANYWHERE!. but here! Nice way to treat a lady! How'd that sale $$,$$$ work out for you?

Fantastic local jeweler. Have purchased several items from chains to watches to having my wife's weeding rings sized. Bought a watch used that broke 6 months later. Brought it in and found that to fix it would be more than when I bought it. The owner replaced it with a better watch (Swiss army) When I told him that i worked physically when I wear it. He truely cares about CustomerService and satisfaction, I wouldn't even think about going anywhere else.

I love it here! Rich is knowledgeable, professional and extremely fair. He has not only sold me beautiful jewelry but he has fixed a lot of my pieces and done a great job at a very fair price. His jewelry is beautiful, different and not like anywhere I've ever seen anywhere else. I highly recommend them!

I went into Wakefield Jewelers today to sell some Sterling silver after trying a few other places and getting ridiculous low-ball offers. Wakefield Jewelers gave me a very fair price and the whole process took less than five minutes. The staff was extremely friendly and professional, the store was clean and had a whole lot more to offer than just jewelry. This place will now be my go to place for all my gold/silver buying and selling and jewelry needs.

Went here to get my engagement ring re-sized after hearing great things. They resized it twice and it is still too big, would have had them resize it more however it takes ~ 1 week each time. When I called to see if my ring was back they told me they couldn't find it. I spoke with the owner who told me he'd look for it. When I went there (as I was very upset) the owner told me "I told you I'd call you when I found it." Awful customer service. I stayed until they found it. ugh! They did apologize, but after waiting ~30 min for them to look everywhere for my ring. Don't go here!

I had a necklace with a broken clasp I needed repaired. I came on Yelp looking for a reliable jeweler, and tried this one. I had great results! The entire process probably took me about 5 minutes total. I walked in, they took one look at it and fixed it on the spot for a grand total of $8. Couldn't get any better!

On 2/26/2011, the following unfair and deceptive act occurred:I came in to pick up my four pieces of jewelry that I dropped off on 12/18/2010. The reason for dropping off these four pieces, one 14ct gold chain, one silver necklace, and two 14ct white gold necklaces, one with diamond 3 star drop pendant, the other circle pendent with 3 amethyst stones; was do to them being tangled.
The lady behind the counter gave me a orange receipt with a brief description of the 4 pieces and said she was going to be very busy the next few weeks due to the holidays and would call me once the pieces have been untangled. I never heard from her Mr. Veader regarding pieces being ready for pick up. I came into their store on 2/26/2011 to pick up my four pieces.
I brought along the receipt given to me as well. Mr. Veader handed me the silver necklace in a clear white baggy and 14ct yellow gold chain. He informed me he could not find the other two pieces but that he would look for them. I asked the lady that was with him why she never called me when the pieces were ready and she gave me an answer of "they were not ready".
I feel at this time that either him or her, stole these two pieces, or sold them. These pieces were extremely sentimental to me more than he can imagine! My fiance Nick paid $850 for these two pieces and should get what he paid for these two pieces. I suffered extreme emotional distress due to the loss of my valuable property. As a result of this unfair or deceptive act or practice, I suffered injury or loss of money as follows: "You lost valuable and sentimental property of mine". Therefore, I hereby demand the following relief: Payment for the original cost of the lost valuable property and payment for the emotional distress I have suffered in the amount of $1,000.
On 3/2/2011 Mr. Veader called me and informed me to come in to settle the dispute. He asked if I had slaes receipts for two items that he lost and I informed him that they were gifts so no, but was able to provide website for items. The diamond star neckalce, 10ct white gold Nick paid $575 for it and the 10ct white gold circle pendant with three amethyst he paid $275.
I informed him I only wanted these two pieces of jewerley back, or $850 for two pieces for what Nick paid and $150 for the emotional distress this has caused me due to their actions. He informed me who would settle it for $300 for both pieces are give me used merchandise from the store in which I declined. They need to be held accountable for their actions.
I went to the Wakefield Police Station yesterday, March 2, as well and filed a Police Report. The Police Report Case # is 11-1836. I also filed a complaint with the Office of the Attorney General through their website on March 2nd, 2011. Last but least, I sent them a 30 day demand letter through certified mail today with return receipt requested. As a result of this unfair or deceptive act or practice, Wakefield Gold & Silver Exchange lost valuable and sentimental property of mine.
