I was a customer since 1977, and want to make it clear that this review is not associated with the Lynn legacy. When I first went to Lynn's it was located in mid town Ventura on Old Main Street. It was really close to my home so my children and I rode our bikes. Bob and Kitty Lynn always had a German Shepard in their store and we all liked petting their dog (s).
I loved that about their store, it was warm and welcoming. There were many employees at that time, and the store was very busy. You could see jewelers behind the glass repairing or designing jewelry and it was very interesting to watch them as they worked. John as long as I can remember was one of the employees behind that glass designing or repairing jewelry.
Although Bob is not there anymore, if you have any special jewelry needs, John will take good care of you. My relationship with Lynn's came to a sad abrupt ending during this pandemic recently over some repairs: my turquoise and coral ring needed to be sized up and one of my bracelets needed shortened. I wasn't able to come in to pick up when they were ready, I was ill, so I sent my son.
When they arrived home to me I tried everything on and quickly called to reiterate that the bracelet was not shortened as we had discussed. It was still too long. During the call I explained that I was very happy with my turquoise and coral ring but sadly later I found out my message was relayed to John as a complaint. I eventually brought my bracelet back to the store, I arrived three minutes before closing but John said to come on in even though I said I would come back tomorrow.
We finished up in minutes and as I arrived home I noticed that John was charging me a second time for the same job. So I emailed and also emailed him my receipt that I had already paid for the job, but the email was perceived as a complaint. My bracelet finally was shortened correctly and I was not unhappy with the service but unhappy with the customer service I received.
The overall outcome. John decided he did not want to do anymore of my jewelry repairs. I felt sad about that so I waited for a month or two to go by and then called to speak to John and told him I felt badly because Lynn's has been my touchstone jewelry store ever since I moved to Ventura but John still was adamant and continued to take the same stance with me.
I will forever be grateful to the two adventurous individuals, Bob and Kitty Lynn, who traveled about the world buying gems and diamonds, for the many stories they told of their travels, for it is they who are responsible for the Lynn Jewelry Store legacy.

My grandma went to Lynn's when Bob was alive, my mom started using them too. I used them for a custom engagement ring which they designed in front of me. I still use them. Walked in during a lunch break and they treated me like I was their best client. (I was wearing dirty street cloths and probably looked like a punk kid) While I was getting something done, a few others walked in.
One needed help just opening a clasp the other needed his chain tightened. They were in and out! This place can do anything. It's cool to see the custom pieces. The prices aren't crazy either. BTW, I catch my wife looking at her ring all the time. She reminds me about how it sparkles and looks perfect. It's worth it to check this place out for yourself.

I had a small amount of my parents cremation ashes made into colored crystals. These crystals can be turned in many items including jewelery. We had a ring made and 2 bracelets. I took two specially made crystals ( 5 round gems and a solid bar) to John to make me 2 very personalized and special bracelets. I brought my vison to him for both bracelets and he enhanced them into 2 super bracelets.
They turned out absolutely beautiful which I can wear and feel like my parents are still with me. It's a comforting feeling. I recommend John and his superb skills to turn any of your special jewelery into something even more special. Give him a try- you wont be disappointed.

This review has nothing to do with the business, but the jeweler who works here. I was sitting in my car in the parking lot, waiting for my husband to finish his physical therapy. The jeweler parked his car next to mine. Like I said I was minding my own business, when he came out blaming me for scratching his car door. He was extremely rude to me.
There was so much space in between our cars, that I couldn't even have hit it if I tried. I checked my car door there is no sign of me hitting him. For him to come out blaming me and accusing me of something I didn't do was very rude and unprofessional. I hope this isn't how he treats his actual customers. To summarize, the jeweler is rude, horrible and the parking lot sucks.

I just picked up my refurbished wedding ring. Oh how gorgeous. I had my wedding ring redone for my 50th wedding anniversary and It is even better than I expected. John was a great help as I made choices of stones and design. He was also very patient. The ring was done promptly. Thank you so much John. You "hit it out of the park". Lynne's studio always makes my jewels into beautiful settings

Bob Lynn does exquisite work, I described what I wanted and Bob envisioned it. He does his magic and WOW, I got exactly what I wanted. His work is beautiful and the craftsmanship is of the highest quality. He also made my ring so I can get it off by opening it up! It is for people who have arthritic fingers, I am ecstatic with it. All of the people that work at Lynn's Jewelry Studio are so very friendly and helpful, I highly recommend them.

Called about getting a prong fixed on a ring. Woman on the phone said it would be $30 for the tip, $36 for half the prong, $50 for the entire thing on a 14k good ring. Rushed in because it's a bday present and they want to replace all the prongs (for no reason other than greed) and it's now going to cost $139. Wtf? No thank you!

I initially went in to sell some gold jewelry I no longer was wearing. (Lynn's is the fairest place in Ventura and pays the highest price because I've compared). Then I started talking to Mr. Lynn about designing something special with an old diamond of my grandma's. He really understood what I wanted to accomplish, and my vision (even though I wasn't sure what that vision was when I sat down!) The staff is friendly and helpful, no high pressure. They let you look around! The studio, Mid-Century Modern in flavor, is very attractive. Not the typical jewelry store. And SO many beautiful pieces of jewelry!

Great place with amazing service. I've made several purchases at Lynn's Jewelry and have found them to be honest and have good prices. Yes, there is a Lynn and I have met him, he's a great guy who won't lead you astray and if its something you don't need (In my case this happened) he'll tell you rather then just sale you something. The hours of operation are kind of funky so you may want to call ahead.
