Black Hole Body Piercing

I've been coming to Black Hole for a while now. Tony has done all my piercings including body, facial, and ear, most recently a daith and conch. Everything looks fantastic and I've had no problems with healing or infections. Everything is always sterilized and all the staff are super friendly and helpful. Prepare to spend quite a bit when you come in, but you really do get what you pay for so it's definitely worth it. If you're getting a piercing, you will not regret coming here!

I will say that I do like my piercing, however, my experience here left much to be desired. I made an appointment a week in advance and still waited 45 minutes. The piercer made a mistake and told me that it wouldn't heal. After waiting so long, paying a lot of money, and personally putting a lot of thought and effort into wanting this piercing, I asked what my options were.

The piercer offered to try again and waive the piercing fee which he said would be put back on my card. I appreciated the honesty and thought that sounded fair. The next day I get a call from someone else saying that they will just be giving me store credit instead which barely covers half of the price for jewelry they sell there. I would say that employees should all know the policies before telling the customer something they can't follow through on.

I was looking around for piercing places to put my VCH jewelry back in (I'm not from the area) and I was referred to this location. I got really lucky and was able to snag a cancelled appt. Everyone there was so helpful and informative and made me feel really comfortable. I would make the trip back to Reno just to have a piercing with them.

Angela is exceptional. She was so nice and explained everything in such detail for my teenager to understand. My daughter felt that Angela helped her to stay calm and comfortable. Super professional, experienced, helpful and informative. My daughter loves her new piercing. Highly recommend seeing Angela.

I took my 8 year old daughter for earlobe piercing, everyone there was absolutely fantastic. They were all so kind and patient, and incredibly professional the entire time. Josh and Tony did a phenomenal job talking her through the process, and helping to ease her fears. I was incredibly pleased and satisfied with the entire experience, and I would 100% go back, and highly recommend to anyone.

I absolutely love this shop. It's impeccably clean and each staff member is kind and professional. Not only is Vanessa Jo incredibly calm and thorough in her explanations of what she is doing and the required aftercare but she's also straight up a lovely human. Yes, it's on the more expensive side but I've yet to have an experience this positive anywhere else. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

Wonderful experience getting my daith done here with Joshua. Helpful staff and friendly conversation. The whole process of placing the piercing was careful and thoughtful. Be ready to pay more for jewelry than you think but know that it is high quality and beautiful and staff will help you find something in your price range.

Another successful piercing at Black Hole Body Piercing! 6 months ago I got my conch pierced by Tony. Not only him but everyone who helped me along the way was amazing. So much so that 6 months later I'm back for some new jewelry and 2 new piercings from Tony. Thanks for an amazing experience everyone from reception to jewelry counter to piercer. I'm sure I'll see you next year for some more!

On my birthday I went in for 3 piercings, 2 helix and conch, insanely expensive. When I went in for my 6 week check up I switched to a smaller conch jewelry, they charged me an extra 20 dollars to change to a longer back stub on a brand new piece of jewelry and did not give me the original back stub it came with for when swelling went down. Also tried to keep my 100$ conch jewelry piece saying they would sanitize and keep for my next appt even though i didn't have another appt, so how long did they expect to keep it for. Paid over 400 dollars for 3 piercings and would have been half as much at another establishment

Vanessa is the best! I had a nostril piercing that was forming a bump when I first got to Nevada. I saw Vanessa and she gave me a lot of insight into the issue. I decided to take it out and then return to get it redone. I returned today. Super quick and easy. She explained everything and it went perfectly. I highly recommend this shop. The place is clean. They sterilize everything. They are also super knowledgeable. I can't say enough good things.

This is without a doubt the best shop to get pierced at in Nevada. The entire staff, ranging from receptionists to piercers are both professional and compassionate. From my experience of being a customer for over five years, I can say that they've been consistent with their processes and their overall efficiency running the shop. With new covid measures, the addition of appointment only, mixed with their services being in high demand; wait times are to be expected so trust the process as the staff is doing their best in a time of growing customer service apathy. I've been pierced by the kind shop owner Angela, the very sweet and tender Vanessa, and the personable piercer Josh.

Shout out to the shop manager Alex who is also very knowledgeable and consistently professional, and to the counter staff Tallulah and Kayla who always go above and beyond with assisting me curate jewelry.

We had a wonderful experience here. The piercer was amazing and made my daughter feel comfortable and very informed. Even though my daughter was a couple of years beyond the age that requires tandem piercing, we paid the extra money to have a tandem piercing. Although the overall experience was great, we are left disappointed because her piercing is not placed evenly.

One side is higher than the other. The piercer spent a lot of time placing and replacing the dots and the dots were placed evenly, so I don't know what happened. It bothers my daughter that they are not even. I think it is not too bad, but if you do look, it is uneven. Considering I paid almost $100 (not including the jewelry) for the tandem piercing fee, I was left disappointed too. Everything else about our experience was good.

I always have a good experience when I'm here. I finally got my tragus piercing and a couple helix piercings done in one appointment. I've had a few more done here too and I can't speak more highly of this shop. Everything is super clean and love how they're managing their customers in a very organized way. Friendly staff as always!

Big shoutout to Tony for explaining everything and always being super chill. I experienced some people that were irritated by walking-in and finding out you had to have an appointment- even for looking at jewelry. Literally takes two seconds to check their website and see what their protocols are before waking in and "expecting" certain things. The entitlement is real with some If you're smart and know how to make an appointment, you'll have a great time here!

I have shopped at Black Hole for a long time, but just recently decided to add several new ear piercings. I believe I have had the pleasure of working with most of the piercers over the last few months and they have all been professional, knowledgeable, and kind. Vanessa Jo, Tony, Joshua, and Kayla. All fabulous, helpful, and gentle. In addition, to the amazing piercers, Aly helped me with placing a special order for a pretty nose piece.

She is professional, gracious and communicated about prices and time frames with me often. The owner has a lovely studio, and an incredible group that works hard and makes the piercing experiencing perfect. How lucky we are to have Black Hole Body Piercing in our community.

I just moved to Reno and was looking to buy a nose stud. The receptionist asked me if I have an appointment. To which I told her no, I just want to look at the nose jewelry. In a condescending way she told me that I need an appointment for that. I said, "oh okay I didn't know that." Then she proceeded to show me the appointments on computer to prove it to me, even though I did not ask for proof.

She said they could help me that day because they had a cancellation and I got lucky. Anyways the guy who helped me out with the body jewelry was very nice. I chose a piece that was around $160. He then told me that the jewelry had to be sterilized, and it would take 15 minutes. He asked if I wanted to go do some thing else and then come back, to which I politely told him I would wait in the lobby.

There was only one other customer sitting down and there was another empty chair. I was told that I cannot wait in the lobby because they have a customer capacity. Although there was only one other customer in the room. I just felt like I was not an appreciated customer and was not treated nicely. Especially since I did make a purchase despite the receptionist being so rude with her tone. I've read the owners responses to the other bad reviews because the service is unfriendly. They refuse to believe that their staff is unfriendly despite the many reviews claiming this. It's like they don't take any responsibility and blame the customer.

I absolutely LOVED this place! I had an amazing experience! Mike took time to explain to me the type of jelwery best for me, he was really good at guiding me in the selection of my piercing. So professional and so knowledgeable! Then Vanessa who did my piercing took really extra time to make sure she answered all my questions and went through the before and after care thoroughly which I so appreciated! It made me want to come back, get more jelwery and more piercing in this place, which I will definitely do!

The place is very clean and sanitized between each customer. All staff are very friendly, accommodating and willing to answer questions as well as give advice for first-timers. Joshua pierced me both times I have gone now and he is an excellent personality. Makes sure you know how the piercing is going to go beforehand, what your aftercare will look like and answers all of your questions. I would highly recommend this place for anyone looking to get their first, second, fifth, etc piercing!

Just wanted me in and out messed up my nose. I dont want to put names but I felt like she was annoyed when she walked in the room. She didn't seem passionate about piercing and told me to "trust the process", and continued to place it wrong 5 times. I asked to place it myself and she tole me no. I got to the point where I felt good about it, so i let her pierce it.

I took a look in the mirror after its done AND I COULD SEE THE DOT BEHIND THE JEWELRY! What was the point of placing it 10 times if you weren't going to pierce it where you put it! Waste of my money! I posted it on my snapchat and had a WHOLE bunch of people saying they had the same thing happen to them at Black hole with different piercers as well. I know this place has hype, but don't trust it. I would recommend Under Your Skin. They are cheaper and actually do a good job!

The 2 Josh's were amazing. Best pep talk to a 7 year old who has waited a year to get her ears pierced. She was very nervous but they talked her through each step and made us all very comfortable. My one concern that prevented a 5 star was the greeter and jewelry selecting. The greeter, although nice enough, was over the top at how she spoke to everyone. Simplicity is best.

When selecting the jewelry, I asked to isolate our choices and her response was rapid and unclear. The first and second selection was apparently unavailable in pairs. This is why I asked to isolate. After we confirmed the 3rd selection was available she went through the pricing at warp speed. It's so unnecessary to communicate that way. I often find when people do that, they are working on commission.

Communication is very important when the final bill is 245 bucks. The most important people in a business are the initial contact employees. They set the tone for the entire experience

Soooo glad I brought my daughters here instead of the mall. The staff was professional, kind, friendly, patient and willing to work with our special circumstances. Josh made my daughters feel comfortable, kept the mood in the room light hearted (even though my girls were very nervous), and explained everything clearly. I loved that they offered a tandem piercing option.

My girls both got it over and done with in one go! The team work really was impressive. I also truly appreciated that they gave my special needs daughter some extra time and care. They were very clear that it had to be a safe situation for everyone involved & one that she agreed to in order for them to even attempt to pierce her ears. Once the kinks were sorted out, they got it done and everyone left with smiles! Thank you Josh & Black Hole. Well done!

Love this place! my 2nd time getting pierced here.got my double helix piercings last year here and an upper lobe/lower helix today here. they're so nice and considerate, making the cost worth it for me come here if you want a piercing done right and make memories with the staff along the way. I got pierced by tony my 2nd time, highly recommend him : thanks guys!

I'm giving two stars because the shop was very clean - and they had amazing jewelry choices. I'm also only giving two stars - because I would NEVER get pierced there. Shuffling people around like cattle. No friendliness. The receptionist is extremely pushy and had a manor about her that made me want to put my face through a wall. They didnt have appointments available so we wanted to look at jewelry.

We had to wait in line (understandable due to covid) then when we got over there were asked multiple times "what are you looking for" to which the reply multiple times was "just looking" - to which we received the reply "looking for what? Then when I finally did have a question she knew nothing about the jewelry. All around very uncomfortable environment.

Which is unfortunate because the shop is gorgeous and I have heard the piercers are great. Edited to add response to the shop manager - I'm aware why she asked us what we were looking for - we were "just" looking at everything. We both have multiple piercings. The issue is she kept asking repeatedly after we made it clear we would ask for help when we needed it.

The question about the jewelry involved size and diameter. The receptionist was very nice - and very overwhelming. Intense would be a gentle euphemism. The shop was extremely clean - the ambiance was uncomfortable. Although I appreciate the response there is not any further action needed. There are plenty of other shops. I'm sure plenty of people enjoy your studio, and I am aware how long it's been running successfully. I'm just commenting my opinion and perspective as one does on yelp, relative to my personal experience.

I got my nose pierced here 6 months ago from a temporary employee. (He said he was a temp) Honestly, I had a negative experience overall at that initial visit. I didn't want to go back but I figured I'd go in one more time and so I made appointment for a week out. I came in last night to have jewelry changed out. I purchased new jewelry and Tony was my piercer.

He was so great! He literally changed my outlook on this place and I know if I ever refer anyone here- I'll send them to Tony. I'll never again take "first available" piercer. I should've known, Like with anything- It's important to do your research and get someone that's experienced and knows what they're doing! He was confident and skilled. Night/Day from my first experience. 5 stars for Tony! This place is super clean. Friendly staff.

Tony is the best. Very friendly, calming, great at piercing and has a great eye. The guy at the front who handles all the traffic coming in and out is also super nice. This place has great jewelry as well.

Came in from out of town, lost my nose ring & just needed a replacement. Walked in and was told it would be a 20 minute wait just to purchase the jewelry, without any installation or assistance. Just to buy it. So i waited to 20 minutes, then was told they'd have to have a piercer bend it or install it and that would take another 30 minutes. She stated they were just letting me know so that I didn't waste my time, but i had already wasted 25 minutes waiting.

The staff was unapologetic and rude. It's ridiculous that this is the only shop in the area & you can not just buy jewelry without having to wait almost an hour or having an appointment.

I live in California but was recommended to come here by a friend in NV. So made the trip to come to BH. I'm super happy with my conch piercing. They were very organized. Take everyone's health and safety seriously by enforcing their policies to protect others. The jewelry prices are on the high side, that being said everything looks to be of high quality.

The owner is the one that pierced me and she was very nice. She was highly knowledgeable and I appreciated her advice. All items used were sanitized and sealed. She also hooked me up with supplies that I needed to replace jewelry for an old piercing. The only thing that could have been better is if the front staff was more friendly. They were fully booked and trying to go through each appointment efficiently, however some of that customer service got lost with the person at the front.

She had an edge to everything she said and was not personable at all. Almost felt like we were bugging her. I'm going to assume she was having an off day. Otherwise I was very impressed and happy with my visit. I'll be coming by again when I'm in town.

Two of my sisters and I went in to get forward helix piercings. I love that you can book online for the exact service you want. The front desk staff and folks who helped us pick our jewelry were helpful, friendly, and patient. I felt reassured in several ways that they are taking Covid seriously, which reinforced my sense that it's a very clean place. Angela pierced all three of us.

She has such great energy, educated us about the process and post-piercing care, and made us feel comfortable from start to finish. I can't recommend her enough. Fortunately when I came back the next day for more lobe piercings, Angela was my piercer. Again, she explained everything she was doing, made sure my piercing spots/plans were just right and even coached me through the pokes with breathing. I can't imagine a better piercing experience!

The inside was very nice and clean I was greeted as soon as I walked in by a very friendly receptionist all the staff we're very knowledgeable and very friendly and extremely helpful they have a great selection of high-end jewelry and body piercings they helped me along with exactly what I needed and even recommended a couple of things I was very happy with the customer service they we so cool they even threw in 2 spare beads just in case. So Awsome I was impressed with the wide selection that they have and I will definitely be back
