Gold Smith Jewelers, a family owned jewelry store, has been serving Lincoln, NE and the surrounding communities for all of their jewelry needs since 1983. In 2007 we moved to our current location in The Old Cheney Center shopping mall which is conveniently located near Nebraska Hwy 2, 56th St, and Old Cheney Road. At Gold Smith Jewelers, we offer a full range of jewelry-related services from basic repair to complicated custom designs. Our knowledge and skills, paired with years of working at the jeweler's bench, make us experts in our field.

Our story began in 1972 when Doug became the jeweler for a catalog showroom in Lincoln, NE. In the next decade, the catalog showroom started expanding into other states and he became responsible for all jewelry repairs for over 10 different locations. In 1983, we knew it was time to take the plunge and open our own store; Gold Smith Jewelers was born.
The term "fine jewelry" has been described as jewelry made out of gold or platinum, with or without gemstones. We go a step further to include the caliber of our workmanship and quality of our gemstones in that definition. Our fine jewelry doesn't just stick to standard gemstones like ruby, sapphire, and emerald, although we do use them.
There are plenty of people who can draw a custom jewelry design on a piece of paper or design it using Computer-Aided Design software (CAD), but it takes a bench jeweler, one who hand fabricates and repairs jewelry, to understand the practicality and mechanics of the design. The team at Gold Smith Jewelers works together to ensure your vision will also become a functional, beautiful piece of jewelry. We use several different techniques to bring our custom designs to life, including lost wax casting with either hand carving or CAD.
At Gold Smith Jewelers, one of our many strengths is our expertise in evaluating your jewelry's issues to ensure the proper solution. Because we design and make jewelry, we have the expertise and knowledge to repair all of your jewelry correctly. Repairs are done on-site at reasonable prices within a quick turnaround time.

I was spoken to very rudely by the husband co-owner. He actually said that my adjustable ring was "a pain in the ass". Who says this to a customer? My daughter had the pearl ring she gave me set in an adjustable band because she didn't know my ring size. He seemed totally annoyed that he had to come out of the back to show me how to adjust it; it was like I was a bother to him.
I think his wife (co-owner) was very embarrassed by his behavior & tried to smooth things over. I will give him the benefit of the doubt and just assume he was having a bad day. However, I will not be back to Gold Smith Jewelers, nor will I recommend this place to anyone! He also said he would replace one of my small gems in the band and did not do it.

I have been going to Gold Smith Jewelers for over 20 years. Last year I had them repair my 50yr old wedding/diamond ring. It sparkles like new! I would not TRUST any other jeweler with my most precious treasures. They take MUCH PRIDE in the work they do and always have been pleasant and cordial with me. They explain what repairs need to be done and why. Work is completed on time. They have also told if repair would cost more than item is worth. HONEST PEOPLE.

Great work and Great people! I needed to have the prongs checked on the diamond of my ring. This is the first time I have been to this shop and they are absolutely amazing. They explained everything to me in detail and helped me resolve the issue. The time was prompt and ahead of what I had planned on to get it back. I highly recommend this jewelry store for repairs and also any new item.

I love Doug and Mary and Gracie. Doug is a whiz with sizing rings and I wouldn't trust anyone else to size my grandmother's 1932 class ring from a size 5 to a 9.5. It fits beautifully and he does quality work on all my other pieces. Mary is so warm and welcoming - customer service is her middle name. She really knows her stuff too, and I love talking shop with her. Gracie? She's in it for the belly rubs :

When my diamond fell out of my wedding ring and chipped the mall jewelry store where we bought it said it could not be fixed because the diamond was chipped and that my only option was to trade my set in for a bigger, "better" set. I did not want to lose my set and I did not want a new set, I wanted the set my husband put on my finger 16 years ago. So. my husband took the ring to Gold Smith Jewelers.
They were able to put my diamond on to a new head and fixed my ring in less than 2 days. I'm so pleased with it and so pleased that I can continue to wear my set. Thank you! Also, my husband said they were friendly and helpful and our two boys loved petting the dog and playing with the toys. Great experience all around! Thank you!

Gold Smith Jewelers does excellent work! They are so knowledgeable about what they do. They have repaired and fixed my fine jewelry (.I took my rings here after being dissatisfied with the work at a large, popular engagement ring "superstore" in town.) and also replaced watch batteries for me. Reasonable prices and honest answers!

Doug and Mary helped us create a wedding design from a family heirloom ring. They both felt the importance of this ring and offered great suggestions based off our ideas.
