Have been a regular customer here for years, buying watches, jewelry, high-end items for years and Adam was always our go-to sales guy because of his knowledge, customer support and always having been treated fairly and with confidence that we had made a wise purchase. Went in last week and found that: 1) Adam had left the company for whatever reason: Strike # 1! 2) They no longer carry Rolex: Strike # 2 (seriously, you dumped Rolex!?!?) because as I was told by a staff member Grebitus didn't want to pay Rolex merchandising requirements!) And finally, they just don't seem to have an interesting inventory anymore whereas before we could always find something interesting and unique as opposed to a bunch of fancy glass crap items etc you find at other supposedly unique shops. Grebitus is now mundane and we find no real reason to go back, especially with the poor parking lot arrangement which I have put up with over the years, but no longer will, as there is no compelling reason to return. Really sad that Grebitus would let their reputation sink to this level on what old man Grebitus took generations to build-upon.

This is for dishonesty and greed. I have a pretty rare watch made by Tiffany and it has a Baume and Mercier mechanical automatic movement in it. It was having issues keeping time, and since it's an automatic movement, there's no easy fix for it - it's not just a battery, so I decided to go to the one place I know has been reputable in the past.
Since they are a Baume dealer, I took it to them for service and didn't hesitate. They looked at it briefly and said "no problem, we can fix it" and told me it would be a couple weeks. They have qualified watch technicians on hand, and I know because I had them install links in my Rolex previously, and repaired my Omega Seamaster years ago. I wasn't worried.
I took my Tiffany Grand Automatic in for service, they said 2 weeks, and they call me back when it's done. Great, I go and pay for it - over $430 for the service. And yet on the receipt and work order it says "Lukin's Svc - $270" and so what they did is sent it down the street a few miles to a watch specialty shop, paid the $270 to Lukin's Watch Repair (who truly is a 5 star watch service shop!) and then added $150 of PURE MARKUP to my bill for the troubles.
Maybe next time if you decide you are going to outsource it - just send your customer to the source - and don't get greedy by marking up someone else's service. And stupidly, put it directly on the work order. That's just incompetence. I've made several referrals to this place, but never again. Not after that.

If you have forgotten what true customer service is, visit Grebitus Jewelers. Ted Grebitus is genuine and one-of-kind. I had a stroke in March; my brain is still recovering, and often times, I don't understand basic things. I had my Rolex repaired and after I received it, I insisted that it wasn't keeping time - twice. Ted sat down with me and explained the reason why my watch was not keeping time.
I called a 3rd time, again, stating it wasn't keeping time. Ted kindly insisted that I come back in and work directly with him, "no one else." He knew my watch working, yet he was willing to sit with me once again to discuss. My watch is fine! My left arm is somewhat paralyzed, and of course, it's not going to keep time - I just didn't get it. The kindness and sincerity he has shown me is quite touching and extremely rare. Ted has restored my faith in humanity and he has a customer for life!.

I have patronized Grebitus for many years. I have consistently received quality service and fair pricing. After all these years, my son was getting married and needed an engagement ring. I suggested to go to Grebitus even though we were out of town. I emailed the last salesperson I worked with on an appraisal and asked for appt and gave him an idea of what my son was looking for.
I guess after he found out what we wanted and the budget that maybe this was not going to be worth his while, he never contacted me again. My son had to go somewhere else and bought a 2.55 ct engagement ring high quality in color and clarity. We wanted to give Grebitus the business and had trusted them for quality merchandise and service but I guess we were not worth the trouble. Very disappointed as I think their reputation has become tainted.

This is the place to go for quality purchases and professionalism. Throughout the years, I have purchased rings, pearls, watches (two Rolex) and many items from their fine homeware/gift section. I recently had some difficulty getting my platinum wedding ring resized, but Grebitus staff (Loree) worked with me to ensure that I was 100% satisfied. I have complete confidence in leaving my valuable jewelry in their care and all purchases. Truly, Sacramento's finest jewelry store and the best value for what you are receiving.

The best jewelers in town hands down! I have taken numerous rings to Grebitus to be replayed from yellow gold to white gold and they look AMAZING! They do an incredible job and very affordable repairs and plating. I took my engagement ring to be clean and re plated since I'm getting married on Saturday and I want it to match my diamond band to perfection, not only did they do it while I waited but they totally waived the fee! Incredible! Grebitus is the very best jewelry store in Sacramento!. Love you guys!

Wow. Just wow. Old man Grebitus would not be impressed at what this store has become. I brought a vintage Rolex in to be worked on. Got a message a couple weeks later saying that it would need to be sent off and the price quote. I called back later that day and gave the verbal go ahead. Waited a month and never heard anything. Finally called to see if it was ready and whoever answered the phone when I gave the go-ahead never bothered to relay the message.
So the watch had been sitting. Finally get the watch back. Looks great! But it still stops running after a couple days. Brought it back in to get it fixed. They told me 4-6 weeks. I realized today I hadn't heard anything from them and it's been well over six weeks. I called and they couldn't find my paperwork. They finally found the paperwork.
It was in the 'finished' pile. No one ever contacted me to say it was ready. Shocking how bad the customer service and their organization has become. Don't use them. They are no longer a crown jewel of Sacramento. Sad.

My parents in their 80s brought my dad's Hamilton self-winding watch to you mistakenly thinking it was broken. (my dad had a stroke a few years ago and has some difficulty with communication and understanding certain things). You told them it would cost $400 to fix it. Approximately what I paid for the watch as a retirement gift years ago. Luckily my mother is too smart for that trick and went to another reputable jeweler in the area who showed her that there was nothing wrong with the watch. AT ALL. Needed the time adjusted and wound. Is this how you treat your elderly customers? Dishonest cheats. I'm furious.

My boyfriend and I came in to get my promise ring cleaned and look for an engagement ring. When we got there a man greeted us and then took my promise ring to the back and as he was leaving he tried to whisper to his associate to "keep an eye on us" (but he didn't do it so quietly) Was very disappointed to be targeted like that. We obviously won't be back.

I wanted to get my husband a wedding gift, and what better gift than a classic and timeless watch, a ROLEX! Initially, my husband and I were going to get secondhand Rolexes since they are cheaper at other local jewelry shops & came here to inquire about their prices but we found out that Grebitus & Sons is an OFFICIAL Rolex retailer- whereas the other shops here in Sacramento are not.
They are also the oldest Rolex account in the nation! After learning this fact, we knew we couldn't go anywhere else. Peter walked us over to the Rolex area and showed us every watch that caught my husband's eye. He was very patient with us and let my husband try on everything! After some time, my husband narrowed it down to 3 watches: the two tone GMT, two tone date just and the two tone sub. Peter educated us on the different styles and with that, my husband ended up getting the two tone sub.
Not only did Peter educate us on Rolexes, he also gave us wise and powerful advice for a happy marriage. Two months later and we couldn't be happier with our purchase. It is a beautiful and versatile watch and my husband wears it almost everyday! He wore it on the day of our wedding and he looked even more handsome and classy because of this gorgeous watch! Thank you so much Grebitus & Sons, especially Peter for your awesome customer service-- We are customers for LIFE!

I will never go here for jewelry appraisals and I would advise others to avoid them at all cost. Several years ago I had the need to have my ex wife's engagement ring officially appraised for insurance. Just for full disclosure, I was taught by my uncle (a very successful jeweler in the Bay and my father's business neighbor - a very successful local jeweler) how to pick and grade stones and settings to build a beautiful and valuable ring.
With this I went to the Los Angeles wholesale mart and after a full two days settled in an extremely high quality stone with a beautiful secure setting. When I went in to Grebitus, I explained why I was there and gave an honest accounting of where the ring came from and what I had paid at wholesale price as I felt that completely honesty was the best policy.
What happened was that I was slammed with attempts to sell me "something nicer and more valuable that she would like better from them" for almost an hour until the official appraiser (who was sitting in an office the whole time doing little to nothing but watching the floor through the glass) finally met with me. I repeated my tale and was told it would be over $150 to do the appraisal and that they would need several weeks. Needing the official certificate, I reluctantly agreed.
When I received the call several weeks later to come get my property, I was dumbfounded at the horrific and degrading appraisal that was done. The description alone was not even close to what the actual item was and looked like it had been done by a poor student. The valuation was a fraction of the retail value. Oh and to boot, they xo rubies to hammer me to "buy something of better quality" from their shop.
I have a real problem with this kind of business practice and strive to expose it whenever possible. I am looking to get some very valuable pieces appraised right now and wanted to repost this review as a warning to people to patronize Grebitus at your own risk. Funny enough I called a very reputable dealer in the area and when I related the experience the fellow laughed and said he was not either shocked or surprised at my experience.

Ok, I feel bad. I was given a Rolex watch and it was too large for my wrist. Went to get it sized: the cost? Zero. Nothing. Nada. I offered a tip for the man who sized and set my watch, it was politely declined. Service second to none, with no sales pressure and professionalism. These guys are the real deal. No doubt. No joke.

I've been here twice now and I LOVE their customer service. more so the second time! First time was to take links off my Rolex. The gentlemen spoke a bit fast while he was showing me how to adjust my watch. I went home to YouTube how to adjust because I realized after leaving the store the date was off by a day. I did like the fact that he advised me to check w/ the retailer my watch came from to see when it was fully serviced since Rolex watches should be serviced about every 7 years.
Second time was to add a link because the first time the gentleman said the watch is supposed to be worn snug but imprints on my wrist is a bit too snug for my liking. I just trusted his judgement since I did let him know it was my first Rolex. The lady who helped me today was super nice, very informative, & showed me different watches they had while I was waiting for mine to be adjusted and also my ring to be cleaned. This is the place to get any type of work done. I will definitely be back to service my watch when the time comes!

I guess I should wait to fully review a place until the last transaction has been completed. For the full "story", see my previous review of Grebitus. I was very happy with their service. Until I went to get my appraisals for my set of rings and they weren't ready. Ok. Deep breath. They agreed to send the appraisal to my house. Perfect. I paid them $260 for one ring resizing and the appraisal of the two rings.
I wait. The appraisals arrive in the mail about a week later. But wait. There's only one appraisal in the envelope. It's for the ring they resized. There's no appraisal for the second ring (which they didn't work on). I call and explain my confusion. They apologize and say I can bring the second ring back in for a separate appraisal. Ok.
More driving - more back and forth. But I do it. After a few days, I get the call saying my second ring is appraised and ready for pick up. Ok. I go to get it - the ring is there but they can't find the appraisal paperwork now. They say they'll mail it to me. Deep breaths again. Ok. But now they are charging me an additional $40 for this appraisal. Wait.
I already paid $260 for one ring to be resized and what I thought was the appraisal on BOTH rings. So for $300 total, I have two appraisals and a resized ring. That's absurd. Highway robbery. Terrible organization. Nothing is where it's supposed to be or ready when it's supposed to be. Very disappointed.

I bought my husband a Rolex watch two months ago and to our dismay his watch was a minute slow per day. We googled a Rolex authorized dealer in Folsom and located Grebitus Jewelers in Folsom. We brought our watch and asked for help. The very first time we entered this jewelry store, we were greeted with courtesy and professionalism. The staffs are eager to help us even though we did not buy our watch there. Particularly, a lady named Christa took her time to explain the Rolex warranty in detail and how they can help us with the repair under the warranty.
Month passed, Christa called us a couple times to brief us the status of the watch and repair. Today we get our watch back and we are delighted to learn that there is no cost under the warranty. My husband also have a chance to meet with the store owner Ted today. Ted is a great gentleman. He takes great care of us way beyond the customer expectation.
Guess who we will buy our next Rolex with! We are not Ted's customer (yet). Also, we are not related to the store except for the great customer service we have experienced. Nor are we a frequent commentator but we are compelled to express our appreciation to Ted and Christa for their superb customer service and courtesy. We have no reservation to refer our friends and family members to pay them a visit. Thank you Ted and Christa!
