The blonde lady thats been there for some time did a wonderful job, recognizing a loyal regular customer of Brownlee she even asked how my wife was doing and took care of all my needs pretty fast and professional. The Brownlee staff on Dave Lyle has always made me and my wife feel comfortable like we are family and right at home. Keep up the good work team!

I had a wait for the restaurant next door First Watch and I wandered into this jewelry store and found some nice things! I wanted something to compliment my Pandora bracelet and I found a nice one with a dangling heart charm AND it was on Sale! I had to get it. Then I looked around and saw some more things to put on my Wish-list! Ivan helped me pick out some pearls as well and they were on SALE! Ivan also helped with my Mother's diamond earrings as well, I thought I was going to have to replace the post, turns out they just needed cleaning and the posts shortened and that didn't cost much.
The Customer Service was awesome! Ms. Tiffani assisted me selecting some accent rings - they take layaway! YESSSS! I was eyeballing some silver hoop earrings as I was leaving. Yes it was an experience! I will be back, so far its been an every Friday thing!

Awesome experience Jessie Spicer, the salesperson, warmly greeted me at the door and made my 3 little inexpensive needs seem just as important as if I was buying a huge diamond ring. She chatted with me while she changed my watch battery and then filled out the slip for the other two items. Both were pearls that had fallen out but one was costume jewelry and she commented on how beautiful it was! Being relatively new to the area Jessie made me feel so at home. VERY reasonable prices too.

I had searched for a custom chain for a week and went by 4 separate jewelers getting prices and timelines. I came into Brownlee and Melanie beat all of their prices and timelines, it was the smoothest transaction I have had in a long. I looked around and they had the nicest jewelry out of all of the previous stores as well and their prices were also unbeatable.
If you're not shopping at Brownlee for jewelry first, you're wasting your time. Melanie was so nice and helpful. I'll be back in about a month to find something for the Mrs. next time, thank you Mel!

The staff here is extremely friendly and professional. They know their customers personally and make suggestions based on the customers preferences and style. I came in for a repair on a necklace that broke. They gave me a great price in my item was ready when they told me it would be. I would definitely do business with them again.

I have been doing business with Brownlee jewelers for 45 years or more. Over the years I have bought watches, bracelets, necklaces, earrings and pendants from them. Anytime I need jewelry repaired or my watch battery replaced then I take it to them. They have always been fair with me and get the job done right!

Took in sterling silverware and misc. gold jewelry to the Rock Hill store to sell. Melanie took her time looking at each piece. While doing so she talked me into keeping a silver ornament because it looked so nice polished. She also found my father's gold baby ring in the pile. An heirloom that shouldn't have been included. She asked if I was sure I wanted to sell it.
I'm so glad she did. Melanie has worked at Brownlee for over 20 years. She was able to answer several questions about other jewelry items in the store that I was interested in. Not once did she try to push me towards more expensive pieces. I did end up ordering a ring. When she noticed I lived in another town, she quickly suggested that it be sent to my local store for pick up.
Customer service was A+++, value placed on the sale of the silver and gold was good, store was clean, other employees were quick to welcome other guests as they enter. Highly recommend!

I visited Brownlee Jeweler's in the Rock Hill store a few weeks ago. I was greeted by all three employees as I entered. They were very busy on a weekday mid-afternoon. They made sure to acknowledge all arriving customers while I was there. I was impressed. They do require masks to be worn. I spoke with Zach about replacing the center diamond in my ring (old engagement ring).
He and the other associates were friendly, knowledgeable and were able to find the exact stone I was looking for (yellow sapphire). I am so excited about my ring! It's exactly what I was looking for (my birthstone). Because they did such a fabulous job with the new stone, I decided to have them place the original diamond from the ring into a pendant. I'll make another review once I get it back. I definitely recommend Zach and the Rock Hill associates for your jewelry needs.

Best jeweler in Charlotte! They have incredible customer service, great pricing, and beautiful jewelry. They take care of their clients and treat them like people and not just a sale. I visited Diamonds Direct and felt like I was just another sale they were trying to close. Thankfully I decided on Brownlee and couldn't be happier!

Came here to pick out my fiance's wedding band. With COVID going on all employees had masks on and were cleaning surfaces. They spent time with us selecting the ring and finding the correct size. While there we also got my engagement ring resized. AMAZING service. Going to this location, resizes take less time since they are done in store and I had my engagement ring back within a week- it was seized perfectly and all cleaned up looking brand new.
His band was ready to pick up just shy of two weeks (we were told 2-4 weeks until his ring came). Both times I came back (to pick up engagement ring and wedding band) the staff remembered us and asked for updates on our wedding date and cheered for us. Great people. Great service. Great prices. I recommend!

I hate that the other location closer to me closed so I went to this location. The parking lot can be a pain depending on when you come. The staff is friendly and helpful. I came here to get my annual wedding and engagement ring inspected. I got greeted immediately and they inspected my ring. I did browse around for a few minutes and they do have a decent selection of jewelry. I'll definitely come back to this location to get my ring inspected.

I recently lost a blue topaz from a ring my husband gave me thirty years ago. The ring has great sentimental value and I was heartbroken. The wonderful people at Brownlee went above and beyond to find me a stone that matched the original. I can't say enough about how kind and patient they were! Now my ring looks as beautiful as it did the day he gave it to me! I should add that my husband bought the ring at Brownlee all those years ago and their dedication to the customer is still stellar! They're the best in Charlotte!

My original review: I purchased an engagement ring and wedding band for my wife at Brownlee in 1991. Earlier this year (April), after wearing them for 27+ years, a prong broke on the wedding band, and she lost a small diamond. We took it back to Brownlee for repair. They repaired/replaced the mounting, and installed a new diamond. Yesterday, she noticed the same mounting was completely broken off, and of course, the diamond was also gone. Brownlee advertises a 12 month guarantee on all mountings, but when my wife took it back to the store today (~8 months after the mounting repair), she was told the missing mounting was clearly her fault and the guarantee didn't apply. Unfortunately, we discovered later, she was dealing directly with the store owner.
We will never shop at Brownlee again. Update posted 1/13/19: o After we were unable to resolve this issue directly with the store, I filed a BBB complaint. After several back-and-forth exchanges through the BBB complaint resolution process, we arrived at a mutually agreeable solution, resolving my complaint.

I hate posting something negative, since I have been shopping there for years, but it's what reviews are for. A week ago, I left 5 watches to get new batteries, 1 of which needed a band repair. They said 2 days and gave me a claim check. Easy Peasy! I returned in 6 days and was told that 2 of the watches had broken movement pieces because they were showing the wrong time and would have to be sent out for repair.
The watchband was still busted. Not believing that 2 watches could both break at the same time, I started to ask questions. Turns out, after we set the correct time, the watches, kept time perfectly. Now back to the band, the salesperson had me waiting about 20 minutes while she then filled out a form with every little scratch, condition, etc. and made me initial and sign like I was going to try and pull something. Including her highlighted note about it might cost more than the quote. In the end, I don't think they do repairs other than change batteries.

My husband purchased my engagement ring here several years ago, and we later purchased both our wedding bands at Brownlee's, as well (Park Road location). We're extremely happy with our purchases and appreciate the opportunity to bring my rings in for a thorough check and clean on a yearly basis. The customer service I've received from Brownlee's staff has always been great; everyone's friendly and I am typically in and out in 20 minutes or less - no complaints here!

I want to like this place as it's been in Charlotte for so long. With that said, after 3 disappointing dealings with them, I will not be back. The first experience they were just pushy and tried to sell me jewelry I said wasn't my taste a couple of times. That's cool, I can get over it. The last two I brought in jewelry I inherited that I wanted to be plated in Rhodium.
The girl who assessed my jewelry said it was all real gold and diamonds. I dropped it off and a few days later got a call it was all ready. Left work early to pick it up - only the bracelet was ready - ready as in it couldn't be plated as it apparently wasn't real gold. So already this girls credibility is not high. Then I went back to pick up the second piece a few days later - and it took 30 minutes because they somehow didn't realize I picked up my bracelet so they're panicking that they couldn't find it.
She didn't even acknowledge she had assessed it incorrectly, then had us stand there while they tried to get their computer up to ring us out. The ring looks beautiful - so when they're able to assess something correctly the end product is nice but it seems their business operation and employee training is not in very good shape. Bottom line - go somewhere else.

IF THERE WERE ZERO STARS I WOULD GIVE THAT RATING INSTEAD! To update my last review; I picked up my rings, and the total was about a hundred and $40.00 to clean three rings and size two. He sized two of them to the wrong size first of all. And one of them that was sized wrong was not supposed to be sized at all! And it was my husband's grandmother's ring that has been passed down in his family as an heirloom.
It is irreparably damaged by this because he made it bigger when it shouldn't have been touched at all. My husband is at Brownlee Jewelers right now trying to fix this, but we aim to get our hard-earned money back and take the rings to someone else! We went somewhere else to make sure that he didn't switch out any of the gems or anything, and the other Jeweler said that he would have done the whole job for $40.00 total. I'll go out on a limb and say that Mr. Brownlee is a complete shmuck. I can't think of a better fitting word!

I've worked in the jewelry business, and I know what I like. I was very clear in the preferences I stated. I like colored gemstones, but I'm not a huge fan of diamonds, and I had a specific style I was looking for. The salesperson pushed and pushed, and I told her no to the chocolate diamonds and no about four times to a particular style she wanted me to look at, and finally I let her show me a blue diamond.
Of course it had a glaring inclusion right dead center of the table--they don't do the radiation treatment to turn diamonds blue if they're jewelry quality without it. When I didn't like that, she tried to show me the same thing in a bigger stone, which I wasn't about to pay for. Then she started rolling her eyes, and lecturing me about why I should prefer diamonds. No. You don't tell a customer what to like. That's unacceptable.

This is NOT the place for you if you're interested in quality stones, custom offerings, or good customer service. I was extremely disappointed when I came to pick up a ring I dropped off with them two weeks earlier only to find that they hadn't done any work on it! The salesperson couldn't even tell me why they hadn't worked on it but had kept it for 2 whole weeks!
They claim to have in-house jewelers but actually send the pieces off have them worked on. If you love Pandora or want a cheap engagement ring, this is your place. Otherwise, look elsewhere.

I bought my girlfriend jewellery for Christmas from the Uptown location which is much nicer. I tried to be proactive and got it in November. Well I should have known better than to buy jewellery without her picking it out. So we went here to see if we could return or exchange it. I will let her pick things out from now on. My girlfriend reviewed all the cases and didn't see anything she would exchange her gifts for so I asked an employee about doing a return.
We unfortunately talked to a guy who is likely the same person from the other 1 star reviews. He talks with a fake affectation that screams condescension. Never mind the ill-fitting business casual clothes and long finger nails that are dirty, ruining his fake image. Before he will talk to us about what we want he says, "Let me remove this tape from the counter so we can conduct business".
This is tape from a holiday promotional poster he had just peeled off. I then tell him we want to do a return. He tells me since I bought them just over 30 days ago he can't do anything for me. Ok that's fine, it is on the receipt. But then he asks if he can see the earrings and necklace. He then tries to lecture my girlfriend on why she should like this set.
This was pretty bad but fine maybe he thinks this is helping. Sadly that isn't the end. He then suggests maybe he can exchange the earrings for ones from the kids case while sneering. My one solace is knowing that this guy is clearly hates his life.

I'm a first time customer here. I found this place on yelp while searching for a gift for my wife. The staff is extremely friendly and very helpful. No one tried to sell me anything I didn't need. They were very attentive to helping me find exactly what I was looking for. Quality was great and prices were impressively fair. I'm not a local as I'm in town on an extended business stay. So I was very surprised to be treated so nicely. I'll most definitely return for another purchase before I leave Charlotte and I'd highly recommend this place.
