One carat equals to 0.2 grams or 200 milligrams. Carat weight is the prime factor that determines the weight of a diamond. Larger diamonds are undoubtedly costlier. Carat makes expressing diamond weight easier as compared to milligrams. Instead of giving three labels to diamonds weighing 20 milligrams, 211 milligrams and 220 milligrams, carat offers a category for fitting the diamonds in a one category, placing these diamonds in one-carat range. One should not forget that high carat weight does not necessarily mean a larger looking diamond.

Garrick Jewelers is absolutely the best jewelry store I have ever been to. They make you feel at home the minute you walk through the door. They listen to what you are interested in and offer ideas and suggestions but never try to sell you something you may not be happy with in the long run. We have been doing business with them for over 25 years and have never been disappointed.

Simply put, they are the best. Honest people are hard to find these days. If you want to sell your old gold, this is the place. Don't go to a pawn shop! Pawn shops are a rip-off. So are the on-line gold buyers. Garrick will keep you well informed about every step in the process. Also, if you sell your gold to them and want a store credit, they will give you an even better deal. Their selection and service are the best I have ever seen. Check out their watch collections!

This has been my jewelry store of choice after being introduced to it by my youngest daughter after she bought her wedding rings from Garrick's. They have a phenomenal selection of exquisite jewelry. And their customer service is second to none. My latest trip was a purchase and a repair. Which was supposed to take a week. I was notified that it was ready in 24 hours. This business knows how to provide service after the sale.

Devon and Garrick Jewelers are the most excellent, caring, patient and helpful folks we have ever worked with, Our Custom Engagement ring, was not only delivered on time, but better than we expected, the clarity, craftsmanship and design, Wow. They were great from start to finish and through the Design changes, they were not only helpful, willing, informative and patient but enthused. We Highly Recommend Garrick Jewelers. These folks are at the top of my list! I am an avid collector of Invicta watches, but have very small wrists for a man, thus Invicta bracelet style watches, for men, are ALWAYS too big! The folks at Garrick have been wonderful about sizing down these watch bracelets for me.and they are FAST! They do, in 10 minutes, what would take me 2 HOURS to accomplish, with my shaky hands! AND.they treat me, and my $10 watch band sizing, just as nicely as if I were spending thousands on diamonds! Most jewelers won't even be bothered!

I just completed spring cleaning, & purged a lot of items including clothes & accessories. Had some gold pieces that I no longer wore so decided to check out Garrick's based on the one other Yelp review. It was definitely worth the 40 mile trip. They have a wonderful variety of very high quality pieces, & there is also a wide range of price points.
I thought Gary (one if the owners) gave me a good price for my gold & I used the credit towards a beautiful estate piece. Avoid the cookie cutter chains (Jared's, Zales, etc.) & shop at a local (small) business for a personalized & enjoyable experience!

I have never yelped about anything before, but I had to make an account for this store. I had the absolute worse customer service with this store, so bare with me for its length. On December 21st, I brought my watch into Garrick Jewelers for a minor repair. My watch had a small crack on the face of it, and the metal surrounding the date fell off and was being thrown around inside the glass.
I took it in and they told me it had very minor damage, and wouldn't cost any more than $50 (she actually gave me a ballpark of $15-20). Also, it wouldn't take long to be repaired, with the 6th of January being the latest. Naturally, I was overjoyed and left the watch there. I called multiple times the week of the 6th to see if it was ready, but it wasn't even shipped to the watchmaker yet. Then, on the 16th (yes, a full 10 days after they promised it would be done), they called me for the go ahead on repairs, and the cost would be $110. Naturally, I was furious, and they said that the watch was in a little worse shape than they first thought, and even went so far as to tell me that the first woman that I spoke to didn't tell me the truth about the cost.
They told me that $50 of the $110 was for insurance for the next two years, and I finally agreed due to this being a very sentimental watch for me. They then promised that it would be ready at the latest by the 15th of January. Now I had to go back the 18th of January to college, so I was wary, but they assured me it would be ready then. Naturally, I called the 15th to see if I could come in and get my watch.
They informed me that my watch wasn't ready yet, but I could come in and pay for it and it be shipped up to me at college. So, I go in fuming and they apologize for the wait but the watchmaker was on vacation. Then, they tell me the price is $150. I flat out refused, stating that they told me it was $110, and I'm not paying a cent more. They informed me that they had to have me pay for the shipping cost, with it being the most expensive shipping that someone had to sign for, and for extra insurance for the watch traveling. So, not only did it have to be shipped BECAUSE OF THEM TAKING SO LONG, they expected me to pay for it.
I told them no, I didn't want express shipping or the extra insurance, and I'm not paying for shipping at all. However, they refused to send the watch unless I paid for shipping, and I couldn't come home to get it, so I agreed to pay another $12 for regular shipping. They then promised me it would be ready by the 21st, and guess what?
It is now February 2nd (over a month since I brought the watch to them), and it is only NOW finally coming. Do not, absolutely do not, come to this store for anything. They lie with a cheap estimate than jack up the price for a whole slew of bullshit reasons. They not only took over a month longer than promised, they made me pay almost $100 more than what they estimated to me. Do not go to Garrick Jewelers.
