I went to Joyce and Gendreau to purchase an engagement ring and I am extremely happy that I chose this place. Frank did a wonderful working with my budget and my fiance couldn't be happier with the ring. He truly did an incredible job, and I am very appreciative of his work. I will certainly go back there for all my other jewelry purchases in the future. Would highly recommend

Joyce is a family run and family owned business. They are so friendly and accommodating. They listen to what you are looking for and stay right within your budget. Their prices are very fair, and the quality and craftsmanship is outstanding. We have purchased multiple rings, necklaces, earrings, our engagement ring and our wedding bands all from them.
I would never think of going to another jeweler. Also, because their case space is limited, just because you don't see it, doesn't mean they can't make it! They have designed and made multiple pieces for us just by going off of the ideas/pictures I have shown them!

Due to the Covid shutdown, when stores could open again I decided to support local business and brought them a ring for repair. I had authorized up to $200 for the repair so that it could be done without the need to stop and wait for an estimate approval. The ring was repaired for the exact authorized amount, and off i went. I had to return 2 weeks later as the repair didn't hold, and the same issue reoccured.
A week later I got the re-repaired ring. Within 3 weeks the exact same failure happened again, (the Onyx fell out of the ring). My comfort level had now diminished, and since it came out twice with no success, I decided on visiting another jeweler for the repair. After picking up the repaired ring from Long's, I returned to let them know: 1. The repair had failed for a second time, and 2.
The Long's repair price was $50, not their $200. I explained my loss of trust after the second failure, which was shrugged off. When I mentioned the price difference, I was told that he had to rebuild the entire support structure/bezel. If that was the case, the second repair should have corrected any issues, and the repair should have been final, but that wasn't the case. It's an old ring, with old time craftsmanship.
If one doesn't have the knowledge or expertise to do the job properly, twice, i would recommend admitting defeat instead of sending a customer off with a prayer that it works.

Great jeweler, was able to repair a bracelet I've brought to several jewelers who looked at me like I was handing them a safe to crack! And, he repaired it in record time. Although he said it would be about a week, there was a two-day turn-a-round. I love this bracelet and am happy to have found a jeweler who was able to repair it for me.

I had a very delicate piece that someone brought to them to fix a small missing piece from a nacelle I had for a few years. I hardly ever wore it as I am not that into jewelry but LOVE this necklace. They said they could not do anything to it at first and then said they could. They charged me for a repair and when I got it back, it was more broken than it was to begin with.
I called to ask what happened and he told me that it was like that. IT WAS NOT BROKEN IN MULTIPLE PLACES AND HANGING ON BY A THRED when it was dropped off to them but this is the condition it was returned to me (after being charged too!) They completely destroyed my necklace and I'm heartbroken!

I have purchased jewelry over the last 15 years at this 5-generation family owned business. The service is great - very helpful. They are not pushy. I recently purchased a charm bracelet for a friend, and one of the jewelers offered me "retired" charms because they were cheaper. He took a lot of time with me. I asked for his opinion on color and symmetry, and he offered good advice. I highly recommend this jeweler.

This family owned business has been my go-to jewelry store for more than ten years. I agree with another reviewer: why go into Boston or high end pricey retail stores like Long's when you can go to Joyce and Gendreau for excellent service, repair, unique design, and people who care about their customers. This business is one of the hidden gems in Greater Boston and the South Shore.

Why go into boston, any expensive jewelry store, when you can go into Joyce Jewelers! This local family owned store has beautiful jewelry, and they fix any/everything! I've been going for years, they are the absolute nicest people around. Friendly, informative, cheaper than most, quick, etc. I cant say enough that the customer service makes you feel like a local friend of theirs. I've recommended this place to many, as i was recommended to, and boy i'm glad i went there. It's been many years, and will be many more years i shop/get things fixed there!
