Family Simmons Jewelers was founded in 1953 by the highly-trained watchmaker and jeweler, Robert Ingram Simmons. After graduating from Southern Watchmaking School in Ensley, Alabama, Bob Simmons Sr. apprenticed in Birmingham before starting his own store. Debuting Simmons Jewelers along Winter Park's famed Park Avenue, he opened his store with just five gold wedding bands and 10 Speidel watch bands. Thanks in large part to Mr. Simmons Sr.'s honesty and integrity, Simmons Jewelers has grown far beyond its simple beginnings.

To begin, let's start with what a business needs to do to be successful. Good Service, Excellent pricing, great selection and strong management that runs the business to achieve high profit. Right? Well I thought those things were everything, turns out there is something else. "Integrity". yeah everyone knows what that means but. do we? Simmons Jewelers taught me the real refinement of being a 5 star business and it is something everyone else should be judged against.
I owned a Rolex GMT "Pepsi". a wonderful watch and as you can imagine, pricey. I have looking for a new one, we sometimes get bored and like to see options. in passing I mentioned this "Bobby Simmons" the owner and operator of Simmons Jewelry. His words literally shocked me, and have earned my respect and admiration since hearing his response. He said go on Google type the model # in and say Rolex for sale.
I swear on my favorite Beatles Album this is true. my watch that my wife bought me for my 50th birthday for 16k is worth we'll over 40k "used". I was in shock. Bobby said to me don't sell that watch to a jeweler without knowing that worth point. I had several over the last few weeks offer me 12k and 9k. I was in shock. I reached out online to "Watch Cash" and they bought my watch for well into the 40k range and I bought myself a new Daytona from Rolex direct.
Apparently the market is like used cars right now the unauthorized dealers cannot get Rolex's to sell. this makes them HOT. Back to Bobby Simmons. do you think he had to tell me this. he could said I'll give you 20k I would have thought he was a great guy for helping me and he could have laughed all the way to the bank. Instead - he acted with integrity and helped me as a good business owner should and he earned my business for LIFE.
I made enough money to buy a watch from Rolex that I really wanted and wasn't taken advantage of like other shops wanted to do to me. one such store is the Oviedo Marketplace Mall. true thieves. Spending big money needs to be done with Simmons Jewelers they have a team that understands what "Integrity is. PERIOD.

I had the batteries replaced in 3 digital watches at Simmons. 2 Timex and one Shark Classic. Everyone in the shop was really nice, very friendly, I enjoyed looking through all of the unusual "stuff" in their store. It took about half an hour to replace the three batteries, and the charge was $20.00 each. I paid the bill with cash, thanked the lady and left.
When I got back to my car, a couple of blocks away, and put on one of the watches, I noticed that it wasn't set to todays time and date. Neither were either of the other two watches. The last time I got a watch battery installed was 2 years ago in The Villages, Florida. The price was $8.00, and it took, less than 5 minutes, and was correctly set when it was given back to me. I'm kind of a gadgeteer, and have worn only digital watches since I saw my first one back in the 70s.
This is more than twice as much as it should have been. Should I have asked first? Probably. But I won't take my business there anymore. After I got home I called 5 other businesses than replace watch batteries. None charged more than $12.00, and all said that resetting the watch after installing a new battery was part of the service.

I stopped in to Simmons Jewelry yesterday about quarter till closing (5pm) and they were about to close up for the day. I had a David Yurman black diamond signet ring I had damage on and wanted to leave it with them to be fixed. The owner said, no problem give me a few minutes. Moments later he had fixed my ring, polished it, and said thanks for stopping in, you don't owe me anything.
I was stunned. That was very honorable & gracious. I was very appreciative of their generosity. Simmons has been a staple in the Winter Park community for nearly 70 yrs, I would highly recommended them!

Visiting from out of town and stopped in to check out the gemstones and wait out a crazy rain storm. All employees were SO nice. They provided info about things to do in the area, chatted with us, and had their adorable dogs there for us to interact with. Felt very welcome even though I did not make a purchase. I will be back to buy something from their beautiful collection!

I've had two great experiences with Simmons Jewelers. First I needed an extra link added to my Rolex, they were able to do it while I waited, and the price for service was very reasonable. Second experience, I dropped my Rolex and shattered the crystal, again the price for repair was great and the quality of work is so far exceptional. Great attention to detail and equally great customer service!

It's a store, and more. There's an amazing array of sparklies for sale and I haven't bought any! Yet, I've recently been there for three purposes at which they excelled. First, I went in to sell old jewelry that I'd never wear again and was likely to lose! A price was quoted. I didn't negotiate. Simply said, Yes. Painless. My husband was shocked how fine I felt about the whole experience.
Then I went in to have a worn-thin band fattened on a beloved, inherited ring I wear everyday. Its new bigger band was nicer than I'd imagined one could be. Again, a good price. This last time was for a tiny pave diamond that'd fallen out of the old ring. I can't even tell which one it is. Yes, Simmons will stay my go-to place of trust, friendliness, and competence.

OMG best jewelry store in all of Central Florida! I was gifted a Rolex watch from my late father when I graduated from FSU in 1988. Over the past 33 years it's needed reconditioning yearly (which I've often failed to do) and regular maintenance. Even though I often was late with that, the Simmons' family always kept my watch in pristine fashion. Amazingly enough, not only are they perfectionists, but very inexpensive.
As a matter of fact, they quoted me the price for my watch, but not the taxes. I arrived with the cash and was happy to add the tax on my debit card, but they refused to accept it! WHAT! Never, ever will I go elsewhere. Those who leave bogus, unflattering, terrible ratings have to live under a rock! SIMMONS JEWELRY is trustworthy, honorable, and 100% on point. THANKS Simmons family!

Very dishonest, bad service, and ripped me off. Don't sell jewelry to them or take jewelry to them for repairs. Thought I could trust this business; used them for about two decades. I do not recommend this place for anything. Use Crown Jeweler's for repairs or do your research, and get a few quotes if you are selling items. It is criminal what they did to me!
I did not report them and probably should have; my problems happened over three years ago with them, in two different situations selling a Rolex and getting a unique ring repaired. BEWARE! Late review!

It's not enough that this shop is located in one of the most beautiful areas anyplace, with a great park and pavilion across the street, but the talent of the watchmaker/ owner is unique. Yesterday I brought in two watches needing attention and was blown away when he managed both while we waited and perused his inventory of new and antique jewelry items.
The shop is 65 miles from our home in Melbourne and not having to return for pick up or having to ship both to a watch repair hub in Detroit (Universal) was amazing. Aside from the management of one Citizen dive watch requiring pressurization and a TAG the repairs were less than the shipping charges would have been. The added bonus was the owners (husband and wife), and staff were a pleasure to interact with.
The area has tons of cute bistros, major restaurants, and businesses. (P.F. Chang, Flemings, Ruth's Cris, Cheesecake Factory, French Pastry / espresso bar with gelato (etc. etc. ) The day trip was like an away vacation.

They are the most customer oriented business I have been to in a long time. I have taken multiple rings to them for sizing, appraisal, and to be polished. My most recent trip in was to have my engagement ring sized. I took a few attempts because they didn't want it to be too tight but ultimately he sized it PERFECTLY! They provided options and were very informative.
They only charged us once and both times i had it back the same day so I didn't have to go without wearing my beautiful new ring! Simply put THEY ARE THE BEST! I highly recommend them and really appreciated the service I received!

Awful. Took an expensive gold chain in to be repaired. The sales lady said the repair could be done and for a small price. Three weeks later I called to see what the status was and they told me that they "didn't have a repair order in my name". Nothing. My chain had essentially vaporized, no trace. They then said if I could tell them the date when I brought it in they might be able to find it.
I told them the date and they called me back having miraculously found it. They then told me that the specific repair I had asked for could not be done, but that they could essentially replace a part of it for 45 dollars. They asked if I wanted to do that and were surprised when I said no. No apologies, nothing. No order, no trace that I had ever brought it in. Absolutely unacceptable.

My Dear Husband had purchased jewelries here for me in the past & I just love each of them. I'd say every piece is really one of a kind. Although my recent experience with them was to have my wedding ring set re-sized. The rings were a little bit tight from the beginning. And I became pregnant that made the rings tighter. Although the rings could fit in my ring fingers 3 months after I gave birth, they were not very comfortable.
Initially was told rings would be available in about 7 days. But when we arrived home, we received a text that they would be available the following day. Bobby Simmons took care of them. He also cleaned the gold & polished the diamond. I was really happy when I had them, they look new again. Also Robin, assisted me in checking some pieces they have. I highly recommend Simmons Jewelers!

I had been going to Simmons for several years with no issues. Then they did a sloppy repair job replacing a small diamond that fell out of a ring -- they soldered a new one back in but the prongs were humongous on one side. It was very obvious and changed the appearance of the ring in an embarrassing way. I was trying to politely ask the manager on duty about it, to find a way to resolve the situation, and she lost her temper and raised her voice and went off on me like a crazy woman.
Then after yelling at me she left me standing there stunned, and went into the back, while customers were staring in disbelief at what they had just seen. A very nice clerk witnessed the whole thing and attempted to apologize but at that point I decided to just cut my losses and leave. I highly discourage anyone from doing business with a jeweler that hires a manager who yells at customers.

After 64 years in business you can clearly tell what has kept their customers coming back! They do everything from watch repairs to buying off the street! They had a jeweler that was not only knowledgeable but was also able to fix my piece the same day! I could not be more happy with my experience at Simmons Jewelers!

They are wonderful. I have used a family jeweler for many years and needed a new one when I moved to WP. I have had watch batteries changed and some other small work done. They are courteous and bend over backwards to help. I had an expensive watch that needed a battery and while they were replacing it the bezel broke. He is replacing it, not charging me and was apologizing for the breakage. WOW! Is all I can say. Customer service at it's best. :-

Needed my Girlfriends Xmas present an engagement ring resized in time for Xmas. I did not get the ring here but they still treated me very nicely & for a very small reasonable fee resized the ring in less then 24hours allowing me to have the ring on-time for the intended proposal. These guys are great!

I just don't understand how these people are in business with this staff and have no experience with people. I had spoken to the manager looking for a diamond for my son who lives in Florida. The manager said that she'll take care of it but that she was going on vacation but when she's coming back she'll get right on it. So I understand no problem I waited.
So I called a few days after her return date she said she'll be back and they said that she RETIRED are you kidding me. I've been waiting on these people this whole time and this is what I hear. Please take your business somewhere else. Don't waste your time. Unprofessional and disrespectful people here. Their name should be Bull Sh*t Jewelers instead.

I went in to Simmons Jewelers to get my leather watch band replaced a few weeks ago. Robin stated that she didn't have the band in stock therefore she had to order one for me. It took about a week to get it in. I then went in to the store last week to drop off my watch to get the band replaced. I didn't realize they were going to replace it while I waited (it only took a few minutes to replace).
That is great customer service! Robert was even able to keep my existing watch buckle as it was silver since the band came with a gold buckle. I would highly recommend Simmons Jewelers for any watch band replacements and repairs. The owners are very easygoing and have been in Winter Park-Park Ave. for several years.

I had a piece of jewelery that I was interested in selling and Simmons Jewelers in Winter Park advertises on their website that they purchase estate jewelery. So, I gave them a call, described my item, and asked how the process works. I was told that they would be interested in seeing the piece as I described it and that I did not need an appointment, just stop by during business hours and they would be glad to work with me.
The next day I called for directions.wow, the directions that they gave me from I4 were ridiculous. They had me drive all over Winter Park, when I could have taken a very direct route. I even called back and spoke to another person who stated that she didn't know why I would have been told to go that way and gave me different directions.which were about equally useless.
How can they not know where they are located in Winter Park? I finally arrived and the young sales person behind the counter ask to help me. I explained that I was bringing in a piece that I was interested in selling. She took one look and said, we wouldn't buy this, you would have to place it on consignment with us. When I explained that I had already spoken to another employee, who asked me to bring it in to have the jeweler look at it, she stated.
I am looking at it! I asked about the jeweler's evaluation. I was told that the jeweler is not there every day and I would just have to leave the piece for him to look at it when he comes in later in the week (this is not what I was told over the phone the day before). I was told that for any more expensive piece, they don't buy it outright, but instead will only place it on consignment for a 35 percent commission on the sale (not what I was told on the phone the day before).
When I tried to talk to her about the differences in how she was describing the sales process from how it had been described on the phone, she actually snorted at me and grabbed the item and took it back for someone else to look at. I waited a while and then another woman came out from the glass house behind the counter and said that the most that they could offer me was $200 for the gold value.are you kidding me.my appraisal on the piece is around 10K.
She said well.without the jeweler here to evaluate the stones, that is the best that they could do. She was actually quite rude about it. Now, I had been out running errands and was not dressed in my best.but I didn't look like a crack addict either.so the uppity way that they were treating me was ridiculous. Needless to say, I took my jewelery and left.
I was later told by another jeweler that the gold value in the piece alone was about $1600.and Simmons was acting like they were doing me a favor if they chopped up the piece and gave me $200. I understand wholesale vs retail.but their valuation was ridiculous. Their customer service was horrible. I later sold the piece to another jeweler, without chopping it up.for much closer to the real value of the entire piece. Summation: Extremely Poor Customer Service, Extremely Questionable Business Practices = Avoid this Establishment
