I called 1st & the gentleman that answered said come rite in lets see what you have to fix & will go from there. Drove to store tol a look at what we had jeweler fixed my sons clasp on the spot recommended that we bring other chain so jeweler can fix other chain because it had to be soldered. Will definitely go back when he returns from vaca.

We go here to have our watch batteries replaced. We usually go in on a busy Saturday, but we never wait long, if at all. I also had a watch band replaced and an old mantel clock repaired. I was in and out in about 20 minutes. Watch batteries are $12. Mantel clock repair quote was $150 - 175. (I had another clock repair place quote me over $500). Great neighborhood place.

Excellent small jewelry store with quality products and helpful staff. My needs were small today as I stopped by only to get new watch batteries, but no matter what you need, you will feel cared for by the staff.

I have been replacing my wrist watch battery at the store for many years. Everyone is very knowledgable. They provide excellent service and are reasonably priced. I'd highly recommend the store to anyone.

I can't say enough about Virag. I have a twenty year old watch that they've taken terrific care of. It needs a new battery about once a year, and they are always very generous with offering a free battery replacement if it's been less than a year. Most recently, one of the polycarbonate links in the band broke, and Peter was incredibly diligent in tracking down a solution to disassembling the band (the watch company was going to charge me $80 just to send them the watch for an investigation - I KNEW what was wrong). Anyway, he tried all sorts of methods until finally enlisting the help of a diamond-tipped drill.

I was ready to pay something close to $80, based on what the watch company insisted on. In the end, he took care of it and charged me a very modest, standard fee for repairing the band. My only regret is that I have but one watch to bring to them for repairs.

I've been taking my watches to Virag Jewelers for many years, and their knowledge and customer service is top notch.

Recently I brought in an ID bracelet I've had since a teen. The clasp was a bit loose and I explained my granddaughter was interested in wearing the bracelet, but it was no longer secure. The gentlemen behind the counter took it to the back, returned 5 minutes later with a securely closing bracelet and did not charge me for the service. It was touching to see that level of service still offered especially during such hard times.

Many times Virag has fixed jewelry for me but recently they have used skills and imagination to make earrings out of pieces that i have brought in. Both pairs of earrings that i had for many years did not work for me and needed reshaping to be something that i would wear and for modest sums, they resculpted the earrings to design new earrings using the body of the old ones.

Truly impressive insight. About three years ago I took in a century old ft high grandfather clock that had not worked for 40 years and with kindness and skill, they have it so it sits on our mantle and keeps perfect time. I salute the remarkable patience, talent, and thoughtfulness of the family of jewelers at Virag.

I have been taking my watch and other jewelry here for repair for many years and have always been happy with the skill and quickness of the folks who work here. Recently I brought my high school aged son here to purchase a gift. The staff treated him like a regular person and helped him find something that met both his budget and his specifications.

We could not have been more pleased with the selection and the service. They were very patient and willing to answer any questions. I will be buying some jewelry for my daughter for her birthday soon, and I will definitely be coming to shop at this local treasure.

Terrible experience with this place. The first time I came in about a month ago with a vintage 60's gold watch needing a few minor things repaired. Virag gave me a quote of $315 to fix the issues. I said that was way more than I expected and took the watch elsewhere for a second opinion. That other place was Franko's Jewelry repair in Downtown at he expertly fixed the watch for $75.

Quite a difference. Since Virag is local to me I thought to give them another chance. This time bringing in a very rare and valuable HEUER dive watch to have a simple job of the seconds hand replaced. Long story short I got the watch back with a damaged dial. The edges were sheared off during installation of the movement back into the case and the shards of the dial that were chipped off remained floating in front of the case clearly visible through the crystal.

Even with the clear evidence that the dial was neglectfully reinstalled, the workers there both denied any accountability for the damages. Instead I was told it was water damaged and this was the reason the dial's edges were damaged even though 1) the watch is a dive watch, it's waterproof! and 2) there was bright metal showing in the area that the watch's edge was damaged indicating there was metal to metal contact against the dial and case during installation.

No apology was given and I was only shrugged off condescendingly as if I was imagining what had happened and told to just get a new dial. Kind of hard to do for a 40 yr old vintage watch! What's even more, the replaced seconds hand now hits the minutes hand! I have to take it to another watch repair shop to fix their work. Unbelievable! Bottom line is if you have a treasured watch that needs maintenance or repair I would never again trust to take it to Virag. I now have a damaged vintage watch that cannot ever be brought back to its original condition as the parts are extremely scarce for this model.

I have the nicest experience with Joseph today. He fixed my baccarat clock and several pieces of jewelry. He was so kind and welcoming. I highly recommend stopping in. Long owned Mom and Pop shop with wonderful service.

I was extremely satisfied with my experience purchasing a ring from this jeweler. My salesperson Adam was helpful, knowledgeable, insightful, and a pleasure to work with. They didnt have the item I wanted in stock but they were able to order it. I was bowled over when I was phoned the next day, and informed it was in stock and available. Howard made the pick up and purchase a breeze and was most pleasant. Overall I highly recommend this store.

Good and fast service, my husband brought my Bulova watch in because the leather loops had broken off and I couldn't secure the strap down. The staff were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. They replaced the strap completely for ~$20. So far the leather quality feels great!

Good selection, great service. Would return and am very glad that you can order things online. The salesman was extremely helpful. Loved the atmosphere. Excellent selection of watches, pearls, rings, etc. highly recommend to anyone in the area looking for jewelry. Better than cottage but a bit more pricey. However the greater selection makes up for it. Definitely check it out!

I've been here twice, once for a simple repair to a necklace, and most recently to resize a ring. Both experiences have been wonderful, and I paid a very reasonable price for the high quality work that was done. I appreciate their competitive prices and expertise. I needed to have my wedding ring cut off prior to surgery the next day. I was dreading this to say the least. The first call I placed was to Virag Jewelers. They had so expertly helped me in the past with various watch repairs and battery replacements over the years. Suffice it to say, they made the cut in both the literal sense and figuratively.!

They showed great care in the my ring's delicate removal process and to top it off. I was not charged.! Virag Jewelers is far more interested in cultivating a trusting relationship with there customers. That is why they have been in business for so many years. That is what they have many repeat customers. Furthermore they are an integral part of both Evanston & it's neighboring communities. They are always friendly, knowledgeable & accommodating.

Very friendly good folks. Repaired my watches there twice, they did their best to help. The store is a lovely place with their workshop right in the back, small issues can be fixed very efficiently. Good place.

They fixed my favorite old Seiko wristwatch! I had tried watch repair shops in three cities and they all said it could not be repaired. I looked for a new watch but nothing appealed to me. I decided I would 'donate' my old watch for parts rather than just throw it away. I walked into Virag, having no idea how much they know about watches. The watch repair guy said "we may have the right part. Leave it with us." And they fixed it. For $30. I feel lucky to have found them. And what fun relaxed people they are.

I recently received a beautiful sterling silver chain with my name on a nameplate. The chain is very delicate, and as my luck would have it, it caught on something and broke! And not even the clasp; but in the middle of the chain itself. I immediately brought it to Virag, knowing they would fix it. I just picked it up, and you can't tell where the break was! Very happy! (I will be more careful.);-)

I have been a Virag customer for more than 40 years and I simply won't go elsewhere. They are expert jewelers who do beautiful work at reasonable prices - what more could you possibly want? I read the one negative review here and thought, really? You had the movement changed on your Tag for $75 and you're complaining - please! My boyfriend has several Tags given to him by an uber wealthy brother-in-law and has taken them to the Jewelers Row jewelers where they were purchased for service.

Each time he paid a ridiculous amount of money for pitiful work. I asked him to let me take them to Virag and voila - fixed beautifully for half the price! I love Virag Jewelers (and so does he now) and recommend them to everyone I know. Please frequent this business - they are the kind of small business owners that every town needs!

I love coming to this place for my watch services! They're great at figuring out what's wrong and providing me with honest and reasonable prices and times to fix it. change in batteries is a straight up $10 and they can change it in 10 minutes - exactly what I want and need. I've also brought some jewelry in to fix before and they've been great at giving me prices for it. i had a costume jewelry fixed before and they did a very nice job. I've also brought in finer jewelry, a gold 18k ring that has a super thin band that I broke.

They helped me patch it up though the material they used to patch it up wasn't the same quality as the original material - understandable though. I also broke this same ring again later in the year and ended up taking it to Cottage Jewelry who actually did an even better job so if you have something very delicate and fine, I would suggest you taking it there instead. They're a little bit more upscale and fit better with the gold ring I needed fixed. Everything else though, I would come back to Virag for!
