Online, you'll only see the actual cost-the pieces are already marked at the 50% discount, and net pieces are marked as such. Palms Trading Company began as a local grocery store where Native American Indians would trade their crafts for groceries.

If you happen to visit the Southwestern United States, you know there's no shortage of places available to buy Native American Indian jewelry, pottery, rugs and other crafts. But there are fewer places that offer authentic Native American Indian art, and even fewer that offer it at reasonable prices.
Around 1933, the Del Frate brothers went into business together selling mugs of beer as well as spirits and wines on the corner of Rio Grande and Central Avenue in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The "Beer Garden, " as it was known, needed a name so the brothers began to discuss possibilities. After many days of deliberation, one of the brothers noticed a cardboard cut-out of a group of palm trees, and "The Palms" was born.
Palms Trading Company has an extensive collection of Native American Indian jewelry and other art. While our online selection of Southwestern silver and turquoise jewelry currently only consists of pieces made by contemporary artists, our in-store selection includes antique pieces. Regardless of age, each piece in our collection is authentic Native American Indian jewelry. Most pieces in our Native American jewelry collection are bought directly from the artist (or a close relative) who created it.
Bring the magic of the Southwest into your home with a piece of authentic American Indian artwork. Within the large selection of Native American Indian pottery at Palms Trading Company, you will find the right size, design and color to fit your home decor and connect you to the land and people of the Southwestern Pueblos and the Navajo Nation.

The place has an extremely diverse collection of goods from a seriously wide range of artists and tribes. It's the kind of place where you just want to buy everything you see. The best thing about this place is almost all of the work is Indian-produced, and there's also a formidable range of prices, so everyone can go home with a local craft representing the many local cultures. And the staff (could be owners) are EXTREMELY pleasant and welcoming!

The place to visit for unique gifts. This company has the largest selection of authentic native crafts that I have seen. No fears of getting fake crafts as the artist sell directly to the company. Someone is always there that knows where any item comes from and many times they can identify the artist and the approximate date made on vintage pieces. Well worth the trip.

Don't bother trying to shop here. Went the shop door was locked (which is understandable) HOWEVER the clerk made eye contact with me repeatedly and just flat out ignored me. I tried to call which also went ignored. So instead of getting to shop I left without ever getting to see anything. Very disappointed given the high reviews of this jewelry shop.

I recently purchased some earrings from Palms and just wanted to say that I am very pleased. I try to get to the shop every time I'm in Albuquerque, but this time there was an advertised discount for online purchases to I took advantage of the sale. I received my earrings within a few days. My purchase was neatly wrapped and included a very nice letter of thanks from the owner and letter of authentication. I would recommend a visit to the store in person if you are ever in Albuquerque, but it is a nice option to shop online too!

I visited the Palms Trading Company based on word-of-mouth from locals and I was not disappointed. The prices were fair and the people working there very knowledgeable and didn't try to haggle and was able to assist me on my purchase. More importantly, I got the vibe that this wasn't a part of town that tourists frequent. I highly recommend this shop and specifically for jewelry.

I have been here once before and bought a few pieces of jewelry that are very unique. So when Albuquerque is was a definite stop. This time I took in a few pieces that were my Grandmother's (over 60 years old) for repair. Adrian LaJeunesses fixed them in minutes. He gave me ideas to convert watch ends to earrings. His customer was over the top for myself and I watched him do the same for others. I'll definitely be back next time in Albuquerque. Thanks Adrian

I came here face on a suggestion from a yelper and I'm really glad that I came. The selection here is huge! They not only have jewelry but other Native American art and artifacts. A lot of the jewelry is automatically 50% off of the price that smart which makes you feel like you're getting a much better deal. The staff here is very friendly and helpful.
I came in looking to purchase some turquoise earrings as gifts for relatives and also to look at jewelry pieces for myself. The staff was very patient with me as I pulled out different trays to see their different items. I ultimately decided on a Creek turquoise pendant and bracelet. I love my pieces and can't wait to wear them! I plan on returning so that I can make additional purchases.

Fantastic service. They have so much pretty jewelry, and they let me leave things on the display counter while I decided on different pieces. The sales people were super patient and appeared to be honest. They would tell me what stones were genuine and which ones were not. Their selection is huge. One suggestion would be for them to change out the glass in their display cases. The jewelry looks kind of mediocre in the cases but sparkly and pretty when they pull the items out to look at.

This store has been on my "must go" list for months I finally made it here today and was pleasantly surprised. It is now my favorite place to go for Indian jewelry. While their display area is smaller, their prices are lower than the store I've been frequenting. They also have Talavera Suns that are already beckoning me back. This is the store I will go to first the next time company is in town and ready to shop. It's definitely worth your time and its proximity to Old Town is another plus

Moccasins was the name of our game. We ended up walking out with multiple pairs for multiple people. Life is too short not to wear comfortable shoes. Inside there are lots of Native American Southwestern items. Including: Dream catchers, Reiki like pottery, Blankets, Pottery, Kachina like dolls, Jewelry, some cooking items, and artwork. Just to name a few. Lots of people to help you out, and ample parking. As the sign says they don't haggle so unless they are having a sale you won't get much wiggle room on prices.

A few days ago, I was sorting through my closet and ran across some Southwestern mementos from the days that I lived in Los Alamos. I fondly remember my Saturday shopping trips into Albuquerque in general and at the State Fair grounds flea market and the Palms Trading Company in particular. The Palms has been around for a long time and their selection, service, and prices have been one of the reasons that I keep returning to the Land of Enchantment. Gayle was less impressed with my turquoise treasures, especially the bolo tie.
She eventually wore me down and prevailed on me to put it away before I dared to wear it in public. She also implied that Universe ending paradoxes would occur if I didn't see it her way. I'd prefer to think that I'm ahead of the fashion curve and that someday my "hip" style will be properly recognized as I proudly get my "Bolo On".
