I stopped in the other day and discussed a design idea with Kevin. It has been a while since I thought about jewelry, and I was reminded about how pleasant it is to shop there. No hard sell, just "what can we do to serve your needs?" Covid changed a lot of things, but here's something that didn't change at Wheat Jewelers: It's still a fun place to shop, and with their custom design service, the only limit to what's available is your imagination. It's nice to have a full service jeweler who can discuss your needs in person, and make alterations and repairs without shipping your jewelry off to who-knows-where.

We went to Wheat Jewelers when the main diamond fell out of my wedding set. Kevin helped us with our claim to the insurance company. We picked a new diamond from their loose diamond selection. Kevin went above and beyond reworking my ring to accommodate a bigger diamond. We are blown away with how great the ring turned out. Kevin did such great work and kept in touch throughout the process. We will definitely be returning for all our jewelry needs. Kevin will make your dreams into reality.

We have been going to Wheat Jewelers for about 5 yrs.now. We were always seeing Archie, who is the owner + is fantastic! Archie is so wonderful + knowledgeable! They have the most beautiful jewelry to choose from. So, we went to see about having my diamond put into a new setting with more diamonds vs my solitaire. We were greeted by Kevin, our salesman, who helped us select a "preset" diamond ring which was beautiful!

After making our selection, Kevin, who was so helpful, friendly, + professional, said our new ring would be "made" for me by adding my diamond from my solitaire to it. We were excited to know the ring was being created for me. When my ring was done + we went in to get it I was so pleased at the beautiful job Mike did in creating my ring! Mike has done work on my jewelry in the past + he is amazing!

He is definitely our go-to guy for any repairs or jewelry issues. Mike did such a beautiful job + all the detail was spot on! We wouldn't go anywhere but Wheat Jewelers for our jewelry needs. If you ever want a jewelry store who is so willing to make your dreams come true, go to Wheat Jewelers in Okemos + believe me, you will be so happy you did. Both employees I worked with were very snobby. I needed a necklace repaired so I went to Wheat only to have one when dropping it off and the other picking it up comment on the weight of my necklace. Very inappropriate and unprofessional what a shame.

I don't wear or purchase a lot of jewelry but when I do, I want quality at a fair price so I go to Wheat. They are knowledgeable, honest, and stay within my budget.

Kevin did a great job creating my wife's custom ring. He initially showed us a computer generated mock-up and then "printed" a 3D sample for her to see and try on - very cool! We are very pleased with the service we received and the finished results, and recommend Wheat Jewelers to you for your consideration.

Ordered a ring from Kevin for my wife. Wanted the adjustable band, and size needed to be exact for it to fit her finger correctly without twirling around. He mailed it to me before Christmas so I was able to surprise her. She cried she loved it so much! It's beautiful and fits perfect! We used Kevin 26 years ago for our wedding rings and use him every chance we get!

The people at Wheat Jewelers really take care of their clients. When I go in there I am always greeted personally and we chit chat about things like family and Michigan State football. Their work is impeccable and it's always a pleasure doing business with them.

This was my first time at Wheat Jewelers and I was very impressed with their service. I came in for a wedding ring repair and Archie welcomed me and provided great assistance. Archie and Mike showed me another needed repair to my ring that I didn't even notice, which I was thankful for. Mike repaired my ring within 24 hours and made my ring look brand new after 17 years of wearing it! Thank you!

I am Impressed! I don't typically leave reviews however, all my experiences with Wheat Jewelers have been excellent since I first found them on Grand River in 2003 when I purchased a "hearts on fire" diamond and creative setting to pop the big question. It sparkled like crazy and was the most creative ring I had seen. Not only do they have the most creative designs, their service is excellent, they are not pushy and very helpful, and they stand behind their products.

I took my wedding band in recently and Kevin made it look like brand new again after 17 years, without question. I cannot say enough good things about Wheat Jewelers. It is hard to find in today's day. Bravo Kevin and Wheat Jewelers!

My husband is a watch collector. I love diamonds and fine gems. We've had great service at several jewelry stores over the years, but Wheat Jewelers isn't one of them. I stopped in to buy my daughter a birthday gift. As I'd never been there before, or since Covid, I didn't know you had to make an appointment. We knocked on the door and they let us in, but not without ensuring we knew we didn't have an appointment.

We had several questions about a special order item we wanted, and the answers were vague, and the man I believe to either be a manager or an owner (he never gave us his name) didn't make eye contact and seemed annoyed with our questions. Against my better judgment, and because I had some guilt over them letting us in without an appointment, we ordered an item from an online catalog.

When it came in, it was less than impressive; it looked cheap and was so fragile for the price they charged us. My daughter went back into the store to voice her concerns over the quality of the piece. They said they would call us back with options later in the week. Long story short, they did.sort of. Once. Only because they had questions about her receipt that they didn't address while she was in the store. The same man that didn't make eye contact with me was rude on the telephone and didn't call me back to address our concerns. We will never be back.

Wow. Kevin did an amazing job for my wife and I! He went above and beyond for us to create something beautiful and sentimental. My wife and I met overseas as English teachers in China. Most of our wedding preparations were from overseas. Kevin was patient with us as we communicated with him via email and video chat (China is 12 hours ahead of the US!).

My wife's engagement ring and wedding band are very sentimental. The center stone is my mother's stone from her ring and the stones in the wedding band are from my wife's grandma's ring. He was also able to melt down the metal from my wife's grandma's ring and put it into hers. In addition, I had Kevin make a pendant necklace by using the center stone of her grandma's ring as a gift on our wedding day. My wife and I are well pleased with Wheat Jewelers and would recommend them to anyone who wants caring people who are professional and patient.

I have been a customer of Wheat's since 2001 and will not go anywhere else. From watches and jewelry for myself to the custom engagement ring they made and now the custom wedding ban that we are working on to match the engagement ring for my fiance. Kevin, Archie and the entire staff are extremely professional and only want the best for their customers. I've been in sales for over 20 years and have never felt pressured or "sold".

I feel like they don't want my money.they want my business and they have it! I can give nothing but rave reviews. I've never had an issue with any jewelry repairs and I tell everyone I know who's looking to go there. Though no one is perfect, I have not had an issue with any of the business dealings I've had at Wheat. Not to mention they remember me by name every time I stop in (.and it's not as often as it sounds lol). I would recommend Wheat to anyone who wants to buy the best quality from people who want to EARN your business and stand by their product. Raving fan!

My fiance went to Wheat Jewelers in March 2015 to purchase my engagement ring. If I were rating my experience solely based on that, I'd be inclined to give a much higher rating. The ring is beautiful. On top of that, when we returned in December to purchase the wedding band, the staff person (a woman, I can't recall her name) was wonderful.

She remembered my fiance, was polite, kind, and professional. Because we live out in California now, we asked them to ship the ring to us, and they did so. I was slightly annoyed that they didn't ask us when we wanted it shipped (they said they would), because someone needed to be there to sign for it, and I couldn't that day. Fortunately, my fiance was able to rearrange his schedule and signed for the ring.

When we opened it, the ring was obviously and noticeably BENT. It's a small band, and it was literally bent. I'm shocked they sent it out. Although it could still be put on a finger, it wasn't even close to being straight. I can't believe they sent it out in that condition. I contacted the staff and they sent a shipping label for me to send the ring back.

They emailed me to let me know it arrived. Once they examined it, the staff member stated, "It is designed to have a subtle curve at the top but I do see the extra bend at the bottom. I'll have the goldsmith take care of it for you." They then contacted me when it was repaired, and asked for an address where to ship it. I sent them the same address, again (don't you have that on file?).

This time around, they said they couldn't do overnight shipping (although they had before). They shipped my ring. I'm waiting for it to arrive. Notice: I didn't receive an apology for all of this until I asked. No one else seemed bothered that they shipped out a bent piece of jewelry. This is something that I'll be wearing the rest of my life, and no one seemed the slightest bit concerned about it.

Although the staff was polite, they didn't in any way go out of their way to alleviate any of my (new and seemingly justified) concerns about the quality of their work. Once I asked for an apology, I got one, but really, should I need to ask? Doesn't this bother anyone else? I'm still waiting to receive my band back from repairs, but honestly, the entire experience left me feeling nervous about what I am going to receive.

On top of that, if you send out shoddy work, at least have the decency to apologize without the customer prompting for it. I recognize this is far from the most expensive wedding band they've ever made, but nonetheless, shouldn't quality be a concern? At this point, there's nothing they can do. The ring was shipped in the condition it was shipped. But really, none of this should have happened in the first place. I'm not terribly inclined to shop there again.

Be careful when using Wheat for jewelry repair. I dropped off a ring to get a quote on resizing, and after I left they went ahead and did the work without confirming the price or checking with me to confirm the work order. The salesperson was unapologetic and did not offer a refund, even though eventually admitting it was a mistake after we reviewed the entire situation.

The quality of the work was fine, so the experience was not a complete negative. Be VERY CLEAR if you just want a quote, otherwise they might just do the work without asking or giving you a price.

If you want a ring altered, DO NOT GO HERE. The jewelry technician won't listen to your requests. My boyfriend got me a promise ring with a cursive engraving on the inside of our anniversary. The ring was a little too big, so I went to Wheat to get it sized. I told the man specifically to not cut through the engraving and he seemed a little annoyed to go through the "extra work" to not ruin the engraving, however, he definitely got the message not to ruin it.

I got a call later that said that they had cut through the engraving and they would engrave it again free of charge. When I got the ring back, it was no longer my beautiful cursive engraving. It looked like a caveman engraved it. My engineer dad could do a better job. If I could give this place zero stars, I would. They ruined my special ring and they seemed not to care at all.
