I now know why the "mom and pop" stores are going out of business. You would think you would get better service while they struggle with the big box" stores. That is not the case when it comes to David Jewelers! I got a pair of earrings as a gift for my birthday which cost $129.83. The very first time I put them on, the post bent! I called David's immediately and was told they would have to see them to determine if I damaged them!
I am in my 60's and have been wearing earrings all my life and I might add I wear earrings EVERY DAY! I think at this point I know how to put earrings on and take them off! Their refund policy states "no refund without receipt after 30 days". Because I live in Pittsburgh which is a TWO hour drive to Meadville I made another phone call to David's to let them know when I would be coming in.
I was told again by the owner's wife that they would have to see them. I was on my way up to Meadville (2 hr. drive) when my car broke down and had to be towed. I was then close to the 30 day period so I called the store again to let them know what had happened. This time the owner, Glenn, answered the phone. He already knew the situation and knew who I was and told me he would not be able to exchange them or give me a refund!
He was very rude and I can say I have never been treated so poorly by a store owner! After telling him I would contact the BBB and write a review on Yelp he called me back and said "Come in and we will see what we can do". Glenn suggested repairing the earrings but at $123 I did not want them repaired because in my mind they were defective already and straightening the post was going to make it even more subject to break again!
Now I drive up to Meadville only to be told by Glenn when I got there that he would repair them and I stated AGAIN that I would prefer to exchange them. He flatly refused and again I told him I would be contacting the BBB and Yelp. He pushed the earrings toward me and said "Take your business elsewhere". If I was willing to let David's repair the earrings I could have just mailed them without making a 4 hour round trip!
Save yourself some aggravation and shop elsewhere because after all the years of being in business, the owner, Glenn does not understand customer service. It amazes me that David's is still in business. I am sure his grandfather who owned the original business is rolling over in his grave!

I ordered a silver New England Patriots charm for my 30 inch rope link necklace. When I ordered it the specs said 3/4' by 3/4' so I was unsure on if the size would suffice or how it would look. I received the charm early via Amazon and its incredible. The size and craftsmanship is excellent and I will continue to shop at David Jewelers. Thank you for the amazing charm. I would recommend all my friends to shop here.
