Any item can be appraised at the time of sale at no charge. This excludes repairs and castings, which are done by appointment for a fee determined by the complexity, number of pieces appraised and time invested. Previously appraised items may be re-appraised at a lower charge. We can do most types of repairs, including ring sizing and shank replacement, prong repairs and stone setting, bead and pearl restringing, and engraving. Please contact us and we will gladly furnish you with an estimate for all parts and charges.
Carat is the unit in which a diamond is weighed. One carat equals to 0.2 grams or 200 milligrams. Carat weight is the prime factor that determines the weight of a diamond. Larger diamonds are undoubtedly costlier. Carat makes expressing diamond weight easier as compared to milligrams. Instead of giving three labels to diamonds weighing 20 milligrams, 211 milligrams and 220 milligrams, carat offers a category for fitting the diamonds in a one category, placing these diamonds in one-carat range.One should not forget that high carat weight does not necessarily mean a larger looking diamond.

Extremely angry with these people. I've been fighting all year to find someone that could custom make an engagement ring. Finally found these people a month or two ago. They assured me that they could help me design and have the ring on my woman's finger by my deadline of Jan 2nd. It's currently Dec 30th and while I could take them at their word that they have the ring, I'm not really inclined to do so.
On Dec 28, they told me it would be delivered the next day and that they would call or email me when they had it. Yesterday came and went with no contact. Understandable. Today, I try emailing them and calling them. Their answering machine helpfully declared they'll be closed the 28 through the 3rd. I go by their store and, sure enough, it's barred up with a neat little sign repeating the same thing. So, the same day they said I might be able to pick up my ring was the same day they started their little "checking inventory" thing.
No call; no email; nothing for over a month to tell me that they wouldn't be able to make my deadline due to a preplanned closure. Even their Google page says nothing about being closed before the holiday weekend. That's what really hurts the most; I could accept an unforeseen derailment, but they were planning this thing for months and told me not a word.

Fincher and Ozment is nothing short of incredible. Tom and his staff are friendly and helpful. I wouldn't trust anyone else in the business but them. This was a special design using 4 generations of diamonds that I started with my sweet friend Leah, Tom's wife. Upon her passing, Tom worked endless hours with me to create the most perfect piece of heirloom jewelry that I have ever seen. The finished product took my breath away and left me in tears. I couldn't have asked for a more gorgeous piece of jewelry. Thank you Tom, I love it and so would Leah!

Tom and his staff go above and beyond and have been a blessing to help pick out precious gifts for my family. When my grandmother left me her diamond ring that I've adored for years I knew Fincher & Ozment would take extra special care in handling repairs and sizing. The ring looks like new and as beautiful as I remembered it as child.

So excited about my new earrings from Fincher and Ozment Jewelers! They took 2 pairs of old earrings and combined them into a fabulous new pair. They worked with a picture and my idea and totally nailed it! Plus the earrings were ready much sooner than they promised. Our first experience with Fincher & Ozment was in 2011/2012 when I shopped for and purchased my wife's engagement ring. We have now been married for over 5 years and have consistently received above excellent service from Tom and their staff. Recently we needed to have several pieces of jewelry re-appraised, including my fathers Vintage Rolex. We have since moved to Birmingham and at first tried to get quotes for the appraisal locally, only to be turned away And given the run around by the "big name" jewelers in the area.
I called Tom and he instantly took care of our needs, no hassle, treating us like returning family members. Even though we are no longer in the immediate area, I will only be returning to Fincher & Ozment and would recommend anyone else to do the same.
