Austin's Fine Jewelry is proud to present our gift to the Las Cruces community: the Austin's Ring Museum. The Austin's Ring Museum contains pieces from across the world, and some pieces that date far back into antiquity. Rather than keep these pieces in a private location, Mr. Austin has seen it best to share these beautiful findings with the public.
At Austin's Fine Jewelry, we are committed to serving our community. To us, this means keeping our business local and providing our customers with the very best goods and services possible. We want you to have a pleasant buying experience and will work hard to earn your trust and business. Before opening Austin's Fine Jewelry in June of 1988, Keith Austin was already a veteran of the retail management world.
The majority of thefts occur when workers, guests or friends are in your home, and your jewelry is visible or accessible for them to steal. In addition, burglars are known to case neighborhoods looking for opportunities to steal. They look for uncut lawns, newspapers on the doorstep, no cars in the driveway-signs that indicate you aren't home or you've been away for awhile.

I bought a used Montblanc watch here and after several hours on the web searching for pictures of similar watches, I felt like it might be a fake. I called the gentleman who sold it to me and he said the owner would look it over. I was hoping he would do that and tell me that I was mistaken. The owner however, was already angry with me when he started talking to me.
He was furious that I would trust the internet over his word and reputation. Yes, the internet is full of crazy stuff, but it is also used for research and I feel I did a very thorough job. He wouldn't even hear my case. I was prepared to present him with my web research, but he continued to scold me for challenging his expertise. He did tell me that he got the watch from someone he trusted, but never stated that he actually opened the thing up and inspected it.
He said it came in a set with Montblanc pens and therefore is a genuine Montblanc watch. Well, I have seen several fake Montblanc pens in my day. I wish I would have been able to get in a few words during the conversation. I could have told him about the Montblanc authentication service that will check it out and issue a certificate of authenticity, if it is indeed authentic.
He did refund my money, however, but he made it very unpleasant. Prior to this, I really enjoyed shopping there, but I don't think I would feel comfortable being in this store again.

I took a ring in to be resized. Both of the men working were very friendly and courteous. The man waiting on me said the person who does the work comes from El Paso only one day a week. I picked up my ring the day I was told it would be ready. It was perfect. This will be my go to jeweler. S. Gillespie

I have brought over my $750 watch to them to get a battery replaced and they cracked the glass with their watch press. I didn't want to say anything to them due to me thinking it may have always been there. I had the same exact watch that has no cracks of stresses in the glass. I went to them again and sure enough, they cracked that one too. I know I wont be going there again to get watch batteries changed.

My watch was running slow, obviously in need of a new battery. After the lady at Austin's put a new battery in, the hour hand on my watch swung freely and the minute hand ran much faster than it should. Their response, "your watch must have suffered some traumatic shock". They suggested that I send it to Johnston's Jewelry in Ruidoso. A watch that I wore into the store, now is in the mail at my expense.

I brought in my silver/turquoise ring to be sized and it was done to perfection. I noticed the silver/turquoise 'previously loved' jewelry they have there and I've been lucky enough to add some to my collection as I was wanting some authentic Indian bracelet/cuff pieces. The service is great, friendly, patient - highly recommend

I'm so impressed by Austin's. They gave me a great trade-in value on some jewelry I didn't wear anymore and I used it toward a couple of amazing pieces I found in their store. They have new and estate jewelry ranging from $10 to $35,000. If you are into jewelry, they have many styles as well as a great selection of Southwest and Native pieces. Also, they are very helpful, honest, and provide excellent customer service. They obviously take pride in their work and their store. Service was quick for ring resizing.

We went in to sell some gold, very professional, no tricks, and very polite. Will return for a purchase in near future. The ring museum is very cool. Turns out our stuff wasn't real as we suspected but they were honest and professional about it even gave us advice on were to get good acid for checking ours was expired. The very tall deep voiced man treated us nicely.

Brought a ring in for repair. The selection of museum items was neat to look at. Staff were professional and prompt. However I drove from Alamogordo to pick up a week later. They called me two times to check the quote with me.yet when I showed up. No ring. Very disappointed not even offered a discount for their mistake. :. Won't be back

1st of all, they answered the phone when I called to check their hours. No other jeweler in LC did. They were friendly and considerate. They sized my late fathers ring for a price I could afford and mailed it to me saving me a return 120 mile roundtrip trip to Cruces. When I showed them another ring i had bent, they not only reshaped it at no cost they cleaned it too.
They also carry a large assortment of affordable used jewelry. Who does that!? But perhaps most impressive was the in-store ring museum. A collection as old as history itself. Just WOW!. Signed bobbycspain

This jewelry store has a great mix of fine jewelry (diamond rings, tennis bracelets, etc.) and Southwestern/American Indian silver gemstone jewelry. There's also a small ring museum that I confess I did not check out. I didn't catch the name of the young lady who helped me, but she was very personable and helpful. The best part was that I got stellar prices on some interesting, unique sterling silver jewelry! Also, it's not far from I-10, so it's not hard to visit if you'll be passing through Las Cruces on the road. I recommend a visit if you'll be in the vicinity.

First I was searching for a unique engagement ring for long time girlfriend (now fiancee!), and had a modest budget for such a ring (I am a graduate student). I had already searched several stores (~9) before visiting them. So I should acknowledge that within their selection of rings, they did have one ring containing much of the attributes I was searching for.
Beyond that, I can not recommend them to anyone I know. When resizing the ring the jeweler scratched the ring. They attempted to claim they had not scratched the ring. The scratch was eventually largely 'buffed out', but can see where the scratch was, and there are a few small remaining marks. I did sense a bit of a passive aggressive demeanor too, when I asked for that to be fixed.
The interior of the ring, side facing the finger, also had some jeweler's 'rouge' (as I was told), that could not be wiped off when the ring was initially returned to me from being resized (I sent that to back to be cleaned off). On further examination the ring also contains some light signs (~scratches) of work on the interior of ring, which were never bothered to be 'buffed' out.
From this, I do not believe there is much pride (I guess) in the finished quality of their resizing work. While I am sure we could go back and have the ring further repaired, at this point we do not trust the jeweler with such a valuable ring (e.g. to us containing sentimental and to us financial value). It should also be noted I do not make this rating lightly. My fiancee and I are both small business owners, and understand the importance of 'word of mouth'.

This place has the most eclectic collection! I love to go here. You can buy inexpensive earrings (under $10) or go for the high end stuff. They have a great collection of antique jewelry ring boxes (not for sale). They also have a great collection of small religious paintings for sale. The paintings are similar to Eastern-Rite Catholic Tryptichs. Like these: http://www.cenacle.co.uk/main.asp?category=Icons It's a small place, but worth a visit.
