Gem source was able to repair and resize my wedding set on site in less than 48 hours. The bands were misshapen from years of wear and the stone was becoming loose on my engagement ring. When I picked my rings up they looked brand new. Great, friendly and fast service!

I wish I had known about the services offered at Gem years ago. I had been taking my diamond jewelry twice a year to the store where originally purchased for inspection and repairs. When prongs needed to be re-tipped I had to leave my ring for weeks to be "sent out" somewhere. My ring came back with crooked prongs and never looked quite right. Last fall I finally googled to find a local jeweler. Gem Source showed up with excellent reviews for repair, restoration, and creating new unique pieces of jewelry. Jim Salyer is the jeweler and owner, along with his wife Gerry. Jim restored my diamond marquis to the way it looked in 1979 in the store window. Beautiful. Gem is not like a chain store with a large inventory of look alike pieces. Jim Salyer and his wife Gerry are owners of this long established business.

On one of my visits I discovered a tray of gem stones. I was drawn to an opal that reminded me of a special ring I had that was stolen. Jim told me he could recreate that ring for me. He found two beautiful opals from Australia. Jim took my sketch and created several designs for me to consider. He emailed videos to me and patiently made changes. The ring I received took my breath away.

Jim took two old pieces of jewelry and made them spectacular! He added stunning emeralds to my old anniversary band and took a childhood ring and added gorgeous citrine. The workmanship is outstanding. This is the place to come for beautiful pieces of jewelry, outstanding workmanship and great value!

I have been a customer of Gem Source for 15years. The owner, Jim, made my wife's engagement ring and wedding band. He did a remarkable job. I found great value in the diamond. Jim took the time to educate me. He was never pushy. A true gentleman. Over the years I have found Jim to be a truly trustworthy individual, which is exactly what I want in my jeweler.

The store is small but adequate, the service excellent, and the workmanship exceptional. I was disappointed to see that "Gina" had a less than favorable experience with Gem Source. I did NOT even want to give this business one star! I went in for a second opinion on a prong on my ring. I decided to let them replace the mounting. They charged me an astronomical amount of money! When my ring came back it was horribly disfigured. The mounting was crooked. The prongs had cuts down the middle and they were hatched jobs. Crooked! The gold on the mounting was lapping over onto the bottom of the ring and the corners.

As I said earlier it was plain to see that the stone was set totally crooked in the mounting. When my husband and I went back we could not have been treated with more disrespect. The owner said well this is acceptable work! I said NO it isn't. Acceptable it is not. And it should be perfect! He then told us he needed to get on with his day! He also said he would do it over but I would never trust this person again.

He totally ruined my ring and was untrustworthy. This is my opinion of this place. My ring is now beautiful again because I took it to a talented trustworthy jeweler. Thank God for good people. There are some in this world.
