I had a fantastic experience with Ravin. He was very thorough and patient explaining everything about what makes a diamond perfect. Buying an engagement ring is not an easy task but he made it simple and stress free. The quality of the ring was also fantastic and I am very happy to have worked with him and David S. My partner and I had a wonderful experience working with Ravin Ghia to pick out an engagement ring! We found David S Diamonds through online reviews. We both attended an initial meeting, and I had two follow-ups on my own with Ravin in the following weeks to purchase a ring. On all occasions he was extremely helpful, and never pressured me or pushed me towards any particular decision (e.g. an unnecessarily expensive purchase).

The entire process of selecting, buying, and picking up the ring was seamless. It's clear that this store goes out of their way to thoroughly educate customers about buying a diamond, from judging the stone itself to diamond certification and insurance. We did not have such a comprehensive experience at any other jeweler - while many stores advertise their impartiality and willingness to educate, in our experience this mainly consisted of having a "4 Cs" chart waved at us without context. Ravin instead talked us through the important qualities patiently, showed us a number of stones to compare, and had insights on particular cuts as well.

The entire experience was both exciting and more relaxing than we expected after seeing the bustle of the diamond district in NYC and visiting a few other shops. Even among well-reviewed and reputable establishments, David S Diamonds stands out. We will almost certainly recommend David S Diamonds to friends looking for an engagement ring (or a diamond for any other purpose)!

Go see Ravin Ghia at David S diamond. I was referred to come here by someone who bought a diamond here 20+ years ago. The shop has an excellent reputation. Amazing service. Ravin took the time to explain to me what the different options were and what to look for when purchasing a diamond, a very educational experience indeed. Most other places I went to didn't have the same level of quality and attention to detail. Plus, the ring that I bought was basically perfect. They do a great job here. I will be sending everyone I know to this establishment.

I got my wife's engagement ring here, and the reviews (ie, comments from others) have been universally positive. Sitting at a Broadway, an usher commented on how she loved her ring. A bit awkward, but welcome. Unfortunately, the show wasn't that great. More importantly, my wife loves it. I appreciated the time David took to go over diamonds and what to think about when picking one.

While he encouraged me to shop around after the first meeting, a colleague of mine who does analytics did his due diligence, so I relied on his referral after he got his wife's ring. Moreover, he was referred through another mutual work colleague who is a pitbull for bargaining. I'm writing this review from the Starbucks across the street from his store with my wife waiting to see David and do some more shopping.

Hands down the BEST place to go for engagement rings! Three words to describe our experience: trustworthy, knowledgeable, caring. From start to finish the entire experience was wonderful - David spent over an hour educating us on diamonds and designing the perfect ring. We went to a few other places before visiting David and nothing compared (another place quoted us 10K more for the same spec'ed diamond!). We cancelled all of our appointments for the following day after we left the office. Overall, the team made what is a stressful (and expensive) decision smooth and seamless.

My Fiance and I visited David S Diamonds following recommendation from a friend. We flew from Ireland to pick the perfect engagement ring and we were not disappointed! We met Ravin at our appointment who took his time to educate us on diamonds and show us the various instruments - things no other jeweller had shown us! I went to David S Diamonds upon a referral from a friend. I was shopping for an engagement ring and he was very patient with me and described what to look for in a diamond. It is clear that he knows his cuts. I went to other jewelers in the diamond district that tried to sell me crushed ice diamonds which is an inferior cut. They were very reasonably priced and will definitely come back.

Shopping for diamonds can get tricky, there's so much you need to know before hand and not many places will educate you. My partner and I came to David's on a random day, we didn't make an appointment but they were so nice, they made the time to speak with us even though they had a busy schedule. I believe it was David's wife who assisted us, she gave us a full run down on shapes, sizes, color and clarity.

She took the time to actually teach us about the cuts and what it all meant. My partner went back without me and even at the second visit, they sat down with him and gave him an explanation on all cutes, shapes, clarity etc. They care about the product they're selling and they want customers to know what they're buying. Which is so important. Will definitely go back for the wedding bands!

Just had the most wonderful and easy experience shopping for my first pair of diamond earrings with Ravin. Before our meeting at David S. Diamonds in the diamond district, Ravin sent me loads of information on how to pick the right diamonds, what to look for besides the 4 C's, and even a pair he had in mind for me with price and quality breakdown.

I had already been doing loads of research, but what I discovered on my own didn't compare to the wealth of knowledge Ravin holds and his compassion for finding the best quality for his customers. My cousin bought his wife's engagement ring here, and my uncle's business partner also bought his wife's ring here, so I knew this was the place to go if my family and friends were already repeat customers.

I live in LA and decided at the store I was ready to buy the diamond earrings on the spot, Ravin came prepared with options after communicating before our meeting what I truly was looking for, and ultimately I couldn't be happier with this experience. I was able to send a wire transfer once the earrings were ready and they shipped in time to arrive to me back in California on my birthday. I had a great experience with Ravin. He was very patient and supportive throughout the whole process - always available via call, text or email. During our first appointment he took the time to explain the 4 C's and the whole process. I never felt pressured or if I was being sold something that wasn't in my best interest. This is not a review about David's inventory or his knowledge of diamonds, rather the way he seems to conduct his business. After doing extensive research, I was very excited to find David and decided to schedule a consult with him. It was very clear right off the bat that he was very knowledgeable. I was debating between a round and an oval diamond and he walked me through the pros and cons, really helping educate me.

After a few weeks, I've finally made the decision to move forward with an oval so I emailed back on a thread that I was on with David and another staff member. From last emails. We have U SRK 2ct Oval with DiBox, time to cash out" "Time to cash out". Listen, I understand that this is a business and they need to make money but wow. I'm sure everyone shopping for their engagement ring doesn't want to feel like someone is just trying to push whatever inventory so they can finally "cash out" Obviously I was never supposed to see his response, but if this is the way he conducts his business in the background, it puts a lot in question.

I hope after reading this, he conducts his business with more respect for his customers, in front and behind the scenes. ------------- Response : First off, not sure where you are getting the 13-15k budget. This is completely not accurate as my starting budget was 15k. David informed me that price can range depending on quality, what is on the market etc. and that yes, the cutters he works with only cuts within VS quality and provided me more information around his POV and what he is seeing in the market when it comes to ovals.

I told him that SI was my starting point because that's what I was told from speaking to various gemologist. Regardless, Instead of apologizing for accidentally copying me in an internal email that was inappropriate, it feels like they are trying to justify their actions.

Absolutely amazing experience! Ravin took such amazing care of my Fiance And I. Her engagement ring came out ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE! They harp and stress so much about the "brilliance" of the diamond and I have NEVER seen a diamond sparkle so much! From the second my fiance walks into the room people stop and stare on how "BRILLIANT" it is! They are true to there word! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

My husband purchased my 2.15 carat diamond engagement ring from David about 5 years ago. The ring is beautiful, but I always found it to be a little cloudy looking and not as sparkly as one would hope for the price. Since then we moved out of the city, and I have spoken to several different jewelers/gemologists about my diamond after taking it in to be cleaned over the years.

All three agree that the diamond is terribly cut and recommended having it recut which unfortunately would reduce the carat size to 1.7-1.8 carats. My poor husband paid David $23,300 for the diamond. The three jewelers/gemologists that I have spoken to price similar diamonds around $15,000. I know jewelers have to make a profit, but $8,300 is a considerable difference.

If you search loose diamonds online, you can also find similar ones based on color, cut and clarity priced around $13,000 consistently. Of course everyone that we interacted with at David S was extremely nice, but I feel like we definitely got taken advantage of. It pays to do your research and shop around. Sadly, we will not be purchasing any additional jewelry at David S in the future.

Ravin is absolutely the best! He is so patient, attentive, and knowledgeable. From the very first appointment he made us feel very comfortable working with him. He took the time to educate us and present us with all options. He curated all diamond shapes and weights to help me decide. For us, grading and certification was important therefore he took extra time to explain the fine details.

I loved the mini tests that he gave us to drive the point home on how to maximize your budget. I ended up He gave us a very fair price and the ring is absolutely beautiful. I have received so many compliments. We are definitely coming back for bands and other jewelry.

I absolutely love the ring my fiance bought from David S.! My fiance visited other jewelers in the diamond district but was most impressed with the services and quality of diamonds at DSD. When shopping around for a yellow-diamond engagement ring, I ended up going to more than a dozen places, all highly recommended by family and friends, but none came even close to what David was able to offer.

He is direct, honest and very accommodating, and I have gone back to him on two other occasions already. I have also recommended him to my brother and to a friend, both of whom ended up getting engagement rings from David, after doing exhaustive research.
