Using a jewelry saw, buckles are cut by hand out of sheet silver and hand forged, then dapped and individually chased and soldered to produce her finished works. Pat Areias Sterling began in 1987 in Cuernavaca, Mexico, with the introduction of a three-piece buckle set which became the foundation of the designer's business. Two years later, she added silver jewelry to her collection. Reminiscent of the Art Deco era, her designs are marked by a contemporary style.Though she was born and raised in the San Joaquin Valley to third generation Portuguese dairy farmers, she pursued her interest in the traditions of her Latin descent by studying the Portuguese and Spanish cultures, arts and languages at the University of California at Santa Barbara.

Q: How do I measure my strap size? What size belt strap do I need? A: Our Pat Areias belt straps are sized in even numbers and have 5 holes punched at one-inch intervals to accommodate slight variations. Ideally, your buckle should fit in one of the center three holes of your strap. To find your strap size, measure around your hips or waist.

I had wanted a particular pair of earrings for a while. I called the store and was told they were in stock and then I forgot about it. On my anniversary my husband brought out a bag and handed it to me. The store had called my husband to pick up my gift. He had no idea what was in the bag pcked it up and handed it to me. Over a year after my issue with this establishment I returned to Pat Areias. The sterling silver belt buckle I had bought there was sitting in my closet unused and I felt like it mocked me every time I was in there. After my original post the store had offered me a 30 % discount on a new strap due to my issues. This was clearly not an incentive to go back since it took me over a year to do so.
I decided it was time to visit. I entered the store and was promptly greeted by Paul Lee. He was knowledgeable, and attentive. My trepidation began to melt away. I picked a new black strap and Paul buffed my original sterling silver buckle that I brought with me to the store. It looks like new. I showed him the e-mail correspondence and he honored the discount offered. Paul was a professional and made me feel welcome. I am upgrading my opinion based on this experience.

Pat Arieas is a top notch jewelry designer.whenever I have needed anything for a grad, dad, or friend, etc.she always has something appropriate. I recently purchased sterling money clips that she engraved for me. They were 21st birthday gifts and graduation gifts for 2 of my grandsons. Her work is timeless so the pieces I purchased will one day be heirlooms the boys can pass down. Pat and Fred are passionate about thier customers and care alot. They have a great staff that always makes the process easy and fun.

Great silver boutique! Earrings, cuffs, necklaces, jewelry sets, hair pins, silver belt buckles and lots of choices of fine leather. I never find myself wearing belts but if I did I would definitely buy one here! I saw a women wearing one of their rings, loved it and tracked it down. When I came by the store to buy it they didn't have it so it was sent it from another store.
The shipped ring didn't fit so instead of sizing it they made me a new one. I also bought a pair of great earrings. Pat Areias' style is bold eclectic and high quality. I love her pieces that have a traditional Mexican style and also a bit of art deco.
