Hudson-Poole Jewelers

We took two pieces of jewelry to Hudson- Poole for an appraisal. I spoke to someone in May to have them notify me of the date that the appraiser would be in. Not one time did he mention that it would be $150.00 for me to have them appraised. I have a jeweler in Birmingham who customized my engagement ring that would have been happy to appraise them for me at no cost.

Since I live in Tuscaloosa, I figured I would just take it somewhere local that was recommended by a doctor that I work for. After picking up my pieces of Jewelry, they charged me $150.00. Out of the three employees that I spoke to to set up the appointment, confirm and to check in my items, not one mentioned a charge. I called the store after my fiance picked up the jewelry and spoke to the manager who continued to make excuses for his employees.

He also mentioned that they typically collect the fees before the appraisal is done so it was "odd" that they didn't. I'd understand if maybe one employee forgot to mention it, but THREE employees. not a single one ever mentioned a charge. He made zero attempt to correct the situation, which only further frustrated me. I just couldn't imagine providing a service and making no mention of the charges for the service and then not correcting the situation when your employees "failed to mention" the charge.

I would lose my job if I did that. Absolutely would never in my life recommend this place to anyone. They can't keep their story straight. Definitely not a company I would trust handling anything valuable.

John and his team have never cease to amaze me with their knowledge and genuine care for the work that they do. It's always a pleasure to do business with them and I never worry about leaving my jewelry for maintenance. I will never shop anywhere else for my jewelry. More recently, I had the pleasure of Noel helping me with maintenance and inspection on my engagement ring and she was very thorough and extremely friendly. I can't speak highly enough of this business.

My engagement ring had an unfortunate run in with a refrigerator that left a silver mark on one of it's prongs. Although the scratch was tiny, and most people would forget it was even there.it was driving me crazy. I brought my ring in on Saturday morning and was in and out in 10 minutes. John was able to gently buff out the silver (which ended up being part of the refrigerator coating that just stuck on) and my ring is good as new!

While he buffed it out, he also checked the integrity of the diamonds and made sure everything was secure. Highly recommend this shop, will be the only place I go to from now on!

I didn't realize I had only selected a star for a review and didn't sing the praises of the owner and staff at Hudson-Poole. I have never made a decision about a purchase so quickly with such satisfaction and ease. I think there is some magic inside of that store. Couldn't be happier.he even provided a referral for insuring the piece. More magic!

I was blown away by the customer service at Hudson-Poole. We came in to look at engagement rings on a Saturday about 30 minutes from closing, and the staff were incredible. I told them what I liked and my budget and they were able to help us find ones that fit what we wanted. The store is immaculate, and you can tell they truly want each customer to have a great and personalized experience. They were never pushy or looking to push us past our price point at all. Incredibly patient and just a fantastic experience all around. Highly recommend!

John and his staff are exceptional. The customer service at Hudson and Poole is great. When you walk in they greet you with a smile. Ten years ago, I purchased my wife's engagement ring here because of their wonderful reputation. With help from Krista, I got the perfect ring (All of the 4Cs) for my wife. Thanks a million.

I have visited the store to redesign a band for my diamond ring that I've had for a long time but not liking the style too much. They drawer up a beautiful fancy computer graphics design of the ring base on details I want with measurements of all angle. and even provided me a wax version of the band to try on. and everything is free of charge. isn't that Amazing But I later have decided of not to go with it because my sister like the original ring and wanted to purchase the ring from me.

I felt bad to have them working so hard for me for nothing so I also purchased a beautiful pair of diamonds and citrine earring before I left the store just to thank you for their service Love them The best in town

Okay, I admit I thought the other Google reviews might have been exaggerated, but Hudson-Poole really is just that great. Absolutely fantastic service. The lady who helped us was so nice and got our repairs done almost immediately. We spent only $20 but she treated us like we were spending thousands. Hudson-Poole will definitely be our first choice in the future.

I have shopped at Hudson Poole for years and have always been pleased. Over the last 4-6 weeks have shopped there several times. After learning that my favorite sales associate was not longer employed there, I was apprehensive about the service I would receive. I must compliment the friendly, energetic, bubbly personality and professional help by sales associate Kerry.

She was so kind and prompt in completing my request and wrapping gifts for me. I love the fact that they're not pushy, very friendly and very knowledgeable. I like that they noticed the things I look at and asked me if there's something I want to say without being I'll barely selling. They clean my wedding ring every time I visit like saying hello. They've repaired my Very special pearls for me and a great price and helped me keep a family heirloom moving through generations.

They like special requests, like the mother's ring I wanted. With Only one child it's hard to get the birthstones (multiple colors for multiple children) looking like a real mothersring. They helped me solve the problem by getting a thin band of my sons birth stone in blue topaz in small jewels that wrap around the ring. It's a beautiful piece of jewelry that is my mother's ring of my son. I appreciate very much time they spent helping me a get piece of jewelry that was so special.

Their products are top quality and their people are never pushy. I didn't even price-shop engagement rings because after my first consultation at Hudson Poole, I knew they were good people that would take care of me and whom I could trust.

I contacted Hudson-Poole looking for a very difficult-to-find designer setting. Mr. John-Poole, Vice President, quickly replied to my inquiry. He went the extra mile to contact the designer to have the setting shipped to him so I could view it in person. I am so thankful for their excellent customer service.

I don't make many jewelry purchases, but if I do I am going to Hudson Poole Fine Jewelers. I visited several stores in the Tuscaloosa area when engagement ring shopping over 11 years ago. No one came close to the level of personal service and diamond education as Hudson Poole. I have been very pleased to work mainly with John Poole over the years, but have been equally impressed with each of the salespeople who I have observed while visiting the store. The prices are fair, the service is exceptional, and the inventory is unmatched in this market.
