Services
We have been serving the Manassas area since Wilton Ashby first opened the doors in 1946. Jewelry is our passion, and matching the perfect piece for one of our neighbors brings us happiness and great satisfaction. Stop in and say, "hi", you won't be disappointed in what you find. Unlike most of the chain stores, we know how to design and fabricate jewelry.
Whether for a loved one or for yourself, give the gift of a unique wearable work of art. We can make your idea come to life or work with you to design the perfect piece from scratch. Our designer Susan has devoted her life to creating beautiful jewelry. She can take your idea from a rough sketch on paper to a realistic computer rendering, and all the way through to completion.

Fairly stuffy and not a ton of selection - I wasn't sure what to expect based on their website, but it seems like their custom pieces are the heart of the business and they are beautiful. I was underwhelmed by the experience in this store as the only customer. I was also told that a diamond engagement ring will only increase in value while a lad diamond or moissanite will decrease.
While I'm not sure how true this is (I've heard buying an engagement ring is like buying a car and loses value when you drive it off the lot), I wouldn't plan on selling this and that seemed like an odd thing to say, but perhaps it is a sales technique? While I did indicate interest in a few pieces, there were no offers to look closer/try on - which is fine, but a very different experience than I have had elsewhere.
The cherry on top is that it was at least 75-80 degrees+ in the store (10 degrees hotter than outside) and we waited while a staff member wrote a few notes down about the stones in stock--within those 5 minutes we were visibly heated and sweaty--waiting anxiously and wanting to leave. Not the best experience, an odd conversational exchange, and I would say that the selection is more geared to an older audience. I didn't feel welcomed/appreciated here.

My husband and I first visited Ashby Jewelers in 2014 while looking for an engagement ring. We found the one we wanted and David worked tirelessly with us to find the perfect diamond and design the most beautiful ring. When we were ready to add a wedding band, he and his staff custom designed one for us - and it's absolutely perfect! They check and clean my ring when I stop in and recently fixed a minor issue (not their fault) at no charge.
They even sent me home with a container of cleaner specifically for fine jewelry. Ashby Jewelers has been in business for many years and is the ideal small business fine jeweler. We can't recommend them highly enough!

I went to Ashby for my girlfriend's engagement ring after a recommendation from a co-worker and would highly recommend looking no further! David and Susan were incredibly kind and responsive throughout the entire process. It was important to me to custom design and ring and David picked out a handful of diamonds in my price range and spent 30 minutes going through them with me, highlighting the various differences and I ended up with a perfect center stone! Susan did the ring design custom and I ended up with it looking exactly like how I had imagined! They're very honest and kind and truly interested in what you want and spending the time to make it for you!

David and Susan did a fabulous job working with my fiance' to customize a wedding band to fit a unique antique engagement ring. He had something in mind and so Susan worked with him over several months to customize something that would tailor fit the existing ring and maintain the vintage look. It is beautiful and I am thrilled. They were clear up front with cost and with time expectations. And, they are just sweet and wonderful to work with. Custom work is an art, I wouldn't use just anyone for this.

I had an issue with this shop several (5) years ago. I was in the process of buying an engagement ring. I wasn't buying the ring from Ashby, but I wanted them to set the diamond from my grandmother's engagement ring into the setting I purchased from a diamond wholesaler. I was dissatisfied with the customer service I received, as they refused to help with the process.
They were actually pretty rude about it. I rated them 1 star at the time. I went back a month or so ago to get some jewelry tested. Not exactly thrilled with the place or the people, but my experience warrants a change to my original review. Now 3 stars. I will not go back here.

My fiance and I had family diamonds that we wanted to have re-set into one ring. David gave us great information when we first stopped by and Susan showed us three different designs based on the diamonds we gave them. I asked if she'd tweak a design and she had it back within a day. David originally said it would take 4-6 weeks to get the ring back after I OK'd the design, maybe more with the holidays, but we got it back in 3 weeks. I'm in love with it! David and Susan listened to exactly what I wanted and I have the perfect ring. I highly recommend Ashby Jewelers.

Went in to get an emerald and diamond engagement ring repaired because a piece of the setting holding one of the diamonds snapped. Owner gave me a bunch of reasons (like emerald was chipped) why he could only put it in a new $2,000 setting. The ring was custom made 40 years ago in rose gold and matches our wedding bans so I definitely wasn't interested in a $2,000 "repair." Couple of months later I tried Neda Jewelers on Mathis, Manassas. Been around since 1980.
They repaired the ring perfectly in a few days and it is invisible. Cost less than $125. Go to Ashby if you need a fancy shop to gouge you so you can brag about the big price you paid. I prefer a shop I can trust., especially when I'm at their mercy on the real value of things like gems or jewelry.

I recently ordered a ring form another jeweler online, which ended up being incorrectly sized. Instead of sending it back and paying extra postage, and to ensure that I had the correct sizing, I brought it to Ashby's. They were extremely friendly and courteous. The ring, silver, was sized up.75 in size, and was ready in six days, and it only cost $37.00. I will absolutely use them again.

I had to find a local jeweler after moving to Manassas from Alexandria. My husband needed to get his wedding ring polished and Ashby's was able to do it significantly lower than the jewelers in Alexandria (everything is more expensive the closer you get to DC!). This week, I took my diamond wedding band to get polished and not only did they provide prompt service, but it was also very inexpensive ($10 vs $60 at other jewelers).
I also bought a watch while I was talking to the sales person and they offer battery replacement for free for the life of the watch.you can't get a better deal than that! The jewelry they sell looks to be of high quality (I am not sure how much they sell pieces for) and they also do custom work.
