These are the things that the all-female team at Becky Beauchine Kulka Diamonds and Fine Jewelry pay close attention to, because they are what make jewelry so special. It's a place where people and their families are more important than the product itself. Once focused almost entirely on higher-end work, Kulka has since realized that clients come in all ages.

Services
Selling fine jewelry is only a part of what we do for our customers. As a full-service jeweler, we provide the highest quality repair and restoration services. We can also assist you in getting proper financing and insurance and trade-up value for your diamond. Do you have gold you'd like to sell? We'll give you the best possible return!
Our Four C's of Diamonds guide can help you decide on the most important factors when shopping for a diamond. The word carat derives from the word carob, a Mediterranean seed, which has an extremely consistent weight for measuring. The greater the carat weight, the rarer, and more valuable the diamond becomes.
We have 7 chains to choose from: All come in 14kt yellow Gold and we have 2 options available in White Gold. Chains range from $85-$300 depending on what style and length you choose. Choose your Gem Link! Whether you want to personalize with a birthstone or choose a gem that will inspire you with its meaning or beautiful color, we have a great selection to choose from.
Preferred Jewelers International is a nationwide network of premier independently owned and operated jewelry stores. This association guarantees that your Preferred Jeweler will give you. Thorough inspection of all prongs, channel and setting work to assure none of the stones move in any way. Re-tipping is the process of adding small amounts of metal to the tip of each prong.
Some people want to buy the biggest diamond possible. Is this always the right choice? The larger the diamond, chances are the more inclusions it likely has, and because it's larger, these inclusions are typically even more visible than on a smaller diamond. But most importantly, if the diamond cut isn't proportioned correctly, it won't return the maximum amount of light through the top of the diamond. This illustrates that no matter how large the diamond, its cut and proportions determine how brilliant the diamond really is.

I could not be happier with my ring from Becky Beauchine Kulka. I purchased a diamond online and brought it to Becky for mounting. Becky inspected the stone and let me know that the stone I had was not what the paperwork said it is. I am thankful for her caring so much to inspect my stone and educating me about the stone I had. After returning the bad stone I was able to find a diamond that was perfect.
I came back to Becky and she helped me design the perfect setting. The result is the most beautiful ring I've ever seen. I trust Becky and her team and I cannot stress how thankful I am for their help!

My wife and I decided to purchase our engagement/wedding rings from BBK, we made this decision based on BBK's reputation and quality jewelry. Our initial experience did not disappoint. Kayla was extremely knowledgeable and very helpful the day we made our purchase. I ended up having a minor issue with my wedding band (turned out being a manufacturer defect) which Stephanie ended up assisting us on. I would like to recognize Stephanie and the rest of the BBK team on all their hard work and professionalism throughout our process!

I stopped in to pick up a repair. Stephanie helped me and she was fabulous! She cleaned my rings and we looked at a necklace in the showcase which I am interested in purchasing. She answered my questions and was very helpful in explaining the differences between a couple of items. She was very friendly and willing to share her knowledge! A great experience

While their customer service is very friendly, and I'm sure their already made jewelry is just fine. I would not recommend their custom made jewelry. The past two Christmas my husband has gotten me custom made jewelry. First my mothers ring and then last year the bear necklace with each child's birthstone. My mothers rings lost a gemstone about a year ago.
I recently brought it in to have the gemstone replaced. After having it for a couple days they called because the jeweler said most likely when he replaced the amethyst, the two emeralds next to it would break and need to be replaced as well. I may as well purchase an entirely new ring for that cost. It's kind of ridiculous that the gemstone fell out in the first place.
My grandmother had her mothers ring for over 30years and never lost a stone. It was the same desires mine only with more birthstones! As far as my bear necklace, my husband was already slightly disappointed with the size of the bears and stones based on how much it cost. But again a gemstone has fallen out of it. It is less than a year old! I have plenty of gemstone jewelry that hasn't had any issues like these custom pieces.

My wedding ring came from BBK 18 years ago. One of a kind and always got comments on how amazing it was (til i lost it ) I have several other jewelry pieces from there as well. I recently took a Diamond ring in for sizing and they noticed the prongs were not set to secure the Diamond well enough so they also fixed that at the same time. The customer service is great and staff is knowledgeable or gets someone who can answer the questions you might have. The best jewelry store in the area.

My fiance and I love BBK - my engagement ring is absolutely beautiful and we are so excited to look at wedding bands there soon. We just went in to get my ring sized and the atmosphere was so welcoming and kind, I didn't want to leave! They even polished a necklace of mine while we looked at different rings in the store. I'm looking forward to going back soon!

Becky and her team were absolutely wonderful in helping me choose a new setting for my engagement diamond. We talked about several options, they were very quick and thorough in coming up with drawings, in resizing, in polishing, and also appraised my ring when they finished. I had been given a new wedding band for my 20th anniversary and Becky helped make my engagement ring just beautiful for my 21st anniversary.
I have used Becky for years and never have I felt rushed, pressured or dissatisfied. Stephanie Hogan was instrumental in helping me feel confident and made sure I had a great time too. Love this business. A+++!

This is a review of my experience of over a year ago, but it was my true experience none-the-less. My husband is a retired Army Officer and I have brought jewelry to many fine jewelry stores and from many stores all over the United States including some fine stores in Europe where we lived for three years. Never in my experience when having jewelry appraised, as happened with BBK did I pick up the jewelry after the appraisal and leave without the appraisal in hand but that was the case.
I didn't care for this method and was not told this would happen when I dropped my jewelry off. So #1 problem. When I received the appraisal about two weeks later in the mail I noted that one one claim by their appraiser was that one stone was a "cz". Previously the stone was appraised by Bailey Banks and Biddel a very high end jewelry story, a number of years prior.
So I knew this had to be a mistake. I had never had the ring taken out to be appraised since having it set into the white gold QVC setting that once held a CZ (as stamped on the shank thus I assumed the confusion). I brought this to the attention of the staff. Yet the staff would not budge and stood by the appraiser's assessment. I asked to come into the store to discuss this with them.
I was ushered to the front of the store (I offered to come in when no customers were present) and sat down in one of their comfortable chairs. At that point I had taken it to three other jewelers in the Lansing area, all who told me the Tanzanite was real, not a CZ and the very least it was a lab made tanzanite but in no way was it a CZ. So with confidence I made the meeting with BBK staff.
I was stood over and while they gave the stone another look I was treated cooly, which I expected, so no big deal. But then the fireworks began. The member of staff who had GIA certification was a very large, tall woman. I was already seated. She stood over me and not only did I have to repeatedly tell her to lower her voice, but she berated me about her expertise and her absolute certainty that the stone was a CZ.
I insisted regardless, I wanted my money back as I had lost all confidence in the appraisal. Then Ms. B.B. Kulka came into the fray herself and started yelling at me. I tried to reason with her as three other jewelers had disagreed that the stone was a cz. She then degraded, loudly the three other jewelers and when I persisted in wanting my money back she essentially said, "Do you know who I am?" I was pretty astounded by that. Yeah.
The owner of a store in Okemos, MI. So what? I am a dissatisfied customer who wants her money back. And now I am being verbally attacked in a store full of customers. That makes you pretty arrogant in my opinion. I didn't say that, I just kept that to myself however. I did say at that point though that I was through. To the credit of Kulka, her daughter was the ONLY employee who remained professional and polite through the entire ordeal.
Later I did try one other respected jeweler in town and they sided with Kulka saying the properties of the stone did suggest it could be a CZ. I called Kulka to tell her what this jeweler said and to compliment her about her daughter, only to have Kulka ream me out further over the phone. I was calling to tell her I no longer wished to have my money returned to me and she STILL had to be abusive to me!
There is truly something wrong with this woman. When I first went into the store to drop off my jewelry I was treated very well. When I disagreed with them I was treated horribly, and abusively. SO buyer BEWARE. Dispute your purchase, you take the chance of being verbally abused and treated in a terrible fashion. The choice is yours.

I was looking to have my wedding ring diamond reset and my grandmother's diamond reset. I was a first time guest at Becky Beauchine Kulka and I was so impressed with the help I received. The ladies there all listened to my preference and quickly assessed my style. They were so patient with me and helped me pick the perfect settings for both of my diamonds. I am thrilled with how both pieces turned out and was so pleased with the service I received.

BBK is our go-to for jewelry. Not only do they have a wonderful selection but each and every staff member that has helped either my husband or me has been helpful, courteous, and overall amazing. We are always impressed by the customer service and willingness to find the right piece to fit the gift (or yourself!).

My husband and I bought our wedding rings here and they are beautiful! I'm particularly fond of my gorgeous diamond ring. Very high quality diamonds. I may be a little biased towards my own ring, but I'm pretty sure these are the whitest/clearest diamonds I've ever seen! My husband did a great job picking it out, but I know he had some help and guidance from the Sales Associates too.
They are very knowledgeable, super helpful and very friendly! Definitely recommend shopping for jewelry and diamonds here, especially if you like to shop local and support your community!

How do I put into words, our recent experience at Becky Beauchine Kulka. PHENOMENAL! I was considering having my wedding rings reset, when I first met Christine. She is an amazing woman with so much compassion and foresight. Her attention to every detail is truly where her talent is revealed. Initially, she had me focus on what styles of rings I liked - that in itself was a process! Christine began to sketch the ring designs and what I saw on paper, exceeded my every dream. Somehow, someway she had merged EVERY stone from my ring as well as my Mom's.
Her magic had created a new family heirloom for me as well as my family.she had given a piece of my Mom back to me For 18years, these rings were admired but kept in a drawer. TODAY THEY ARE SPARKLING IN THE SUNLIGHT. Thank you to entire staff of BBK for making my dreams come true. You have a customer for life!

The designers they carry make beautiful pieces, and the staff is friendly. However, these are the things that will prevent me (my husband) from shopping here again: 1. Less than desirable hours of operation. 2. Terrible return policy. 3. This event: My husband purchased a piece of jewelry (by far one of the least expensive pieces he's purchased for me - albeit first time shopping at BBK) for my birthday.
I returned it for two sterling silver everyday-ish pieces ($65 necklace, $65 earnings). Two days later, the necklace broke and I took it back for a repair. When I arrived, I was told I could exchange or have the repair done. I found a necklace that was $125 that I considered exchanging for. I decided to have my necklace repaired and think about the new necklace (especially since I didn't have the earrings I could include for a more even exchange).
A week later, I was told my necklace was repaired so I returned to the store, this time with the earrings. I decided to exchange the earrings and newly repaired necklace for the new necklace, only to be told I could not exchange the necklace because an "in house" repair had already been done on it. I found it contrived that they were willing to exchange the necklace in its broken state (for a $65 increase in the sale), but not an even exchange with the earrings and the fixed necklace.
I will add that all of this occurred well within their horrendous exchange policy. In response to this, I simply stated that I understood and left the store - mostly because I had no interest in arguing the point or spending the time letting her know that BBK just lost many years of sales as my husband buys jewelry for almost every holiday (and that the value of the jewelry in question was not reflective of our means to afford more expensive pieces).
I strongly feel that I was not accommodated because on the surface I appeared to be a non-lucrative customer. For me, value does not lie solely in the delusion of customer service expressed though smiles and complimentary coffee - it exists in accommodations even in the least of sales. Farewell BBK. We will be returning to and staying with the jeweler we shopped at previous to this exchange.

BBK is the best jewelry store I've been to in 3 states. Hands down top notch! Their selection is divine. They carry popular lines like Alex and Ani, LVE, ForeverMark, and some others that are less familiar.which are the ones I am attracted to. My fiance purchased my engagement ring from here, and it was a fantastic experience. We got to borrow a protype ring for a weekend (with a small deposit), and based on that he customized it.
The wedding band is also from there. Sapphires and diamonds. :) My favorite jewelry I own is from there.because they have unique pieces that aren't sold at your average place. Another plus: The people that work there are kind, nice, fun people, not weird, fake, or pressure you like at most jewelry stores. Stephanie is AWESOME to work with! Enjoy some chocolate, a beverage, or a cookie while you shop in their newly renovated beautiful store. If you go here, you will not be disappointed!

You will not find more helpful staff with such a beautiful selection. Not to mention their customer service is top of the line. Having your rings cleaned while browsing for new jewelry is wonderful. I highly recommend this store to anyone who is shopping for engagement rings, wedding bands ETC. They make you feel welcome and comfortable when making such a big decision.

My father bought a beautiful diamond necklace for my Mother. It was the Hearts of Fire necklace. He paid over $5,000.00 for this necklace in 2007. My father passed away 2 years ago and my Mother just passed away 2 weeks ago. To settle the estate we took this Necklace to have it appraised by a reputable jeweler and to our surprise it was appraised for $500.00.
I called the store to ask how this could possible and would they consider buying it back for a reasonable amount. The answer was We don't buy back jewelry unfortunately. Ask if they would appraise it or take it in on trade same No answer. Alls I can say is BUYER BEWARE. So sad that my Dad spent this kind of money on what he thought would increase in value to only find out it decreased in value. Will never go to this store again!

BBK is great! My husband bought my wedding ring here about 4 years ago and they allowed him to custom build the ring-with which he did a great job! That was the first purchase we made at the establishment. Since that time I have gone in to get it cleaned and pick up home cleaner multiple times. They are always very friendly, helpful and NEVER push you to do anything other than what you came in to accomplish. They also have coffee and chocolates on hand and even candy for little ones if you bring them with you. They really understand excellent customer service.
