Established in 1992, Decatur Jewelry & Pawn is one of Illinois' leading pawn stores. We are located in Decatur, Illinois, and in 2007, we expanded to a second location in Mt. Zion, Illinois. Our two stores offer full-service jewelry & loan services. Our pawn department has the most professional, well-respected and knowledgeable staff in the pawn industry.

Owner is a Blatant Liar and a dishonest businessman. 1. I was sold a USED firearm without being warned that the object I was purchasing may very well have been placed down someone else's pants. 2. I was then verbally berated by the owner after requesting a refund. 3. I was then written a nasty disrespectful message from Perry the owner. Response from the owner 2 hours ago Not much of a response needed here.
Just facts. Joe is in his living room. Loads magazine into a firearm that he fails to check to see if it's loaded. IT IS. Points gun at wall & pulls trigger, blasting his wall. Tries hiding stupidity from wife & kids. He FAILS every gun safety fundamental there is. He's embarrassed & asks to return firearm because it's defective. I explain how he failed every gun safety measure & suggest he takes a gun safety course before owning a firearm.
Of course, this is all our fault. Enough said. 1. I had a snap cap in one hand and a bullet in the other and mixed them up by accident. (As I told Perry the owner) 2. I do NOT HAVE A WIFE OR KIDS! (He has completely fabricated that nonsense) 3. I NEVER claimed the gun was defective. 4. The only fault that Perry and his shop are responsible for is the fact that I was told the gun was new, or I would not have purchased it. 5. Why don't we honest people just puke at the thought of this pitiful putz and move on.

Decatur Jewelry and Pawn is not only the best pawn shop I have ever been too but they offer so much more than just a pawn shop. I have been a customer for well over a decade and I have never been disappointed. Perry the owner is a great person and businessman. My latest purchase was from Lana and as always a smooth and flawless transaction. Her knowledge of her department is excellent and she always has a smile on her face. Lana is always willing to go the extra mile for her customers!
What I love is the greeting you receive when you enter and some of the employees even call you by name which is always a plus! I highly recommend them for anything from jewelry, electronics, music equipment, tools, generators to hunting equipment and more! Support local!

We've purchased jewelry from many places throughout the world over the past 50 years. Often jewelry will have to be maintained (damaged or missing stones replaced, resizing, etc.). We've had our jewelry repaired at various jewelers both in and out of the country. Late yesterday I stopped by Decatur Jewelry & Pawn for a repair estimate. I went there because another Jeweler in Decatur tried raising their estimate by 60% after our jewelry had been left with them for 3 work days and we had already agreed on a price.
I spoke with a very knowledgeable gentleman at Decatur Jewelry & Pawn. He examined the ring and told me what repair would be necessary then quoted me a price. I agreed on that price as it was a small fraction of what the other jeweler wanted for doing the same work. I just picked up the piece of jewelry and it looks brand new. I'm very impressed with the professionalism of both the sales and jeweler who worked on the ring. We will do business again with these wonderful people. Thank you Decatur Jewelry & Pawn.
