Jose has been wonderful to work with for my wedding ring. He's very knowledgeable about the quality of rings and gives helpful, practical advice. And they honour their timeframes precisely - when they say something will be done by a certain day, sure enough I can go in and collect it that day! It's been a pleasure, thank you for my beautiful ring. I will be keeping an eye on new additions to your jewellery cases via Instagram!

I was in need of a good solid sterling silver (I prefer using silver as opposed to wood) salad serving spoon, the type with the special open slots that allows excess salad dressing to drip through so that you don't dish out excessive dressing. As the new, unused are not only unnecessary, tend to be astronomical in price when purchased separately and not near the quality of older more vintage pieces, I happened by Jean Silversmiths. Jean Silversmiths specializes in older used solid sterling silver items, vintage in nature or of discontinued patterns but in perfect shape.
In fact, once they buff it, you can't tell it from new. Anyway, I found plenty of choices, so my only problem, a pleasant one at that, was merely choosing which pattern or design I liked best. And on that count, Jean has plenty to choose from. Throughout the time I was in Jean Silversmiths the staff was most helpful and I must say totally knowledgeable about every item of their inventory including the history of the patterns and the manufacturers or makers. I now have my silver salad spoon bearing a Spanish Baroque pattern with which I couldn't be more delighted.

Excellent repair service for fine antique sterling. I brought in antique heirloom Baltimore sterling knives that the catering service put in the dishwasher. They split open. I thought they were finished. Jean's artisans repaired them beautifully. They had intricate repouse work. Jean's matched every rose and petal. They are the best.

Jean's is the best! Knowledgeable staff, beautiful items at excellent prices. Many customers have been loyal for years. I have been shopping there for 10 and am always pleased with my gorgeous purchases. Take a look when you go in and ask, if you need something special. They can usually get it! Just the best!

My grandmother used to go here in the 70s and passed this nyc gem over to me. If I need a wedding gift, this place is my go-to. Although you can typically research some sterling online and price compare, the experience in this place is unmatched. I definitely recommend ensuring Rene is working the day you visit and plan to avoid wearing the color white - you will get dirty browsing through all of their vintage pieces.
When they buff and clean them up, however, they are gorgeous and tell such a fantastic story. Laura has the history of each piece, writes it out on an authentic card to place inside the box, and it's quite the unique gift for your loved ones. Highly recommended if you appreciate vintage sterling.

This business ruined one of a pair of silver candlesticks my mother gave me. I've written 5 online reviews in my life. I only write reviews to warn people about complete negligence. I don't go out of my way to crap on someone's business because I was "unsatisfied". The candlestick I brought in had a slight wobble at the base - which I thought would be an easy fix.
I don't know anything about silver restoration, but I was reassured the candlestick would be repaired, and I was happy about it and trusted them. The candlestick was ready for pick up 3 weeks later - and I am embarrassed at how horrendous it looks. Not only is the base dented and not able to be repaired, they repaired the "wobble" by sloppily applying globs of silver around the loose base.
I of course explained my disappointment to the management, and they quickly refunded my money (the "repair" cost $100, the candlestick, worth thousands), even taking pictures of the candlestick because it looked so horrible. Obviously there is no supervision happening. While speaking to Rene, the man handling my account, about my disappointment, he laughed in my face, only adding insult to injury.
The manager said if they aren't able to repair something, no one can. Bullshit. I just wish they would have told me that in the beginning. BEWARE. These people glibly ruined my family heirloom and did not blink. Thanks for the polish, Jean.
