Before going into their bigger neighbor's stores on either side, I would stop in here first. I think they have a smaller selection but a beautiful Diamond collection and the prices are surprisingly reasonable. I got the feeling that the smaller guy is trying harder to please the customer and I was very impressed by the friendly personal customer service.
It's the best place I've seen for engagement and wedding rings. In the area. A family-run operation, they've been at it for Generations. Don't pass them by. It is definitely jewelry with the Personal Touch.

After reading great yelp reviews, I brought in my heirloom gold/diamond ring to see about having a stone put back in (I had the stone). After they looked at it, I was told that they recommend I get a quote from the goldsmith to see about having the settings redone as it looked like another stone could be loose. I was told they would take good care of my ring and I would hear back about 2 days later. 7 days later I got a call with a quote of approximately $700 to have the ring channels rebuilt.
I understand that this can be a complicated procedure and I understand it is not cheap to do. However -- I was told that while they were cleaning my ring, 2 more stones fell out. I have worn this ring 24/7 for the last 7 years and I am very surprised that two stones fell out while they were cleaning it. I also question why they were cleaning the ring if all they were supposed to be doing was giving me a quote.
I told them I could not afford this repair at this time and asked what it would cost to have the diamonds simply put back in (what I went in for in the first place but now with 2 additional stones to replace) and I would consider the full repair at a later date, understanding that they may fall out again. I was quoted $54 to have the stones replaced and I accepted.
Two hours later I got a call saying that the quote for putting the stones back in was only if I were to get the ring rebuilt and they would not simply put the stones back in because they may not stay so I could pick up my ring and the 3 stones once it returned to the store. I got a call that my ring and 3 loose diamonds were ready to be picked up.
I went to the store, they opened up my ring and could not find the 3 diamonds. I was told they would get them from the shop and they'd call me next week to get everything. I left and about 5 minutes later I got a call that they found them. I had to turn around and go back to get my ring - complete inconvenience. Long story short, I have picked up my ring in significantly worse shape than when I brought it in. I have serious regrets about taking my ring to this jeweler. I will absolutely not be returning and I suggest reconsidering taking your sentimental jewelry here for repair.

My fiance and I bought all of our rings for our wedding at De Robertis. They are both beautiful and affordable. The whole staff were always helpful, pleasant to work with, and made sure they got everything right for us. I've bought prior items from them as well, and each time everything is pleasant, affordable and beautiful. Thank you! I highly recommend.

Once again, the great people at DeRobertis, with a special thanks to Bill, have gone above and beyond to custom fabricate and deliver a set of maternity rings exactly as my daughter had envisioned. only better! Having lived in CT for years, the trip from NH was worth it. You just can't get this level of excellence on the Internet! Thanks once again!

I have recently worked on a custom project with Gene. He went over every detail and created heirloom pieces for my family. Everyone loved them. He was really a pleasure to work with. I enjoy their elegant taste and wonderful selection. Their pieces are unique and brought in from around the World. Last week I needed a graduation gift. They directed me to a fabulous gift. While we were chatting it was wrapped up nicely. I really enjoy the unique trunk shows they have in the shop. I highly recommend them for any service or purchase.

Everyone at DeRobertis Jewelers are so warm and genuine, I love going in. I always feel so welcome, and they always make sure to take care of my jewelery with utmost care! They've done several repairs for me and all have been flawless. My mother even had them replace the setting of a beloved necklace of mine and they made sure the new setting perfectly matched the old one, but exceeded the quality by far. I cannot recommend them highly enough!

This is long overdue and coming from someone who doesn't write internet reviews.but this is a MUST STOP SHOP if you're in the market for jewelry. I walked in back in 2014 looking for an engagement ring.without a clue. Gene and Bill went above and beyond to educate me, and never once pressured me, even after countless trips in and out. In the end, built the perfect ring and my decision to work with De Robertis is still paying off 4 years later.
Fast forward to 2018 and we now live out of state. The ring needed a few things worked on - Gene coordinated everything and made sure it was a very smooth process, keeping me updated every step of the way. Their customer service is unmatched in any industry. Thanks Gene and the De Robertis team!

DeRobertis is my jeweler. This is where I purchased my wife's engagement ring and jewelry for subsequent significant events. It took me 5 months of slipping out of work when I could to drop by their store and look at diamonds and try out different settings. The entire time, they taught me and worked patiently with me to pick the right ring. The feeling I got was that they weren't trying to make a sale, but actually endeavoring to get the right piece of jewelry.
They're local family owned, and they take pride in their work. That is hard to find these days, but is enough to keep me coming back for whatever jewelry needs I have, no matter how far away I move. If you're looking for a shop to buy a piece of jewelry, you need to at least come by this store. I couldn't give a stronger recommendation.

Stopped in today based on yelp reviews. I needed to get a necklace fixed, not only did they fix it right then and there they also didn't charge me! It's a chain that breaks all the time and previous places took weeks to fix and charged at least $10. We will be back for our next jewelry purchase for sure! I only wish I had thought to stop in before I finished Christmas shopping!

I could not have asked for a better experience when buying jewelry. I walked in with no idea what kind of setting I was looking for, and Bill walked me through countless options and the end result was absolutely beautiful. As with most jewelry stores, their jewelry is beautiful and they're priced fairly, but what really sets them apart is the customer experience. The customer service is outstanding and everyone who works in the store is so friendly and helpful.

I could not have asked for a better experience buying an engagement ring. Gene gave me excellent advice and found diamonds that were exactly what I was looking for. Gene was very patient and insightful. The final design was absolutely perfect. Much better customer service and quality than other jewelry stores. Without a doubt 5 stars.

Short version: Know your gram weight and also the daily gold price before you sell. Bring a calculator. Don't sell your gold at Becker's or Lux Bond & Greene. Their quotes are criminal; they profit off people's ignorance. Their unstated sales commissions were over 50% of the gold value. DeRobertis was much fairer, taking a 25% commission. Pawn Queen too - she may not look as fancy but is a thousand times more reputable.
Her commission was 23%. If your gold is complicated, i.e the karat stamp doesn't match the results of acid testing, take it to a buyer who can price it according to x-ray testing. I live closer to Providence than Hartford, and so took mine to New England Gold and Silver in Pawtucket. They were patient, more than fair, and not only did they make the effort to determine the true purity of my gold, they offered the best price of all (proportionate to the daily gold price and purity). Tl;dr version: 1.
I had a heavy gold bracelet. First I went to a gemologist in West Hartford to have it appraised. He claimed later to have tested the metal; he didn't. The appraisal cost me nearly $100, he never mailed me the documentation and was defensive when I called him asking why my appraised bracelet wasn't testing 18k. I'm not going to give him a bad review, though, because I have a soft spot for cranky old men, and also he took the time to explain diamond conductivity, which was fascinating.
In any case, he told me the bracelet was 18k as stamped, weighed 45.2 dwt/70.29 grams, and though the value of the bracelet based on the daily gold price was $1935 or so, the absolute max I would get for it from a gold buyer was $1850, because of commission. "If you can't get $1600 for it, come talk to me, " he said. 2. Becker's $900 stated offer $1935 value = 46.5% of value offered (based on 18k) Gold buying commission: 53.5% 3. Lux Bond & Greene $655 stated offer $1505 value = 43.5% of value offered (based on 14k) Gold buying commission: 56.5% 4. Disheartened, I went next door to De Robertis.
The vibes were way better. They were cute. Dunno what kind of test they did, but the bracelet tested at 18k and they offered me $1460. If I wanted to sell, though, I would have to return the following week because their gold buyer was out of the shop and had the checkbook. DeRobertis $1460 stated offer $1935 value = 75% of value offered (based on 18k) Gold buying commission: 25% 5. Pawn Queen gold buying commission: 23% $1160 stated offer $1505 value = 77% of value offered (based on 14k) 6. NE Silver and Gold (Pawtucket, RI) gold buying commission: 16% $1400 stated offer $1677 value = 84% of value offered (based on 65% purity, which was accurate)

Each and every time I go to Derobertis I have a great experience. Bill and the rest of the team always treat me well, they have a pressure free/consultative sales approach and I can honestly say I feel comfortable each time I make a purchase with them. I am confident their quality, price and service can not be beat. Every other place I've been to have been quick to whip out the calculator and give me the best price and are more concerned about making a sale rather than a customer for life.
Bill and his team will treat you right to earn your business, repeat business and referrals. How else could he compete with all the online business, Beckers, Lux Bond and all the other retailers within a stones throw. I highly recommend you check out Derobertis before you go anywhere else.

My fiance and I had a great experience at De Robertis Jewelers. Everyone we dealt with was always so kind and down to earth and really wanted to help! We got my fiances wedding band here and it was perfect. He wanted something extremely specific and it was really hard to find. We found the same looking ring at 2 other places but they couldn't come close to the deal we got at De Robertis!
The jeweler even checked and cleaned my engagement ring, just as a courtesy! Oh, did I mention the engraving of the ring was included!?! And when picked it up and paid in full, we got a $50 off $150 gift certificate! We really look forward to stopping by in the future :

I spent months casually looking for an engagement ring at different jewelers, never enjoying the experience or dealing with any of the typical jewelry store salespeople that describe everything as elegant or spectacular or splendid. Then a friend recommended that I look at DeRobertis. Within the first 20 minutes Bill and Gene understood exactly what I was looking for, helping me design a completely custom ring with a non-typical center stone.
They were great. A few months after proposing my fiance burned her hand severely and the ring was cut-off at the hospital (cut in 3 places I might add). Fast forward 9 months. My fiance's hand healed well and we returned to DeRobertis with pieces of the ring in the same hospital specimen jar that we were sent home with. Without missing a beat, I was greeted at the door by my first name as if they had seen me weekly rather than a year prior.
And that was without seeing the ring and in street clothes. They inspected the ring and said not to worry, they could repair it. They did and did an unbelievable job. The ring was and is very intricate with custom scrolling throughout the entire band. We are very impressed and incredibly happy with DeRobertis Jewelers. They will have our business for life, no question about it.

A beautiful small boutique jewelry store in the heart of the West Hartford "Jewelry District." Sometimes I feel like smaller jewelry stores are better - they don't feel the need to put the kitchen sink on display, and only show their best items. I'm no jewelry expert, but this surely seemed like the case at DeRoberti's. That said, I actually came here to sell. Had some scrap gold, and after shopping at four different places, DeRoberti's gave me be the best offer.
It was a little disenfranchising to see such a wide variation in offers from other jewelers, but let's just say I'm glad I shopped around and settled here. After going home and doing some number crunching, I'd say they gave me a square deal - they took a fair profit on the current market value of my gold, and cut me a nice check for the rest :. Gene was kind and professional through the whole process. Such an experience makes me want to come back as a buyer when the need arises.
