My name is Jim Hunt. I am a custom wedding ring designer and goldsmith. My studio is conveniently located in historic downtown Stillwater, Minnesota, not far from the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul. I also design and make engagement rings and provide quality, reasonably priced, conflict free diamonds. You are about to start your life long journey together. Having your engagement and wedding rings custom made by a wedding ring designer allows you to add meaning far beyond the mass-made kind you find in jewelry stores. I will craft custom wedding rings for you. They will be handmade to your specifications. And, surprisingly, my prices are comparable to store prices.
The way the stores do it is that they buy a bunch of diamonds, mark the price way up to cover their inventory, their high rent, their advertising, pay their employees and make a profit. Then they try to sell you one. What I do is different from the stores. I do not have a drawer full of stones or hundreds of "unique" settings.
No two people are alike, and no two symbols of lifelong commitment should be alike either. I will custom-make your ring as a truly one-of-a-kind token of your love for one another. Please keep in mind that all of the pictured rings are custom designed-they are one of a kind. They are meant to show you what is possible-not as a selection to be chosen from.
My main focus is wedding rings, but I bring the same craftsmanship and appreciation of quality to everything that I make. I offer rings of all kinds: Pendants. Pins. Earrings. Bracelets. You name it. I have sources for all kinds of stones. Diamonds. Emeralds. Sapphires. Rubies. Anything you want. I can even get stones specially cut for you.

What an absolute pleasure it was working with Jim in having my custom engagement ring made. He started me with a consultation so he could provide me with information about diamonds (cut, clarity, etc.) and have an idea of what I was looking for. After a week or two, he had a number of diamonds for me to choose from that met my specifications from the previous meeting.
He then proceeded to make the ring with the diamond I selected and a picture I provided him of the style I wanted. The ring exceeded all expectations for beauty, quality, and price. There is something extra special knowing you had a custom ring made to by a local craftsman who has been in the game for decades.

I looked everywhere to find someone who could make a custom engagement ring using a family stone that was given to me. James Hunt sat down with us and helped us find exactly what we had been looking for. The engagement ring and wedding bands he made us are one-of-a-kind. Our finger prints are literally molded into the bands, and we couldn't be happier with how they look.

James Hunt remade our wedding rings for us and they are just perfect. We originally had very simple store bought rings and always wanted something more special. When we met Jim, he reworked the rings for us to represent who we are as a couple. We are very interested in aviation and he reworked our rings to show case our love of airplanes. He can create just about anything and have it be amazing! I highly recommend him for your engagement and wedding rings or for a special piece.
