I have been shopping for a ring for about the past year. I have visited many websites and shopped some stores. I decided to visit LeDor Jewelry yesterday in Plainville based on a friend's recommendation. Was I impressed! There are several glass cases, but not so many that you are overwhelmed, displaying fine jewelry. The jewelry was well displayed and polished, with a wide assortment to view including some estate pieces.
The jewelry consultant that assisted me was knowledgeable and pleasant without being "pushy". I choose a ring that I liked, and then the she suggested another to consider. I went with her selection and I LOVE it! The price was within my budget. I would highly recommend this business for any jewelry purchases.

I am a customer for life after the two experiences I've had at LeDor over the past month! They have been kind, transparent, accommodating, fair priced, and have done quality work! I first came to them with a complicated request and a tight timeline and was met with compassion and flexibility. I was so grateful they were able to complete the work (early nonetheless) and just in time for a sentimental diamond to make it to my wedding.
I also had them resize my engagement ring and the price was 1/4 of what I was quoted where I purchased my ring originally. Couldn't be happier with their work and the customer service Todd provided! Highly recommend!

Beyond disappointed with our experience here at LeDor Jewelry. We brought my wife's wedding ring in for an estimate, as two small surrounding diamonds had fallen out. While there, it was brought to our attention that a prong on the center stone was also missing. After receiving the estimated costs of repairs to send to our insurance company we were told that the work could be done there.
It would take a week or two but because of the missing prong we decided to go ahead and leave the ring to be fixed rather then risk losing any other stones. We spoke with the same man (who was not the stone setter) from start to finish and although he was very friendly, informative and helpful both in person and on the phone, that is the only positive that there is in this experience.
During the first week that the ring was at the shop we received a phone calling confirming that the prong was indeed damaged and that it did need to be "rebuilt". Before doing so they asked for our permission, which we happily gave, assuming that the other three prongs would be enough to show what the fourth should look like. We were wrong. We received a call saying that the ring was ready to be picked up and when my wife arrived to get it she was not happy with it, so much so that rather then signing for the ring, it was suggested that she leave it to be re-looked at, which she did. (The center stone was extremely crooked and the new prong was not only a slightly different color then the rest of the ring but was built so much higher then the others that it created a huge gap between the center stone and the surrounding stones) After another week or so, another call came; my wife went in to get her ring and left in tears.
She was told that the ring was so delicate the prong was built as it needed to be for the ring to be "structurally sound" and wearable. This is an understandable explanation, however, what is not understandable is why, if the integrity and appearance of the ring would be so drastically altered by the work performed, would they even suggest that the work could be done there.
Clearly they were not familiar with the type of work that needed to be done on this ring. Ultimately, my wife signed for the ring because she was told repeatedly nothing more could be done. After signing she asked for a bag to place the ring in and received slightly confused looks as to why she would need a bag when she could just wear it. This ring is barely 4 years old, it remains in the bag now so no further damage can be done while we look into options to restore the ring to it original appearance. Our experience with LeDor was a complete disappointment and I wouldn't recommend this jeweler at all.

Go here for wedding bands/wedding rings, at least as one shop to consider. We didn't have a go to jeweler since we moved to this area after getting engaged so were not sure where to start. Went to the jewelry building in Boston to get ideas, then tried LeDor based on decent Yelp ratings. Excellent for us, we aren't huge jewelry shoppers, just wanted a nice investment for wedding rings : I stopped in to look at band styles to match my engagement ring, since my fiance wasn't too picky. Todd at LeDor was so accommodating and easy to work with, also offering me input and a little insight on metals, etc.
We decided the week before Todd's vacation to go with him, and he was clear about timing. He reopened the store during his vacation and their renovation to finalize our orders. My husband's ring came back a size bigger, and since we ordered something palladium, non customized, he rushed it back and got us the correct size in time for our wedding.

I dropped 2 necklaces off; I was told by an unpleasant woman that each would cost $12 to repair. When I returned to pick up my repaired chains, I was told that the charge was $35 and that "I guess he raised the charges and didn't tell me". Bad business practice. I did not have it in me to fight, but will never do business there again. I am giving them 2 stars because my jewelry was repaired on time at least.

I've never bought jewelry here, but I'd encourage anyone in the market to give them a chance. I've had several repairs done here, as well as sold some unwanted gold jewelry. They've as ways been extremely helpful, friendly and honest (they went so far as to recommend that I not sell a certain piece, as I wouldn't get very much and the sentimental value may be more, which it was.) Next time I'm looking for a piece of fine jewelry, I'm definitely going to support this small business and buy with them.
